That we have actual color recording of Hendrix tells it all! There were no video recording cameras, no cell phones, yet Hendrix is being filmed in color when color TV didn't come out to the general population until 1970. We have color film of a phenomenon! It was recognized even then as not many musicians were filmed in color unless they played in concert with Hendrix.
Mitch Mitchell on drums, Noel Redding bass, both from the UK. He went over there because he couldn't get any traction here. I saw him in '68 at an old armory building in Maine where I played HS basketball. My first concert ever. Jimi played Foxey Lady and decapitated his mic stand. Mitch demolished his drum kit. Very loud, very amazing. Jimi opened a portal to another dimension and passed on before he could close it
Thank you so much for this! Like many others I've loved Jimi Hendrix's music from waaay back. He'll never be surpassed imho. Good to see younger people appreciating his sound and sheer talent. As a suggestion, try the longer version of Voodoo Chile. It's pure LOTR/GOT, like I see much of his content to be. It's about 15 mins long and very bluesy - as many of the early rock songs were.
🌸 ever since the movie Wayne's world came out, I cannot listen to this song without thinking of Dana carvey and just laughing hysterically😅 you got to look up that clip, dude
Jimmi broke the boundaries as to what could be expected from the guitar. It may have been impossible to remedy due to the abuse he put on the guitar but jimmi was always out of tune. Doesn't matter much. When he picked up a guitar ....
