Thanks for the comparison! The 498T is a lot brighter, I’ve noticed this is the same compared to my Fortitude and super distortion loaded guitars. I actually planned on switching out the 498T in my LP special, but when I played it I was kind of blown away by it. Thick, clear, dynamic and very responsive. It’s a killer pickup.
Thanks for watching :) I like 498T too in LP, it has balls but i can still do many styles with it. It's little lower output than Duncan JB i think and that's why i like it too cause it's not as compressed sounding.
@@kuitaristi3003 yeah, it reminds me a lot of a better sounding Duncan Distortion. But it’s also not quite as hot and just has an all around better tone than the JB/Distortion.
I prefer the 498T, but I'd rather have a Duncan JB or Custom, and a Jazz in the neck. I don't care for DiMarzios. Way too much bass and their harmonics are crap next to Duncans.
@@angusorvid8840 DiMarzio DP151 PAF Pro leaves no chance for any Seymour Duncan pickups with their soapy sound and cloying harmonics that get boring after 5 minutes of playing.
The PAF Pro is one of the better DiMarzios. I still prefer Duncans. I find they cut through a mix a lot easier than most DiMarzios which tend to be overloaded with low mids. Duncans tend to have higher mids, but that's easier to mitigate than mud. You can always dial back treble and presence and mids when a pickup is too bright or trebly. @@MrEpic-lf4gn
@@angusorvid8840 Sorry ) I just now realized from other videos by the author of this channel that the pickups were tested on a Gibson Les Paul guitar. I don't understand the sound of this guitar and I'm not sure that the PAF Pro is the best choice for Gibson, especially with the 50's style wiring, which, to my ears, sounds very bright. But on long scale guitars with bolt-on necks, I prefer DiMarzio, not necessarily PAF Pro, it could be Evolution, Mo'Joe, etc., depending on the situation.
Thanks for the comparison!

Excellent ! I prefer the gibs
Both are good. I prefer Dimarzio, richer Sound.
498 all the way 🤘🏽
Thank you, nice test!
DiMarzio are always bass-heavier than other brands... the 498t wins!
I always think that, Dimarzio's are brighter than other pickup brands :)

I'm shocked!! Is the Dimarzio really that dark?
I don't find it dark but yeah, maybe darker than like Gibson pups. I have some better 59 paf videos about that pickup on my channel.
