Closest local skate shop to me is legit 3 hours away. I live 50 minutes from a Zumiez. If I want to go buy stuff for my board. For my needs in person and feel it out, I have no other options. I’d love to support local shops but they’ve all died out because I live in an area where skating isn’t normal. There wasn’t even a skate park for 20 plus years. They just got one 40 minutes from my house 1 year ago.
if you have a local skate shop GO THERE. not only will they have more helpful tips for buying equipment, they'll have cooler brands than Zumiez (but many of the same) and you might MAKE FRIENDS THERE who actually want to go skate. Not nearly as likely in a mall chain shop. Also local skaters get the money not zumiez board members in suits and ties who have never skated
The decks are pretty much as good as any other since they are all coming from the same few wood shops. The trucks and what not might be questionable if you don't know the brand
zumiez in my opinion is decent for clothes (if you think the price is fair) but i hate how the skate section in most zumiez i’ve been too always has boxes and is always messy i’ll always buy skate stuff from a local
hey zach, love your videos - you truly, as everyone says, are extremely underrated. i have a request for a video if its in your budget - could you do a review on the ccs blem complete? its like $80
Thanks for the kind words! I'd love to do a review of the blem complete. I'll add it to my list! With the weather though, I probably won't be able to review it until next spring. Thanks for the suggestion.
mini logo are basically powell blanks. not my choice, but there is nothing wrong with them especially for the price. i get stuff from zumiez, they have good stuff and run deals. like buy a board/deck and get another deck for 25 bucks. i never understood the 'guilting/shaming people into paying more at a skateshop' bit, that's not how business works.
@@MidnightSnackSkateboarding i wasn’t expecting a reply ngl since this video is a year old but thank u! i found a skateshop somewhere with just a single subway trip so i’ll try n check that out next time i’m out 👍
I personally go shopping at ace hardware for my skating needs
That’s probably a good way to get in bulk

zumiez doesn't sell bad boards, it's just by not supporting a local skate shop, you have local places go out of business :(
I live in bumfuk Louisiana Noone will put a skate shop here
Ok bro just cause it's not a $80 plus board doesn't make it a bad deck.
literally the only skate shop near where I live.... and im not pulling up in a 20+ dollar uber to go to a skate shop further away lmaoo

anyone know how to find local skateshops? especially in the city?
Best option would be to google, "Skateshop in (Your City/Town)" You'll be able to find some that are local to you!
