Congratulations to Craig on being the 2nd richest over 30 BJJ coach in Austin TX.
I'd take it❤
2:32 "We rob them in other ways they wouldn't even begin to understand" 😂😂
This was definitely one of the cooler videos craig has released, love this kind of behind the scenes content.
weird to see him in a believable character lol
@@joshuahettinger9287❤❤
It’s easy to forget how intelligent and business savvy Craig is simply because he prefers to stuff around and make jokes. He’s as successful as he is for a reason.
Most comedians are way above average intelligent. You have to be to observe reality and poke fun back it in a structured way.
Craig is an intelligent and bussiness savvy and that's partly why he fools around and makes jokes. He's aware that he is interacting with an audience here.
We had Craig for a seminar in Sydney, we did not take a cut and just asked he come early for a bit and essentially give us a free private. He was great and spent so much time with everyone hanging out and answering questions. Great dude.
As someone who taught Jiu Jitsu for the last 10 years, 75 a class is 100% good pay for a Jiu Jitsu coach. If you're not a world champ you should be very happy with that pay.
Better than my current pay of $0 😅
how many classes a day is normal to teach? does he mean as a side gig or your main job
You shouldn't be happy with it but that's the market rate for sure.
@@goobiesgamegarage4517$75 to teach for like 45min isn’t good?
@@fullysuppressed Good for the class, sure, but how many classes are you teaching a month?
I would honestly like a series where each B Team member talks about how they first started making money (regardless of job) to how they started making money in BJJ. That'd be very interesting especially for non BJJ fans/practitioners
Watch the first 15 mins of the lex Friedman b team episode lmao
Bj seminars do well
If Damien can sell instructionals, anyone can
What's wrong with Damien?
My claim to fame is I asked Craig a question in a seminar and he said it was the weirdest question he ever got asked.
What was it lol
Of course he uses lube.
@princessperfect8578 I asked him what his thoughts on doing jiu-jitsu vs a kangaroo. I thought it would be best to wait til it tries it's front kick and use that to pull single leg x. But hitting a duck under to a back take was also an option.
@@goobiesgamegarage4517great take oss champ 💯🏆
@@goobiesgamegarage4517 Btw what was his answer?
It's neat to see Craig acting seriously. It's also weird because my favorite thing about him is his sense of humor. Followed closely in second by his 2x ADCC silvers.
The most accomplished, unaccomplished practitioner.
He’s not gonna shag you mate
Money is the only thing Craig is serious about 😅
thought craig was gonna troll us the entire time, but hes actually serious 90% of the video for once lool
A little trolling can go a long way.
“Over 35 year old, lonely semi chubby white guy, that’s the cream of the crop of the jiu jitsu instructional market” 😂😂😂
Finally I feel included 😅
He literally described me 😂 lmfao
Same !😂
Proud to have bought one of Craig's instructionals on sale that I skimmed through once and haven't really watched.

"...some people don't even have good grasp of the English language. Some of the best sellers, you might say, have too good of a grasp over English language: we are hitting a fuck1ng dictionary throughout these products." - Craig Jones on people creating BJJ fanatics courses
Craigs balling out of control these days eh
No one can control the man 😂
Why cuz he's serious.. for once ?
thanks for the tips Craig. Hopefully I can save enough from my jiu-jitsu earnings to buy a Miata one day
Or save up enough to take a girl on a date who owns a Miata
Normally I hate hearing about people's serious thoughts and emotions. However, it would be fascinating to sit in on an actual therapy session of Craig. I'm wondering what his deep-rooted issues are, how he feels about life, and if he has any past traumas that haunt him. I think this would be another step forward in keeping jiu-jitsu as gay as possible
just say you wanna date him already brother
Just bought my Mexican ground karate rash guard. My whole gym thinks I’m racist, thank you Craig!
You need to go to a mexican gym then
Get the "Keep Jiu JItsu Gay" shirt so the judgemental pricks can think you're homophobic too.
People: "How do I make money doing this Craig"
CJ: "Thats the neat part, you dont."
This is genuinely fascinating. Would love a similar video on the vision for B-Team.
If i pay for a b-team membership or seminar can i use as a tax write off since is related with people with autism? clarification needed
The best marketing that could happen is grudge team matches between gyms. Quintet started that but never built on it. They need to build that narrative of gym rivalry and then market the hell out of that.
Your videos are always great. Keep bringing the content you guys make bjj more fun.
Honestly the most interesting videos on the channel. Good stuff!
Just started teaching juijitsu at my pro wrestling gym for free membership, good to see I'm starting on the ladder
like WWE gym?
@@Patrick-sz7uk pretty much
Great work as always man, happy some talented dudes are actually finally getting paid in this sport
systematically doing everything that everyone can do explained in a way everyone can understand
This is the kind of content that we really appreciate
Oh man I love this guy brutally honest
This is useful content, and what Craig discussed can be applicable to many businesses.
just like bjj philosophy is applicable to many parts of your life!
Said all that in one take with no edits 👏
This was great! been trying to tell teammates to get on the social media grind
Very informative. I really liked this.
Gold content 🙌🏼 100% agree with this
Spoken like a true business-man. Nicky Rod just needs to make instructional and use as many big words as possible that shit would be perfect
Great video, as always!
It’s true on many levels. All this advice on marketing applies to just about every genre of artistry. You don’t have to be the best artist, musician, martial artist, as long as you have the skills to cultivate a following and market yourself. My professor isn’t the greatest grappler in the world let alone my area but I’m constantly learning under him and he brings great value overall on top of just being a good person.
True and honest advise! Thanks
Craig, my son started watching your vids and now he is gay and rich. Thanks!
I would also include books. I wrote the first BJJ ebooks and regular books for Amazon, Apple, Barnes & Noble, etc., that weren’t instructional back in 2009. I wrote books on Psychology, such as “Psychology of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu,” and advice for new guys such as “Grappling 101.” I even wrote inspirational books such as, “ Tapmonster, “ etc. Since I was the first, I was able to sell unchallenged for about three years. The books still sell and I have sold tens of thousands of books. I am relatively unknown, but I have probably been read by most of the current people that dominate the social media sphere now. There are plenty of ways to make money and contribute positively, you just have to find your niche. I was an academic that loved grappling, so it was natural for me to write these books.
Links to your famous books?
Yea winning gold doesn't mean you're set still work to be done, putting together instructional people want to see, cool fun merch, having a personality lol. I know Gordon is supposed to be at the top with his teaching but i cannot learn bjj from him or find it difficult him and John. I found Craig teaching much more digestible and love is conceptualize game and system thinking outside the normal bounds of bjj with his bjj content. The power ride and front headlock leveled me up and before i had bunch of Gordon dvds and it just didnt stick.
Insane value. Making money with BJJ is the dream!
Thanks Craig!
Professor Jones seem to know his stuff on making money. Even though I really enjoy his trolling, it’s refreshing to see him serious at times.
Love you crag, genuinely funny guy
Speaking of instructional videos, what would you recommend for wrestling up?
Craig is a god damn gem to the BJJ community
Great insights
Great stuff, remarkably honest. I thought it was going to be a comedy skit at first
Don’t understand why someone would pay $200 for a instructional when there’s limitless free great content on UA-cam
We as a community need a website that lists every seminar, whether it is gi or no gi, where to park your car, and any house rules.
I wish this was out before I bought Gordon’s book 📕😂
B team on submeta? 😳😳😳 Lets gooooo
That "35 year old chubby white guy" really hurt me 😂
that part at 2:38 is the funniest bit of him I've ever seen... especially the part about people wanting to show him stuff. The way he says it 😂😂😂 dude bored to death 😂😂
Freaking love this guy!
Cool video, glad Craig is not stupid and is gonna be fine through late age
It’s crazy to hear him say GORDON IS THE BEST AND HAS THE MOST ATTENTION ( 9:28 )
How can someone not like this guy?!
Craig isnt dumb he knows gordon is the best gear or no gear.
For me this is the best video the channel has put out. I know the target audience isn't that large, but I appreciate it.
Currently have 13 students who pay for private study with me, I now will always look at myself as an escort 😂
Do any of them call you Daddy?
Seedy establishments are a must with this man.
@@LionAndALambtell them the japanese name for the move is daddy.
Craig's pin is hilarious
Nice business lecture
Craig is the best
Craig is always clearly extremely intelligent, meticulous, and articulate but is also Aussie, which naturally requires 99% of the time to take the piss. I always enjoy seeing this though, I took great value from it and very much appreictaed.
That's high level information
this is just general good business advice.
thanks 2nd place escort 👍
The thing about private lessons he said where some people just want validation is so true. Anyone who has taught private lessons for anything knows this is the case - like 80% of the people just want to show off what they've learnt and 'impress the teacher'. Nothing wrong with that imo but is good to know this as a private instructor. If you go too hard on people paying you and start bashing out instructions on how to improve, when that's not what they're looking for (even for some people who say it is what they're looking for), then you're gonna lose clients real quick. Remember if someone's paying you X dollars to give them lessons, they got that money elsewhere, aka this thing is just a hobby for them, enjoyment is #1.
Exceptions ofcourse for very high level students, or if you got a kid prodigy who's gonna be a future world champion.
Masterpiece
I honestly expected kind of a goofy video. This was super insightful.
Very interesting
How much just to watch?
Breaking news: Craig Jones admits he would expose himself for free when he was younger.
and then would use those moments to take advantage of other people. gotta love that
Keeping it real!
Purple belt here, i get 20€ an hour, free membership for me and my son and 24/7 gym card for the lifting era, as a part time job besides my normal job i feel like a billionaire when i get my 150€ at the end of the month 😂
Craig is entertaining af
I feel like I’m sitting down with my burned out rich uncle giving me the facts I don’t want to hear but it’s the truth, dude amazing content Craig, the social media part really made me wake the F up thanks 🔥
fucked up audio most of the time., but Craig delivered this time with fire content and good audio (first time on any of his videos here). Hope you keep it up mate.
where can I get that pin?
Yep. The Blue / Purple belt ‘I trained at B Team for 2 months national seminar tour’
Craig’s a smart guy - if you had not already noticed.
there are really alot of avenues to make money for an elite black belt like Craig.
I’ve helped with kids class for years and never got a dime but I’ve trained for free
@craig is there much money to be made off BJJ merchandise??
There is definitely a bromance here 😂😂😂
I bought almost every leg lock dvd available 😂
Craig Jones for president of the universe
That shirt 😂😂
The Estima brothers manage a lot of GB and GB Wear. I imagine they must be doing well.
That explains why Craig took the match against Pena. Got paid $150K! He’ll do anything for a buck.
Amazing seeing behind the scenes honesty. Now lets here the breakdown of exactly what and how much of each steroid everyone takes 😂
Craig " This is a charity they are giving you"
Craig One minute later "Remember this is not a charity"
This is why he is the second best there is, Also he left out what kind of money you bring in coaching a UFC World Champion for more than a handful of fights now
How to get rich in BJJ even if you're not a BJJ athlete: Sell Roids to those who are pro BJJ. Anyone who says "Steroids aren't illegal in jiu jitsu" is your customer for life.
How was John Danaher able to afford New York rent while working at Renzo's?
so what youre saying is I should quit everything now and go do jiu jitsu?
Yeah, it's a gold mine
Honestly, only a few people in jiu jitsu should be able to make great money doing seminar. In the age of great instructionals which are actually better than privates/seminars. Also i just find it odd Jiu-jitsu is so separated from MMA, which is where the true competition is.
Can confirm signed up to fight pass just to watch the no 1 p4p take down Pena.
Andre Galvao is on Cameo
i def underestimated how much money bjjfanatics could generate
Alternatively, don't overlook ways to monetize your spare time that have nothing to do with jiujitsu. Think about a dog walking app. You could train all day, 3 days a week, work 1-4 days as you want & who's to say you can't upsell? Congratulations, i walked your dog. Your dog is walked, very, very far away & if you want your dog returned back to you, there WILL be an additional cost incurred to me; requiring an upcharge. This upcharge is completely optional of course & they are under no obligation.
Have you considered selling personalised instructionals through something like Cameo? I'd order several if you can teach my partner how to actually win... It seems to work for Bruce Buffer's extra fun money?
By win I assume you mean 2nd place?
Why would you pay for your partner to win? That’s fucked up girl
