  • Finishing the dolly for the washer and dryer. Very simple project, with so much usability. Now the the washer and dryer is mobile, able to get it out the way, while working.

I have 2 washers and 2 dryers, I'm considering building a platform out of 1 1/8" plywood with 6 wheels, 1 at each corner, and 1 center front and back. After using your machines on the dolly you built, would you recommend all wheels be locking or just the 4 corners?

I recommend you lock them all. You will still get some movement. I have to move it into the right place ever 6-8 months

I understand. Long videos aren’t for everyone.

I would like to do something like this for my washing machine only so I can service our dryer easier. How do you know that the platform will hold the washer with a full load with water? Also, does it move around a lot when spinning?

80% of the dolly is 2x8 the rest is plywood holding it together. After using it and morning it around during construction for about two years, it is still holding up. If you are a little doubtful of the dolly, I will also use pl construction adhesive to add that extra strength. Also it dose shake while rinsing and move about a 1/2” every 8 months or so.

How do you handle leveling? How is vibration?

I didn’t level haha. Two years later and this is the first time I think about that. The vibration isn’t bad in my opinion. When I wash bed sheets, a heavy coat it vibrates a lot but with the wheels lock it really isn’t a problem. The washer on the platform doesn’t move so I am not worried about my washer falling. But I find myself having to unlock the wheels and straightening the washer like once every 6 months or so

When you stack dryer on top of washer how does it impact the vertically challenged, shouldn't the manufacturers move the controls to the lower part of the dryer? Those 5 ft and under will love it. Come on LG take the lead.

Samsung's newer sets have a wiring setup that turns the washer's controls into both washer and dryer which renders the top controls unused

Lol, us not so short people 6' would have trouble reaching the controls if the dryer was on the floor next to the washer. Lol

How do you reach back wheels to lock/ unlock?

I lay on the floor and lock them. Since I don’t move it often I see it as not being too much of a pain
