Bittersweet for sure. 😥 it is hard to loose a good queen. This is my 2nd year w/Queen Latifah and I hope she continues to do well for at least another year. 🥰🐝🥂 I look forward to seeing what happens with this colony. 💞 Thank You for your videos and for Sharing your Bee Stories with us. 😎🐝✌
Thank you for watching. She was a great queen and I have a lot of her daughters still going. Good luck with your girl I hope she keeps the hive packed!!!!
Thank you for sharing. I'm always waiting for your videos. I live in Cody WY and am going with single brood chambers and medium honey supers. Please don't stop recording videos
Finally the bees made the call - dead queen. What bee makes that call?? The bees are crazy smart and seem to know more than we do. LOL It will be fun to see what happens. Hopefully the new queen will be nicer than what the mom was. Good video, thanks.
Just goes to show you that they are so far ahead of this beekeeper that they gave me no options. Lots of splits and honey from this girl so I will miss her.
One minute you were going to requeen from a nuc in order to quickly re-establish honey/brood production. Next minute destroy all but one queen cells (very brave of you) and then wait till next week. Are you sure you made the right decision? Still a great video and good luck with the new queen.
I know I am all over the place with this hive. And no I am not sure that I ever make the right decision. But I do have options and depending on how things look next week I can slide in a nuc or just let them go with the new queen cell. I also though that showing the process of raising a new queen would bee fun to show people.
@@mrtsbees4454 sounds a lot like me in the apiary. I think you made a just fine decision given the circumstances. I would have probably done the same. fresh queens and new hives are worth more than a huge honey crop.
I am sorry, I don’t understand . What do you mean mic on iphone. I like to record what I see during hive inspections and am using a mic connected to my iphone. The cord is a pain. Would like to find a cordless way. I am not tech smart.

@@mrtsbees4454 she's got a strong double deep colony going now... *knock on wood* Best of Luck ✌
They are fun to watch when they get big and can take advantage of a good flow. It's why we love beekeeping.
You had a good run! They sure sounded queenless....Well the brood break will help keep mite levels low...
Yup 👍🏻 yup
She was amazing for sure. I have lots of splits to keep her genetics going and tons of liquid gold. She will bee missed.
Mr T, sorry that you lost that old lady but that’s beekeeping!
It was awesome to watch a great queen go through the years. Probably why I can't make the change sooner.

It sounds like this colony is aggressive. You might want to introduce a gentle queen.
@@yu-hsiakao7784 those are not aggressive bees lol.

Thank you for watching.
She was a great lady 😬
Yes she was and now I have a lot of her daughters to keep the genetics going.
They have been trying to replace her for awhile, but.
Yep practically all summer. I am not good at taking a hint. Haha
What wireless mic are you using?
I don't use a mic I use the mic on my Iphone.

Sorry I don't use any mic except the one that comes with the phone. I tried to use a mic in the past and it just makes scratching sounds when I move.
Geez….I would have left two….don’t make it so hard….they make Queens for a reason…
I only leave one. That way they don't cast a mini swarm.
