I’d say Amulet of Shadows is the most OP item you can get in the early game. Allows you to steal everything from the Vivec Great House vaults, Ghostgate, not to mention you can evade enemies, sleep around enemies, and still complete actions without chameleon disengaging like invisibility does.

At around 7:30, the reason you were having so much trouble with the merchant is that you had failed to make barter offers several times. I have well over 10k hours playing Morrowind since it came out. I think my #1 "must have" early on is the Boots of Blinding Speed. As long as you have a resist magika 100% spell on self for 2 seconds, you can cast that then quickly equip the boots, retaining the positive effect (super speed) without the negative (blindness). You do not need to keep casting the spell to not get blinded, just each time you put them on. You can buy a resist magika spell in Seyda Neen at the traders then make a 100% resist spell in the Balmora Mages Guild. If your resist magika spell isn't 100%, then it will make things darker. 50% resist magika makes things 50% darker when you equip the boots vs normal vision, 100% resist your vision doesn't change. If you only have 10% resist magika, you can run around and not bump into stuff maybe, but things will be very dark. If you don't have a resist magika spell, you'll need to rely on the minimap to move around since you will be in 100% darkness. I try to not use this in fights, since there are way better boots to wear if you aren't trying to be the Flash. It is very useful, however, for traveling to places without fast travels available and it not taking 20 minutes with only low lvl enemies (damn lil maggots...) to kill in between with no real loot. My biggest gripe with Morrowind is the vast emptiness I must travel through with no enemies or loot. These boots let me traverse that vast emptiness in record time without cheats. I don't even consider it a Glitch to use 100% resist magika before equipping cursed gear, I think the devs gave us all the gear to use, and some needed a little figuring out.

I dunno if it's possible for someone to come on as more of an all-around good dude than you! :) Thanks for helping me delve, once more, into this game, with these series and into the world of TESC with your rare but great lore videos! I believe that there is a spectrum in game design that ranges from balance all the way to variety and... well... it's pretty clear where MW lands hehe. It's broken and that's kind of the point. It's really a feature. Imo it has mainly to do with the world *truly* being open, unlike... say - FallOut New Vegas (love that game), where the high level enemy placement + Hi-Lvl spawn points + zone transitions of the oblivion gamebryo engine, funnel the player into a more controlled player progression. Morrowind said screw that and I love it for it. Cheers mate! ;) :)
All of these were new to me except the shield despite the many many hours I've put into this game. I like that. Learning new things when you thought you knew it all is awesome
Unless playing a mage, I usually make a beeline for the Boots of the Apostle in Berandas, the stronghold south of Gnisis. Bit hard to run past all the baddies in the fort but the reward is a pair of boots with a good levitation spell attached to them.
If you don't mind some tough battles and and you aren't planning on doing the mages guild quest line you can grab the Necromancers amulet which constantly gives you a massive 25 intelligence restores 1 point of health 25% spell absorption and last but not least 25% resistance to normal weapons. That isn't all though. If you think you can take down a vampire you can grab Marara's which constantly gives you 20% reflect fortifies acrobatics 10 points and last but not least 40% resistance to normal weapons which can stack with the 25% normal weapons resistance from the Necromancers amulet to give 65% resistance to normal weapons which happens to be the most common types of weapons in the game. Which means a lot less damage being dealt to you against most enemies. The reflect and spell absorption also help against mages as well. Granted these are some tough battles but if you know how to pull it off they are doable at really low levels with preparation.
It's so amazing to see such a great channel dedicated to the greatest game of all time. If you know, you know. I literally used to go over to my friends house at 7am on a weekend to sit and watch him play this game until I blagged my mum enough to get a PC so I could play it myself lol. Amazing times.
The pilgrim's lantern is a cool little item that I had never even heard of before this video but I'm not sure it's really useful. Are light sources something people really struggle with in this game? I can honestly say that I have never bothered using torches or anything like that. One item I think is a serious QOL upgrade especially for people wearing heavy armor is the Redas Robe Of Deeds found in Redas Ancenstral Tomb south of Molag Mar. Constant effect 50 feather makes a huge difference when wearing heavier armor.
It's useful for players that use mods like True Light & Darkness to make dark places truly dark, it makes tombs and caves more immersive as there's usually no light sources other than a few torches if you're lucky
@@CoffeeNutGaming It really made enchanted items feel SO much more powerful and usable. Enchanted weapons that recharged themselves felt like complete game changers when you got them, versus Oblivion on where they felt like an engine I had to keep refilling to run properly
Pillows and pillowforts are the best. It's fun to make Caius into a pillow worm, his platter, spoon, sugar and skooma pipe on the pillow counter in front of his face. Or just make an asylum home for him by covering the walls with pillows. Or making hunting castles in the wilds. Of course there's a new mod for constructing stuff just out of the oven.
Fists of Randagulf Constant Effect Fortify Agility 20 pts on Self (left) Fortify Strength 20 pts on Self (right) Found in Ilunibi (northwest from Gnaar Mok), Soul's Rattle section, behind the trough on the western side of the large room to the northeast (next to the Sixth House bells). These are the highest rated gauntlets in the game. I recommend being at least level 8 to get them.
I always find it super interesting to see how other people pronounce the names of things from this game I've always said Hla Oad as "hLaa-Owed" vs your "H'la-oAhd" and always said Khuul as "Cool" vs your "Cull" Since next to no voiced dialogue exists in Morrowind, everything is up to the player's interpretation to decide what makes sense I guess my philosophy with most of them is to go with either an East Asian or Pacific Islander approach for most of the very unfamiliar ones just because of the parallels in emphasis of cultural traditions and tribalism that exist with the peoples of the land
I think you can find the Pilgrim's Lantern on the ledge about the guy you kill to get the Lord's Mail (at least I've found one there and requires Levitate). Granted it's a lot harder to get that one than the one above Khuul, but I never knew there were 2 of them.
Didn't know about the first ring, but my go to list at the start of the game is: - Mentor's Ring (literally 2 minute walk from Seyda Need) - Amulet of Shadows - Boots of Blinding Speed - Mara's Ring
Not sure what you did to bug your game out, but I just had to be sure for myself: I checked in my game and the shield does indeed use charge. Still strong, but not as ridiculous as seen in this vid.
Console command "ra" resets actor positions (might reset something it's not supposed to but I haven't had any issue with it) Let's you put the stilt strider dudes back on their platform
If you swim a bit further in the water, there is an ancient key that opens the door to the room with the shield. To be fair I only went to this place because of your video and missed the ramp out of the water.
I prefer grabbing the bow of shadows early on vs that ring. It's just north of the zainab camp & i always end up going there early for merc training anyways. Only need 1 ekash scroll to get it & has the extra enchant of increased speed. Helps zoom around late game with the ten pace boots & the high speed you (should) have by then
I've been playing Morrowind since it was released but i haven't known anything about the lantern before watching this video! 🤯 After so many years Morrowind still surprises me That's the quality of making games we've always been needed
Love the videos. Morrowind was THAT game for me that changed my whole outlook on video games, especially RPGs. Playing thru again first time in 20 years. Question - are you using the boots of blinding speed in your videos? Also to clarify once in the water while the lantern is lit and it's gone forever?
Thank you so much for putting all these awesome videos out there!!! Do you think you could include what level you are when you're going into these dungeons?
7:19 the reason this happens is because each time your offer is refused, it lowers your disposition (not permanently). Same with when your persuasion fails. All you have to do is exit out of the conversation & re-enter. The disposition should return to whatever you had it at last (40% for most normal NPC's upon first meeting, 80% for say something like when Fargoth tells Arille you are his friend).
Azura's star is a reusable soul gem that holds master souls. Its rewarded for the Azura's shrine quest. Use it to enchant apparel/weapons with constant effect spells or create useful spells such as 'summon all daedric gear - gear that i am already wearing that better, for 5 mins' (daedric gear without weight) or 'open 100 lock'. Boots of Blinding speed are essential for any game. Dont ask where to find them but somewhere near Hla Oad from a fugitive
Denstagmers ring is a tribute to a forum user who passed away before release of the game. Found this ring organically and wondered about the origin of its name. I also carry Bryants ashes.
Every time a buy or sell fails the merchant's disposition lowers. This makes it so you have to increase or lower the price by quite a lot. Lets say there is a item, and the Merchant wants 100 septims for it. You haggle for it to be 90 Septims, it fails, now you have to increase it to like 115 Septims to make him/her accept the deal.
The Ring of Aversion is key to early money-making exploits too. You can go to Ghorak Manor and sell the starting gear to Creeper, buy the Ring across the street, go back to Ghorak, use it to steal their Orcish armor pieces and sell them to Creeper for almost his full 5k
You can literally open the crate, take the orcish armor, walk downstairs, and sell it to Creeper with nothing more than a verbal warning. There’s no need to try and be sneaky, especially since the invisibility breaks when you open the crate (so you did what everybody else does, but with extra steps).

Vampiric ring from Skeleton War Wizard in Ald Redaynia it can absorb both heath and fatigue 20-30 in 10 second on touch it was useful for close combat build if you low on magicka or potions
Whenever a shop keeper refuses an offer, their disposition drops by 1. But it's not persistent. Just quit the dialogue and talk to them again, then they're back to normal.
My first time playing, the silt strider guy in Balmora glitched the same way. I fucking started a new game because I couldn't find him. Came back to that character another day and spotted him by accident lmao

Cheers mate! ;) :)
17:52 That ghost is probably the spirit of the grand warrior you were just going on about, and you just swatted him away like a fly. 😂
All of these were new to me except the shield despite the many many hours I've put into this game.
I like that. Learning new things when you thought you knew it all is awesome
I showed up a year late to crack up at 'Hainab stole my pants!' guy. Mhmmm that's what they all say!
Unless playing a mage, I usually make a beeline for the Boots of the Apostle in Berandas, the stronghold south of Gnisis. Bit hard to run past all the baddies in the fort but the reward is a pair of boots with a good levitation spell attached to them.
Very nice. I have not seen that lantern before. Thank you 🙃☕❤❤❤
Just came across your Larry the wizard let’s play and it’s gettin me through work 😂💪
Randomly found that dungeon in my very first play through and I didn’t know that shield was up there! Gotta go back and get it. Thank you!
Enjoy the loot! 🤘
I miss decorating my house without getting frusterated like in oblivion skyrim
Omg Right? The physics in the newer games make me sad cause i cant set stuff everywhere :(
If you don't mind some tough battles and and you aren't planning on doing the mages guild quest line you can grab the Necromancers amulet which constantly gives you a massive 25 intelligence restores 1 point of health 25% spell absorption and last but not least 25% resistance to normal weapons.
The D. Bryant urn is actually an homage to someone by Bethesda. I don’t remember if he was a team or community/official forum member though
It's so amazing to see such a great channel dedicated to the greatest game of all time. If you know, you know.
I literally used to go over to my friends house at 7am on a weekend to sit and watch him play this game until I blagged my mum enough to get a PC so I could play it myself lol. Amazing times.
Kudos for You for this great morrowind content.
It's useful for players that use mods like True Light & Darkness to make dark places truly dark, it makes tombs and caves more immersive as there's usually no light sources other than a few torches if you're lucky
lol i was exploring and found my way into the last cave u showed and i actually didnt notice the shield, ill have to go back and grab it
I never knew enchanted items recharged themselves by resting. I always thought you had to recharge them with soul gems.
Definitely a nice perk of Morrowind vs the later Elder Scrolls games. Get to save all those soul gems for juicy enchantments.
Didnt know that either
Higher enchanting skill recharges it faster too.
Fists of Randagulf
Constant Effect
Fortify Agility 20 pts on Self (left)
Fortify Strength 20 pts on Self (right)
Found in Ilunibi (northwest from Gnaar Mok), Soul's Rattle section, behind the trough on the western side of the large room to the northeast (next to the Sixth House bells). These are the highest rated gauntlets in the game. I recommend being at least level 8 to get them.
I always find it super interesting to see how other people pronounce the names of things from this game
I've always said Hla Oad as "hLaa-Owed" vs your "H'la-oAhd"
and always said Khuul as "Cool" vs your "Cull"
Since next to no voiced dialogue exists in Morrowind, everything is up to the player's interpretation to decide what makes sense
I guess my philosophy with most of them is to go with either an East Asian or Pacific Islander approach for most of the very unfamiliar ones just because of the parallels in emphasis of cultural traditions and tribalism that exist with the peoples of the land
I think you can find the Pilgrim's Lantern on the ledge about the guy you kill to get the Lord's Mail (at least I've found one there and requires Levitate). Granted it's a lot harder to get that one than the one above Khuul, but I never knew there were 2 of them.
Didn't know about the first ring, but my go to list at the start of the game is:
- Mentor's Ring (literally 2 minute walk from Seyda Need)
- Amulet of Shadows
- Boots of Blinding Speed
- Mara's Ring
Sword of white woe in balmora.
redas robe of deeds.
vampiric ring
Not sure what you did to bug your game out, but I just had to be sure for myself: I checked in my game and the shield does indeed use charge. Still strong, but not as ridiculous as seen in this vid.
Love your Obituary tee shirt man ❤
Hell yeah - one of my favs 🤘
Console command "ra" resets actor positions (might reset something it's not supposed to but I haven't had any issue with it)
Let's you put the stilt strider dudes back on their platform
After so many years Morrowind still surprises me
That's the quality of making games we've always been needed
Love the videos. Morrowind was THAT game for me that changed my whole outlook on video games, especially RPGs. Playing thru again first time in 20 years. Question - are you using the boots of blinding speed in your videos? Also to clarify once in the water while the lantern is lit and it's gone forever?
Thank you so much for putting all these awesome videos out there!!! Do you think you could include what level you are when you're going into these dungeons?
boots of blinding speed and cuirass of the saviors hide are essential in morrowind
Darius may bring PTSD for LoL players, but for me, it always brings fun memories of shooting giant space fish.
I prefer the Amulet of Shadows over the ring of aversion. Still great video.
You are killing it with these videos, so much good info
7:19 the reason this happens is because each time your offer is refused, it lowers your disposition (not permanently). Same with when your persuasion fails. All you have to do is exit out of the conversation & re-enter. The disposition should return to whatever you had it at last (40% for most normal NPC's upon first meeting, 80% for say something like when Fargoth tells Arille you are his friend).
4:15 When this happens, you can open the console and type "reset actors" or just "ra" to put him back to the dock.
Glad to see morrowind guides being made
Hey man I just wanted to say thanks for this vid. I grabbed the ring & shield the morning and they really helped me out!
Glad to hear it! Best of luck on your adventures 🙏
You should stream a Morrowind play through again man
Denstagmers ring is a tribute to a forum user who passed away before release of the game. Found this ring organically and wondered about the origin of its name. I also carry Bryants ashes.
very useful tips! Great video as always!
I've had them refuse a sell offer and I lowered the price by one gold and they accepted.
Ibar-Dad has a hidden key for the door. You just have to look for a different root once you jump in the water. It is protected by a daedroth
There’s no need to try and be sneaky, especially since the invisibility breaks when you open the crate (so you did what everybody else does, but with extra steps).
it also improves your enemies quality of death
Bro, I've been playing Morrowind since 2003, I beat it when I was a kid, but I was speed running through it and I barely remember it😭 I didn't explore very much, I got it on PC and I have not stopped playing it for at least a whole week. I take that stuff to work with me and played in my car on break. There's not a game out there that has the amount of freedom that this game does. I mean thumbs up on this game
the bitter cup is another great one
When you mentioned Darius in league I laughed, I got the dunkmaster skin for him so people like me were the ones causing your pain
Vampiric ring from Skeleton War Wizard in Ald Redaynia it can absorb both heath and fatigue 20-30 in 10 second on touch it was useful for close combat build if you low on magicka or potions
see I expected the Amulet of Recall to be the move with Monsieur Germain. Interesting
Whenever a shop keeper refuses an offer, their disposition drops by 1. But it's not persistent. Just quit the dialogue and talk to them again, then they're back to normal.
Nice obituary shirt. Cause of death and slowly we rot are awesome
My first time playing, the silt strider guy in Balmora glitched the same way. I fucking started a new game because I couldn't find him. Came back to that character another day and spotted him by accident lmao
I always buy Ring of Aversion at the start. Good until you got the Khajeet Ring also Daedric Tower Shield enchanted with azura's star can heal you constantly
Love these videos man cant wait to grab these items when i start morrowind!
I got pulled over for rolling a stop sign. After the cop looked over my license and registration, she asked me where I was going and I said, "Balmora." She told me to stay clear of the thieves guild and let me go.
"Godspeed, sir"
Just saw your videos and now I love the game
That's awesome to hear! Welcome to Vvardenfell
There are loads of pillows in that ship, and oh my god, that sheild is amazing. I stumbled across early on. Absolutely broken early on. Best not to use the heal enchantment early on
Ibar dad is the best place when u can get your daedric tower shield with 225 enchantment points :) ... Just run it couple of times and golden saint with it equipped definitely appear
4:06 Type "ra" into console and the actors will be placed back to their origin point.
I like how he drops moon sugar in his shop and then questions why his disposition is at 11 😂😂😂
love your vids man
2 of my more favorite items are the robes of st roris and the daedric crescent. although the robes were nerfed in goty :(
Those robes were nerfed way before GOTY, they got nerfed in one of the game's earliest patches because they were broken as fuck.
I love finding lutes and fat lutes near my loot
You can get Daedric Dai-Katana level 1 in Dren Plantation (small wooden hut).
Good video!
We actually do know D. Bryant is- but it's an easter egg rather than in canon thing.
D. Bryant ashes (along with Lord Brinne's ashes in the Samarys Ancestral Tomb) is a tribute to a member of the Elder Scrolls forums who passed away while Morrowind was in production.
Also, for the silt strider guy in Gnisis- when there try using the RA (or "resetactors" console command)- it shoujld put him back to where he should be.
You beat me to it lol, I wad about to type out almost the same thing
The fact that he says we don't know who this guy is shows how unprepared this guy is, shameful to ignore such a sweet easter egg moment.
When your NPCs fall off their platforms type 'resetactors' in the console to put them back, you need to be in render distance obviously
Amulet of Shadows, north West of Gnisis along the roads, help the lady retrieve her ring in a small pond. She and a chameleons archer will attack you. Kill them, and take the amulet from the archer. 80% chameleon.
I've completed the main quest in Morrowind 3 or 4 times and I've never found the boots of blinding speed 😂
Nice video!
Badass shirt \m/
I thought I knew about every good item in Morrowind but I've never heard of the Pilgrim's Lantern before.
That is one I never heard of. I'm definitely using it if I play Morrowind again. Haven't played for over 15 years lol... Thinking about getting it again though, just to see what it looks like with modern graphics.
Great, thanks
Hey coffee, a total begginer.. Just started my journey to the elder Scrolls world from Morrowind, and I became a huge fan of you right away. So, I have a question if you don't mind, I am a nord warrior, and I bought a level 100 open spell, although I don't have the magica to use it to the level 70 door, what should I do? Need to play more until I have the intelligence? Should I not buy spells as a warrior, and use only potions and scrolls? Thanks a lot my man 😎
Better off potion or scrolls unless you plan on training alteration as a secondary skill the level 100 unlock is a high level spell
