Lol it took me 2 years to find one that was the right price for how well it worked. One time I found one for $750 that didn't even work. The owner had another engine for it, but "it is missing a piston, though it might work".

do you guys have issues with ride height and transitioning from the yard to driveway?
I worry about hitting the butterfly for the motor mount.
Those spacers are not for your ride height or at least not intended for it. When racing on a oval track (I don’t know anything about road course racing) you can shift your weight for going into turns by having more weight on specific spots. The idea is to have your weight shift to you FR allowing for more bite.

Hey mate, nice vid first of all! I was just wondering what mods have you done to your predator? Did you buy a mod kit or just separate parts and install them? If you don't mind me asking how much did the mods cost you and where did you get them from? Also what gear ratio do you run.

How does the predater engine work since its pretty much a set speed with no trans. Because its ment for wood splitters snd snow blowers right? Please respond. I bought an old cart and it needs an engine, but don't want to spend an arm and leg
Do I need a tilted mounting plate? I see you have one and I have a similar go kart with the offset frame and I was wondering if I need one or not.
This looks friggin sweet, living in a small city in Canada it's a bit harder to find a cheap used kart all the guys here want like 1000+ dollars, but i have a question, would a kart frame like the one you have be able to support say a dirt bike engine...like a yfz 450 and how much work would it be to make it into a shifter kart?

i want that exact frame.. its hard to find one that lets u almost lay down in it. i seen u race ur friend with it man i could tell how easy it was to handle ur drift and turns vs ur friends go kart just because ur almost laying down. dude a spoiler with that cart would make it so badass

Jack Crown Thank you! As you've probably seen I made a "how to change a go kart sprocket" video. That's about it for explicit tutorials, but the builds we do often include how to do what we're doing (if that makes sense).

Jack Crown Ah, I understand. Mine is a Gauntlet by Phantom Racing Chassis.
Jack Crown If you live in the UK and want a cheap gocart you shoud check Gumtree or Bargain Pages, I see them all the time going for cheap. Ebay also usually have lots but they always seem to cost more.

CarsandCameras It's a custom briggs, I initially thought of swapping for a 212cc pred but it might not even be worth it. I'll just wait and see.
MarLikesCars Those Briggs and Stratton 5hp motors are pretty solid- I'd wait to swap it.
hey I am purchasing a go-kart that has all the tires being slicks and i wanted to know if they would be fine to drive around my neighborhood. I know you can not drive them in the rain and that is fine but I just wanted to know how they would run, wear, and work. most important thing I want to know is how long they will last if I drive an average of 10 mins a day because I had a previous go kart that had tires with tread that were meant for lawn mowers and they wore out within 2 weeks and completley poped. the speed is about 25mph please answer
TechMultiview100 Slicks last a long time as long as you keep them out of direct sunlight when not in use. The only reason that professional drivers change tires so often is because they loose their 'edge' (about .5 sec quicker depending on the track) after a few hard laps. If you don't mind putting up with a bit less grip you will easily easily a year out of them and most likely more.

Hi I'm Caleb I race go karts the kart you have if you did not already know is a oval Kart it is a really old chassis and the reason it is off set is for wheight distribution and those bars that stick on the side are for mounting brakets for a body just thought you would

Those were all performance mods so if you just want to have fun, don't get them

Brandon Essman Craigslist worked for me. Might depend on your area. I had to drive 200miles to pick it up.

Where can I get a master cylinder and the hydraulic brake lines?
Where did you get your steering wheel? It looks quite nice and really adds to the look. and is the "floor pan" just a piece of plywood cut to those dimensions? Thanks!
The steering wheel came with the kart, but thanks. The "floor pan" isn't as rigid as plywood. It seems to be a hybrid between plywood and cardboard if that makes sense.

I've really had no luck I live outside of San Francisco and every thing for sale is no where near your description I've checked ebay, Craigslist, and other sf forums. All of the kart for sale are either huge and really $$$ or cheap rusty frames, and the actually racing karts are like 3000$. Please respond THX for the help

Nothing like taking a 02 phantom nemisis and taring the shit out of it those karts are still winning races to this day one of the best short track karts ever made
Apparently the frame is a Guantlet, which I've heard was a pretty disappointing frame.

Ikaika Smith I think you're referring to the brake master cylinder. Check to see what brand/model your brake caliper is and buy a master cylinder of the same brand.

i live in the jackson ms area nobody has any old racing karts there are only the go karts with the roll bars on them. im thinking about picking one of them up cheap and cutting the cage of of them. I'm only 15 thought so i'll have to get my dad to help
Does yours run on gasoline or alcohol (Methanol)? I have one but I'd like to convert it over to gas, (I dont know how to do this yet) I can't get the alcohol as easy as gas, but I'm gonna take one and make it more like yours. Pretty much to mess around on. :)

I have the same brakes on a custom three wheeled reverse trike I got for 100 and put 250 into it but my brake line is leaking where can u buy some extras please help I've been trying to sell the kart and I wanna fix the brakes before I do so
Griffin Cournan If yours is identical to mine (or at least similar), you should be able to stroll into your local parts store and pick some up right off the shelf. The brake lines aren't go kart specific, mine is identical to a brake line from a car.

hey just bought a kart for $375 with a 5hp motor but it seems smaller than i expected. is there anyway i could extend the pedals and make it fit more for an adult
Well first of all if you want at least a semi decent cart it's gonna cost at least 1500 bucks (used).....second if you want a slow cart then 5hp is perfect cuz you are probably never going past 40 mph....and if you are keeping it then all you have to do is change the pedals it has for longer ones
Yes you can my go kart was to short for me and I am 5 3 and at 150lbs and my cart has a predator 212 and it hauls ass with me. I'm working on finding a good race cart like johns mine is just a old yard cart like Taylor's but mine will go every bit of 50 to extend the frame all you have to do is go to your local hard ware store and get 1 inch box tubbing and you can cut the frame weld the box tube in and make supports and it is fine that is what I did
