GPX TSE 300R Build Pt.5 (China Rip Off or Not???)

- Final part of my initial build series on the GPX TSE 300R.
I have now had an hour breaking in the engine and this is a full blown hard enduro bike.
The big question is have the Austrians been ripped off or are they collaborating in manufacture?
Personally I think the latter as its now KTM old Tech and they can make money selling or agreeing the use of patent.
Plus Below.

Comments below and how much has your bike cost to make it how you want it? - Авто та транспорт
Well that is a good revue. This bike is an alternative to those expensive bikes for the working class who want to ride.
I got the same bike, the original name is Lextra, now I'm transforming into a Super Moto, with 2 wheels, 17". I use the same hubs, just changing the spokes, 36 each wheels, the rings, and tyres. I love it. At half of price of any 2 stroke out of there.
what did you pay? i'm getting prices of 2796 dollar for the 250 and 3849 for the 300. is the lextra exactly the same as the GPX? (except road registration and decals)
and what was delivery time? they are saying 90 to 120 days
@@drmotoren1437 yes, consider 120 days depending where you live and time waiting at custom facilty.
@@drmotoren1437 you are going to recive it in a crate, unless you are an experienced mechanic you may ask a quote from anyone that can assembly it.
@@drmotoren1437 those are price before shipping, you need to add with Delivery Duty Paid ( DDP ) formula, the cost of shipping by container ship, and customs. It cost cost me about 5500USD to get the crate at home. Than add assembling, the battery, and all fluids.
Time will truly tell....well done review
Thank you so much for all the work done and shared with us, got mine last week and its awesome motorbike, I ordered the same carb 38 S pwk short body copy and vforce4, will buy the genuine Kehin jets too, and needle, can you share your configuration to have a base from where start to ?
Awesome bud 👍🏻
She's alive!
Can't say the same about this one:ua-cam.com/video/HsC6NbUCY-M/v-deo.html
great series Robbo ! I like these bikes a lot
Thanks bud , got an interesting one coming 👍🏻
Is there any issues getting these registered for the road being two stroke. Noticed you have your 250 registered.
I had 4 Yamaha DT125R s going up an a YZ an everything, it’s it like a modern DT200 R but with the extra cc, engine is a Yamaha clone?
I don't have a problem with these kinds of bikes as long as they are cloning older generations that are no longer sold. If you want a 2017 300 XC with a Carb, and don't want to buy used, this gives you an option and if it's a close enough clone you can get OEM KTM parts or aftermarket parts. Concern with anything made out of Chinese metals is you have no idea if the metal was created to spec and could have a catastrophic failure. That said I've seen plenty of pics of real KTM's with broken frames as well. That and the fact that KTM is starting to produce more bikes in china doesn't leave me with much symphony for them. When you partner with Chinese manufactures they are going to steal your IP.
China might be spying everyone, but at least is not exporting war all over the place like nato nations.
Hi Robbo, nice info. I have the same bike 250 2t and the 300 on order. my question , which artafon model will suiy yje 300? is it the 2022-2020 KTM HUSQVARNA 250/300 EXC TE 2T TPI DIFFUSER GUARD
£86.25 excl. VAT source rutherford racing. thanks
Hi bud , I have the Artafon diffuser Guard for oem KTM bend 20-22 but not fitted as yet. It will fit but needs some modification. Firstly the front of the guard interferes with the tyre on full fork compression. Secondly I need to make a fixing plate to bolt the lower to the sump/skid plate.
The GPX has a centre mounting point unlike KTM which has rivnuts in the frame rails.
Lastly the frame above the exhaust is a little different than KTM so the holes for the mounting brackets had to be made bigger to allow movement for positioning.
It will work but I’ve not found the time to fully sort it as yet. Just waiting for an oxy torch so I can heat up the front and push that area back half an inch or so. Other wise the bike is great how I’ve got it set up. 7hrs running time I’m really happy with it in all areas.

Pull the reeds out and examine them. Do they seal tight ? Run the bike at Erzburg to give it the real durability test.
VF4 fitted but nothing wrong with original reeds. From what I’ve done on this bike already in its first 25hrs I would ride it anywhere.
Hi how is frame quality on these chinese dirtbikes?
Are they any worse than ktm frames? Seems like a good product!
Just as good as any other big brand dirt bike no complaints. I use an alloy sump guard as I've seen too many orange bikes with flat frame rails. So far no dents.
@@RobboRobinson very nice!
Plastics shapes look exactly like on my 2022 KTM excf.
Rad shrouds are different but everything else is.
some youtuber mechanic made a video, opened the engine, he stated is KTM 2017-2019, except the clucth. He used the KTM manual to do the job.
@@rudydalessandro1094 Amazing.
Hey Robbo...Thanks for saying what I have been preaching...that tons of stuff is made in China and these GPX & Certain Kayos, Kove,& SSR Dirt bikes are not like the crap they used to send over. I have owned 2 of the better brands and have no problems and really it all comes down to setup and maintenance.
The only negative really is lack of manuals and parts support.
Glad you have that 300 the way you want it, hope to see you out racing it this summer.😁👍
Gpx has manuals for their bikes. At least they did...I don't know about this bike though.
@@hello-dirt 👍 yeah..even when they do ..they are not like the big 5 brands..who have shop manuals.
Completely incorrect. You really should try a bit harder to ensure what you say is correct before you say it. GPX USA and UK have all parts for this bike. All parts in an overnight post away from customers should they want that speed. Chassis through to piston and rings or a rear shock. Parts books, User handbooks. If you really need a full workshop manual to strip an engine you really shouldn't be attempting it in the first place.
@@gpxmotoukgpxmotouk4002 Damn why the hostility...and I am pretty damn sure you guys don't have all parts in stock without stripping bikes (Gary @ GPX USA has done thus and it's appreciated) as far as manuals..maybe they have improved, but a shop style manual should be available...just like the big 5...and yes I can tear down an engine, suspension, complete bike...maybe you should do some research into who I am and what I've done for the China Bike Community...Tard 🤦♂️
@@gpxmotoukgpxmotouk4002 What a sh**ty thing to say, if you need a workshop manual you shouldn't attempt it? And your overnight parts is bull, why dont you search sam cake here on youtube and see the hell of a time he had getting his tse 300r going. How long it took and what he had to do to get it running.
what carburetor do you have?
PWK 38mm short body Keihin copy.
@@RobboRobinson Thanks, I ordered it too. Is the standard needle good or should it be replaced?
Have heard these carbs are best junked.
@@gilesgreenaway5655 n8rj i installed
The best made bike frames have been coming out of Taiwan for years from aluminum to Titainum to carbon in the mountain biking scene. Why not dirt bikes from China?
All this needs is a STIC Super X carb. But only if you want power approaching 450 levels. I've got one on an old 200SX and it pulls new 250F's and a '98 KX250! I'm mixing it up with 450F's. The latter is a new level at the track for me. To keep it in control, I run the slowest turn G2 throttle cam. On the tight trails it has unstoppable grunt and lofts the wheel in an instant.
This is it product of thailand🇹🇭
"Some sort of collaboration" yea GPX bought one and copied all the parts.
Cfmoto is a sister company to KTM..... Cfmoto also makes KTM parts for KTM..
