      Why don't you make a Tee at the throttle body and go 3" in both directions? Two 3" tubes and two filters will give feed that 4" throttle body ALL the air it needs and then some. Bonus being, you are already moving the battery out of the way.

      @@chrisc6188 Take a 4" 90* and pinch it to an oval shape and it'll pass the pulley just fine. I've pinched a 4" by sticking a piece of wood post in each end and press the middle section. They do make oval to round adapters, etc. Like this example www.rossmachineracing.com/ovaltube.html Obviously this is smaller but you get the idea.

    Hey LT, I built a bracket to my air intake when I put an LS1 in my 1995 S10. I used 3.5” tubing which is about an 1/8th inch from the pulley and it has never touched. You don’t need as much room as you think especially with your fab skills. You can definitely make something sturdy that doesn’t allow the flex. Thanks for the great videos!

    I just had a thought - if you increased the height of the transmission in the rear you wouldn't need to modify the hood. You could gain almost an inch by just changing the angle. Its fuel injected so having a neutral (level) engine isn't really an issue.

      true, but I already tucked the transmission as high as it would comfortably go, in an effort to maximize ground clearance

    Put the air filter in the hood like the New TRX has and just build a pan coming off the intake to line up and seal. I think you are opening up a can of worms moving the ac comp. that’s a lot of re engineering for not much gain. Maybe do an onboard air compressor and bolt that to the lower block. Great project and I hope it pays well!

  • @andrewbresson472

    One idea to help get around alternator would be to oval the round 4. You can easily compressed that 4in down to a 3in oval it would by 1/2 inch on each long side and if you secure each side with a plug before you compress it will still hold the 4-inch diameter so you can reconnect to round pipe you would still have the flow volume of a 4in you would just have that little bit of turbulence which really should not hurt performance just an idea figured I'd throw it out there I really enjoy the content

    Double stack the 3 inch tube (or even smaller) in an over/under arrangement and put the filter on the left/drivers side. I think SLP made an intake tube like that for the 1993 to 2002 F-body.

  • @chrisrussell6538
    @chrisrussell6538 3 роки тому

    How about a T style intake tube? Run 2" tube from both sides and merge into the throttle body. It's a little more fab work and now you'll need 2 filters but would give you the 4" overall airflow you would like.
