I do something kind of like this. I have things purchased for special occasions. Father’s Day. Anniversary. It helps remember special days 😊 hope you have an amazing day❤
I have 4 of this Arc small boulder wallet and I put many small EDC items in the wallet and just clip all 4 wallets horizontally to my belt, it sits perfectly over my belt, you can hardly notice it's there! This is the most useful wallet for EDC items that I have ever used!
I’ve been using your dangler trick for all of 2023 (Rovyvon A8 + keysmart magnet + 58 mm Victorinox) and it’s been so great that I have no reason to change it up in 2024, at least not yet!
Those keysmart magnets are super strong, I carry one on my keyring just to use as a magnet, I don't tether off of it, I use TEC Accessories Stainless Steel Python Clips instead.
I don't have the same budget as this EDC, but the concept and types of tools are pretty much what I am aiming at for my own EDC. With two major differences: I don't pocket carry and my wallet will be something stand-alone. My backpack goes literally everywhere with me, and I have a lot of tech concerns I prepare for, so organization is a huge thing for me.
EDC is what works for each individual....There is no right and wrong. Most people have keys, wallet...and after that anything goes. A lot of my older friends still don't own a smart phone. I carry one, and hardly use it. I like a watch. I carry a multi tool and Knipex Cobra...but rarely seem to use. But...Super handy when needed! I could probably get by with a folding knife...and my SAK Rambler...and a couple of flashlights, and be good...but carry things "just in case"....For a pen on work days....it has to be a one handed one...with no removable cap to lose.
Just received a Nitecore MT2A Pro flashlight today as I was busy watching this video. Initial impression is good - will be tested on the evening dog walks. It can use two standard AA batteries but comes with a special USB-C rechargeable battery that provides a higher output.
17:50 it has a dull, thicker "spine" because it is a Bushcraft-style. You need that for hitting it with a large stick to use as a wedge. Usually Bushcraft isnt EDC unless you're in the boonies/Bayou.
Outstanding job summarizing your EDC, and choices. My favorite watch, hands down, is my Vortic Boston 470 model, which is a piece of history, with a Leatherman Tread watchband. Although it is a little on the heavy side (off-wrist) once you put it on it is very comfortable and gives me 17 additional backup tools.
About UV-light…I have a small Rovyvon on my keychain, it has UV and I use it to charge the lume on my watch. This is especially useful during these dark winter months 👍 Great video btw! Really enjoy your channel.
I have a $15 casio walmart special that I use (and replace) for beater applications, and a decent fossil mechanical watch for classier situations. just added that casio lineage to my "collection" because it seems like a good middle ground, so thanks
Full-size Multi Tool isn't necessary for me to carry everywhere I go every day, I know it is for some but I'm having a growing urge to start designing a custom EDC knife/light duty multi tool. You have been nothing but inspiration!
Good call out. I think tools like the sog flash MT need to be explored more. For a long time pliers have been the main focus of a multitool. The knife needs a little more focus again.@@maxlvledc
I've been carrying a Redeemed Creations front bi-fold now for a few years and admittedly, I forgot the companies name. Thanks to your video, I remember! Great video. Keep rocking.
My current EDC is quiete simple. Leatherman Free T4, O-Light Warrior Nano, an uncool bison leather wallet, a box with bandaids/Neosporin, small pill container with a couple of NSAID and benadryl. Watch is a Garmen Instinct Solar. Cellphone of course and for self defense pepper spray, a pistol with one spare magazine. I carry additional items depending on requirements.
@@MJCarrilloCastro i have it's big brother the Warrior 3 S which is too big for EDC and the Nano fits into my preference low signature items. I have reduced what I carry to what I actually use on daily basis and add things I need for a specific purpose.
That Fenix flashlight is hands down the best work light edc light I've ever owned. My only complaint is I wish they designed the pocketclip to sit a little deeper. Hard to do but I do get scared it'll fall out.
It'd be cool to see some basic emergency medical items in there. Bandaids take up little space and might be used frequently, and a strap-style tourniquet would be used infrequently (hopefully never) but could save someone's life (though, a belt can work). There are probably other reasonable things to include I'm not thinking of.
Would love to see you review walking sticks, especially linger "trekking poles." I use a 55" stick, 1 1/2 diameter, with a pick up tool and a 90 degree angle light zip tied to it. VERY handy, and adds another flashlight to the ensemble. Can't have too many! I also attach a small Fenix 360 lmen light to a wrist band I wear. Comes in real handy to just be able to touch your right hand to you left and have a light on that is already pointed ahead.
The only things I've added to my edc last yr was a Nitecore NU33 and a Klarus XT1A and recently replaced that with a Klarus XT1C Also got a Klarus HM3 but I don't like it much. There's no safety for it, it'll turn on easily in your pocket/pouch/bag If they can upgrade it so you have to fast click 3x to lock/unlock and then long press to turn on/off it would be better. It only has blinking red no solid red, no SOS, no beacon mode either. If they can jam pack all those features in that small headlamp that would be great
Not sure if this is a european thing, but I like the Victorinox better. The quality is better than Leatherman. But I must confess that I worry about scratches and damages much more and even dropping it scares me for a second while a Leatherman feels like you can throw it under a train. Didn’t know about the clip for the Spirit and will try to get one for mine. So far I just saw the additional corkscrew.
"Made in the USA" is about the same as "Made in China" for most Europeans. We don't connect American made stuff with quality unless it's an artisan made object.
Very impressive. As an active paramedic I have to carry wide variety of items. I do not carry a multi-tool while working. I do carry a folding knife at all times, flashlights (2) and various medical items. Off duty, I always carry a hard use folding knife, flashlight, and SOG powerpint. Of course a pen, and notepad, and pocket reference. Nice video, love your channel and respect your recommendations. Thanks!
I want to organize some useful trunk stuff like first aid, basic cleanup, sleeping stuff if stranded, food and water maybe. Just not sure how to organize it all.
Looks interesting, I like how you can clip it to the back of a phone. If my Vext ever wears out (doubtful), that would be one that I would definitely consider.
What do you actually do in your day job when not reviewing gear? I always wonder what people do where they really do use all this stuff daily, since that's so removed from my daily experience. (Work from home computer stuff.)
I used to be a chemist, then teacher, then worked in Parks and Rec (used edc a ton) now this is my only job basically. Which is why things look very pristine
Streamlight Stylus Pro USB has been a great flashlight for me for over a year.... Oh... Yeah... a S&W M&P pistol with 2 spare mags is good for EDC too!!
I feel like a food prep knife is necessarily separate tool to all other tools, especially the dirty knife, and especially when cooking for not only yourself. It you want to take this concept to the extreme, carry kosher dairy and meat knives 😉
I never much cared for fixed blades myself due to the bulkiness of them and being hard to hide on my fat body. Also working at a college makes me weary of carrying a knife.
The Arc Company Bolder XL is my jam! Mostly I went with the XL because I want my cash folded once. I can't stand trifolding bills. Inside I currently carry cash in the back slot folded in half (I like to have cash for tipping servers and such) and cards in the front two slots (I think 7ish between license, credit cards, and insurance cards). On the front I have a Rite in the Rain Pocket Pen on the left (though you have to be careful since no clip it can slide out when the wallet is open but I've just gotten used to being careful of that) and a RovyVon Angel Eyes E3 on the right (though that might change to an Olight). In the back slot I have a few bandages and business cards. I can't say enough great things about Arc Company stuff. So well designed and made! I also just got The Marksman case to use as an EDC writing kit and have a notebook, Rite in the Rain pen, Rite in the Rain pencil, eraser, and small ruler/template guide in it. I've got a Victorinox Manager on my key chain, but with a Nite Ize carabiner connector. Trying to use the small tools while keeping the rest of your key chain items out of the way is a pain in the ass. I have a magnetic connector for my Rovyvon.
I really liked the wallet section of this video as I have been considering the Arc Bolder myself. I'm just curious what do you do in your day job? I've been watching your videos for a year or so now and have bought some great gear you have recommended but I'm curious how you actually find need for it in real life. Perhaps you made more videos on this topic earlier in the channel but I haven't seen much mention of that recently. Just curious.
I'm always getting asked to help with this or that from family members or just people I know. That is part of it. I've always loved having a spectrum of tools on me, as it came in handy for most of my past jobs. Atm this is full time so they get less use..but I still try to work on making it more and more efficient.
I have never had trouble going g through airport security in the US and Europe with my Jetsetter. Last week Disneyland security stopped me. The Jetsetter and titanium whistle were not allowed.
Why does no one consider a flame source as useful for edc? I’m not a rural or survival type, I’m quite urban. But having a little torch lighter is a game changer. Burn off a stray thread, warm up something rubber, loosen a tight bolt with some heat expansion. Not to mention lighting things on fire….
You're not alone. Many people carry a lighter EDC. Hey, 80 years ago everyone did just for a smoke. Speaking of that, I'd live to see a quality flashlight with an arc lighter on it (though, yes, they aren't usable for all applications a gas lighter is).

That's a lot of redundancy in your kit at the end. I count 2 scissors, 2 pliers, 3 screwdrivers, 3 blades (I think the arc has 2 or 3?)... Seems like you could ciut a third of it out without losing any functionality. Like, you have 3 multitools alone. (Arc, jetsetter, keyring.) Just seems unnecessary weight.
Hmm, I built the wallet keys as a layer, the multitool is another layer...I do agree to some extent though. I try to only add redundancy that gives different functions. Blades: utility knife, saw, magnacut blade (don't think there is another)
I agree with the complaint, but I also find redundancy tends to happen because tools have minimal configurability. Better to have a little waste in redundancy than to be missing something that comes in handy frequently.
Re Wallet: What would you suggest to look at, if you carry a Victorinox Explorer, a Pen, and want to carry cards as well? The Explorer makes it hard to find something, that doesnt leave me wanting for more.
I'm a sports guy, so a lot of these objects are overkill for me. But here's my Setup Keys: -Standard physical car key. -Keyring with 4 keys -Olight i1R 2 Pro Keychain Flashlight Folding Knife: -Benchmade Bugout 20cv -Flytanium Crossfade Scales Utility Knife: -TiRant Razor V2 with High-Carbon steel Razor Blades Wallet: Genuine Leather Bi-Fold Wallet (Generic store bought 10 years ago), Black Watch: Suunto 9 Peak Pro Rings: Wedding Ring Headphones: Bose NC700 in Silver And that's it!
What a beautiful blade!!! Amazing sword!!!
Hey mate what have you done to the scales of your arc ?

Special laser cut stickers. I added a link in description
At my age, I'm starting to have to consider my reading glasses as an EDC item, lol.
I switched 2 years ago to a hard card wallet from pul pularys. It has italian leather, and slim(8-10 cards). I keep cash separate from this
Re Wallet: What would you suggest to look at, if you carry a Victorinox Explorer, a Pen, and want to carry cards as well? The Explorer makes it hard to find something, that doesnt leave me wanting for more.
Explorer is too thick for a wallet imo
The xl Bolder will work though
I'm a sports guy, so a lot of these objects are overkill for me. But here's my Setup
Keys:
-Standard physical car key.
-Keyring with 4 keys
-Olight i1R 2 Pro Keychain Flashlight
Folding Knife:
-Benchmade Bugout 20cv
-Flytanium Crossfade Scales
Utility Knife:
-TiRant Razor V2 with High-Carbon steel Razor Blades
Wallet:
Genuine Leather Bi-Fold Wallet (Generic store bought 10 years ago), Black
Watch:
Suunto 9 Peak Pro
Rings:
Wedding Ring
Headphones:
Bose NC700 in Silver
And that's it! Though I do have a fairly robust collection of folding knives. Among my favorite are:
-Grimsmo Rask
-Herman Ishtar
-Benchmade 940
-TRM Atom
-Tom Mayo Mach3
-Small Sebenza31
Knife Sharpener:
Wicked Edge Gen4 Pro
Dom, I wish you had mentioned the price of each item you covered.
Expensive
There are links to the items in the video notes
I don't think viewers should have to look up such an important stat outside of the video itself.
@@uuuultraWell you knew THAT much from the start, silly. (lol)
The issue is price variation..every time I make these videos, prices go up...and then ppl come back to complain. It just simpler to leave it out.
I’m interested in the Boulder XL. Can it fit my Leatherman Arc or Roxon Phantom multitools. I’m enjoying the videos by the way
Yes...but it's bulky If you do that
I'd be interesting in a link for those sheaths, too.
Which ones?
I'd recommend checking out my sheath video. I was more specific and point out things of avoid
@@maxlvledceven better! Thanks!
Where did you get the components to make the Ti jetsetter?
