I am coming back as well, I am 31 now and stopped at 22 I beleive, becuase of a serious knee injure, I didn't know about the concave, I tought it had to do with the size of the skate and also de brand, now I understand why some looked bigger even it was same size and now I know which one was my favorite concave and I loved the concave and big pop

😂 I used to skate when I was 15 and stopped and now I’m 36 and found a local skate park next to my new jobs so I’m gonna pick it up again so I can skate on lunch/while waiting for rush hour to pass
@@spiderichard I'm 49, stopped skating at 20. And i also got at sweet concrete bowl park 3 minutes away from my workplace. I'll be picking up a board today

buy colour for wood,
and paint your own board 👌

Awesome quick guide max!, now days there are so many choices for skate equipment. I think one thing people should watch out for is those prebuilt completes and price point boards that seem to be slightly better quality then big box store completes.

I love supporting local brands. There are a lot of board pressers out there that make custom boards that are local as well. I personally prefer life boards which are pressed just a couple hours away from me.

Just went in my local shop Cowtown skateboards in Phoenix AZ bought a cowtown deck ,cowtown 54mm wheels Bones Redz bearings , jessup grip tape, already had some old nice thunder trucks just got back into skateboarding with my little niece

Thank you Max, until now I see about concave I thought it had to do with the brand and not that it was a size, in my country is hard to find your best skate since there is not much options to choose
i used to be told to used bones redz cause the ol team used them.. and i was the black sheep out of the city. i wiuld explode a bearing every week. the local skate shop coukd not understand how i did this for some reason it was always doing half calb heel flip nose grab (trick i've been doing for 23 years) down flight of stairs lol.. i was checking skateboard brand. i am starting again. i was hoping for great companie. as what i use to rude is either dead or mass produces at lower quality. but this was a great video... pays the extra for de bones ceramic if you are going to skate hard..
this is really good, I love Indy's but they feel unstable with my Qwik Truks so I changed to ventures.. thinking about getting some lows to balance out the weight, on that note one of my favorite skaters around my own age swears by Tensor mag lights so I was thinking of getting em. Ion if the ones you are referring to are the same but they seem pretty nice if you want less weight without sacrificing grind capability

I wish I knew this back when I was in high school skating... I never thought all of this. But I did notice how different decks elevated my skills. I would of liked getting that same preference every time and see how good I could of got

I'm just trying to get back into the hobby after 20 years and ive been going crazy overthinking things lol. Like trucks....Thunder, venture or indys? high or low trucks? Wheels.. The powell dragons as im in the northeast and really bad roads or the new Andy Anderson nano cubics or the Formula 4s? What size wheel, 52 or 54? Do i go with a more square wheels which i like the look more or do i go with a rounded one? And last but not least truck size...I saw some guys go a ¼ up in size to have the wheels in line with the board which i like that look best but will that affect learning flip tricks? Yeah im definitely overthinking things lol

Idk how I came across this video on my recommended, but I love it; I’m 37 and I haven’t skated in Probably 18 years.
All I can say is this video brought back some serious nostalgia! I forgot how much I loved the set up and personalization of my boards. For what I can remember I skated 8in, always independent hardware/trucks, and Blind boards or Girl boards with a few alien workshops. Spitfire wheels were the goto wheels then. If those brands don’t exist anymore thn just call me a boomer.. haha
Anyways great video, I legitimately am thinking about heading down to the skate shop and getting back on a board. In my head I feel as if some simple 180 Ollie’s , pop shove it’s or some low height nose slides will immediately come back to me…of course the other sane part of my brains tells me no fucking way… 😂

One thing about indys is the stock bushings are way too soft for the wider trucks. Theyre fine for the smaller sizes, but if you're riding a 10 in board they're useless

@@willmax95 nothing wrong with my current wheels but they have been used a fair bit and they were 52mm when i bought them, i am getting the 8” because of pretty bad razor tail so should i still keep my current wheels or get bigger ones?
