Nuno doesn’t get the credit he deserves as a singer. His guitar playing overshadows his incredible singing voice.
I bet most people that only know this song by Extreme have no idea what a monster he is on the guitar.
@@revredbeard3289 This was my biggest problem with people when this song came out! The album, Pornograffiti featuring this song and the song "Hole Hearted" still gets plays from me. That whole album is one big guitar solo. Even his rhythm playing. I'm a drummer that has much love for great guitar work. Nuno is in my top 5 and that album is a treasure. Another example of a killer guitarist with great backing vocals is Ritchie Sambora. Monster player as well.
@@revredbeard3289 Brian may of queen said the get the funk out solo was as good as any solo ever written. Also added that he couldn’t play the solo himself.
This chick is a perfect example. Nuno carried the entire show. His voice and playing was fucking amazing.
@@wxmaggot5669 I agree "whole heartedly" with you! Honestly, More than words and Hole Hearted doesn't at all represent Extreme in my opinion. It's quite the leap from More than words to He-man woman hater when it comes to guitar work.
I love the Tyler did not over blast him when he could easily do.
Steven Tyler’s voice doesn’t age. It’s just simply amazing. Nuno is one of my all time favorite musicians too.
Steven voice is amazing l love ❤❤❤❤
Crave by Nuno Bettencourt is one of the most underestimated song of the 90s.
I haven't heard Nuno Bettencourt in ages! Thanks for this.
Check out the game of thrones guitar cover...good stuff
I'm lucky I still see him love Massachusetts
He was playing with Rihanna last decade
Tyler made backing vocals on the 2nd Left Banke album, he knows a thing or two about vocal harmonies...
this was just gorgeous
To Don’t Walk Away Renee?
@@TheDivayenta Walk Away Renee is in the first album
If you look up Rock Star, there's a picture of Steve Tyler with a bottle of JD in one hand and a cigarette in the other and a young woman draped on the floor clinging to one of his Spandex clad thighs. Also he is a magnificent singer!
that's Johnny Thunders, or was it David Johansen? or both... The NY Dolls were savage. Aerosmith are most known for drugs than for groupies
@@JulioLeonFandinho very true lol
So many memories.
This song was played at my wedding.
Nuno finally getting some love! Thank you Beth
Nuno is still so hot after all those years!
Still not doing any Aussies , we have some of the best vocalists on the planet !
Australia has like 8/10 of the best real vocalists on the planet
Great choice!
Thanks Beth, love this song. I don't think I knew about this performance. 😀
Also "A lifetime full of color" 🤣. I'm going to borrow that one. Very diplomatic of you!
Awesome
For his age Steven Tyler is a ridiculously good singer. What is he 72?
Indeed. His voice has hardly changed.
Plus he snorted up half of Peru. The guy is a freak of nature.
74 now, of course this performance was in 2014. The most recent live performance I've seen is 2019 of Aerosmith's residency in Vegas and he still sounded stellar .
"a lifestyle full of color" i like that . thats one way to describe steven tyler's lifestyle lol
That's what he used to call his drugs, pretty colors.
I feel when i watch this (and other videos by real stars) that both these guys demonstrate that there is something much bigger than all the singing lessons and music degrees in the world. Actual rock talent. It does not matter how much music school you have been to or how many lessons you have taken or taught, you cannot do what these two or others do. Magic not science.
A couple of reactions I'd love to see you do:
Benjamin Clementine. Gorgeous voice, unique style, brilliant pianist. Good choices would be I Won't Complain or Cornerstone.
Shea Diamond (amazing voice, massively underrecognized), either I am Her or American Pie. Or, since it's the holidays, her Mrs. Claus.
Hi from Terceira Island, homeland of Nuno Bettencourt
Thanks Beth! One of my all-time favourite songs, and Nuno is a guitar god :) I wonder whether you've heard "Lost in a wave" by Landmvrks - some very interesting vocal technique there that I'd be interested to hear your thoughts one - particularly with regard to vocal damage (say no more!).
Super cool..
I would love to see you listening to John Farnham for the first time - Australia hasn’t named him The Voice for nothing!
If you haven't, please check out greg lake performing 'still you turn me on' at california jam (1974)
Nuno Bettencourt, Zakk Wylde: Sideways. Great duet.
You really have to check out PLUSH's live cover of AIC Down in a Hole (SiriusXM Octane Virtual Concert) Awesome voices!
awesome🤟🇯🇵
Might be worth looking at The Voice by John Farnham or Jimmy Barnes Flame Trees or even Billy Thorpe singing Most people I know. None of them hold back.
Girls tempt to like Nuno.
Go figure 🤔
Don't underestimate Gary Cherone though. More than words is a very tough song to sing. Al the flips between head and chest...
Why didn't you react to the original? Steven Tyler is or was a great rock singer. But it's the vocals between Gary and Nuno that shows the beauty of this song. I've slowly become a big fan of Gary's. He has range. Check out Extreme's new album "Six." Gary's vocals are stunning. Nuno has said this is the best Gary ever sang on record.
I'm a terrible singer with a very narrow range. Ive always liked this song because Nuno's parts are right dead in the middle of my range and I can really belt them out quite well in my opinion.
Omg, same! I’m a loss alto and Nuno’s harmonizing sits perfectly in my chest voice. In fact, when I sing along to it, I barely even notice Gary’s melody 😂

THANKS BERTH, NEXT MON LAFERTE FLOR DE AMAPOLA VIVO.
"A lifestyle full of color..." 🤣 Now what an appropriately *_British_* way of saying it! Steven Tyler called it being FUBAR 🤣
Could you please react to rock band TNT live Japan 89, the singers voice is on a different level
Yes! Tony Harnell is incredible.
Plus he's got the best hair ever. It's like a lions Mane.
Stan Walker Ultralight Beam (Kayne cover)
nuno is probably the most creative player since EVH
Nunoooo
It was a cute version but I'll be honest I don't think Steven did as good of a job as Gary traditionally does. I did love the fact that Nuno some of Gary's part and he did an awesome job! It was a cute version for sure
😎✌🏻

DO U2 STAY FARAWAY SO CLOSE OFFICIAL VIDEO
for fun you shoulda done the Jack Black version... he sings it well thou
What's this from? Pretty cool pairing.
I'm pretty sure American Idol
Beth Roars can you react to Axl Rose from guns n roses voice now a day's compare to Axl rose back in the 80s
Please react to Vince Gill and Alison Krause trying to get over you

ive seen him sound horse like he did at the very end then he clears his throat and sounds impeccably clean.
Great song! By the way... In Nuno's surname, the last "t" is silent. It's a French name.
Um...Nuno is Portuguese, born in the Azores, Portugal.
Nuno first album was a masterpiece. Totally ddnt get credit
Steven with maryLou’s coffee 😉🎅🤶🥳🎄🗽🇺🇸🖖👏👍🤟🤙💪🥂🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎅
This video reaction was all about reacting to Steven Tyler and hardly mentioning Nuno, she didn't mention his guitar playing or the fact that he took all the high parts presumably because Steven Tyler couldn't, I'm not knocking Steven Tyler but to me Nuno was the star of this duet. Still enjoyed the reaction though.
Please watch the original video from Extreme. That's all I have.
This is not Extreme. This is Tyler with Nuno. Gary Cherone was the singer.
When is the next upload coming on your new channel, Beth?
You should react "Song For Love" from Extreme album "Pornografitti" 👍
Beth, watch those Girls, Celtic Woman, singing Water Under the Bridge ua-cam.com/video/Bfj3ACD4DJU/v-deo.html
Try also Orinoco Flow and True Colors, they are amazing vocals !
Regardless of how good Steven is, Gary Cherone still sings this way better. Gary and even Nuno don’t get the recognition they deserve for vocal abilities. There is a thought floating around that Gary is just as capable of a singer as Steve Perry. Food for thought
1. Steve Tyler's vocal damage was caused by singing under the influence of massive amounts of cocaine. He'd sing with his throat numb from the coke drips, doing damage he couldn't feel because of the anesthetic effects.
2. This song is about a teenage boy asking his girlfriend for a hand job. It amuses me to no end all the women out there that think it's a beautiful song about intangible love, whereas it's just a guy saying "if you only knew how easy it would be to show me how you feel: All you have to do is close your eyes
And just reach out your hand and touch me"...
And it amuses me to no end how men boil this song down to just sex. In your case you think a teenage boy is asking for a hand job. Wherever did you come up with that? Did you even listen to the lyrics to the entire song? Right after "All you have to do is close your eyes and just reach out your hand and touch me" is followed by "Hold me close; don 't ever let me go." This clearly is a song where the man wants her to show her love by action not just words. And that can be shown by making love or in other ways also. Nuno said saying 'I love you' is easy to say but backing it up is a whole other thing. This is a different type of love song but very beautiful. It's a whole lot deeper than 'I want a hand job.'
Gary Cherrone said he actually wrote it from the perspective of his gf. He didn't have much time for her and would just say he loved her rather than showing it. He regrets it.
I still prefer Gary Cherone to Steve Tyler. I'm a bit disappointed she didn't react to the original.
Gary cherone is the best.
More than is a monolith of modern pop music...S. Tyler's voice does not fit with the song...G. Cherone the orignal singer is by far way more suitable to the song....
When you see the queen melody to Freddy Mercury
I don't like that version I prefer the original. I think you should've reacted to the original
Nuno was awesome as usual...Tyler doesn't fit this at all...sounds terrible
You have no credibility to judge a successful singer lol
@aristotlebaptista6960 as a music fan I have ever right to state my opinion.
