I love how the rating system of this show is like. a 10 doesnt mean "this is the best sandwich ive ever had ever", it basically means a completely functional sandwich that's awesome. i like that you're not stingy with the 10s.
I'm a big fan of getting ingredients from local restaurants. Refried beans from a Taqueria is no doubt far better than opening a can. I live in Maine, and there are good spots to get fried clams, and if I ever wanted to make a poboy, I'd hit up a local fried seafood place before using frozen clam strips.
Great looking sando! Whenever a Mexican style recipe suggests lettuce or cabbage, I feel obligated to add sliced jalapeños. Also, swipe a green sauce for the tomato salsa.
You should make your own refried beans. It’s super easy to to do and they come out just like the ones from a restaurant. It takes two to three hours, but 98% of that is inactive waiting time while the beans boil. Finally, you can freeze the leftovers and they are good as new when reheated. Cool video!!!
Fabu! I would do the avocado and also some queso fresco or Oaxaca cheese. I might have to switch to Texas Toast and give it the grilled cheese treatment to make it easier to eat
Day 14 of asking Barry to make the sandwich I submitted!~~~ I love the call back to history in this episode. What a cool touch, I hope to see more history oriented sandwiches in the future. This sandwich looks delicious, I think a thin layer of guacamole and hot sauce on the top bun would be the plus up id go for! Gracias mi Amigo Barry!!
Me fallaste con la torta ahogada!!! Do the torta ahogada! I found the website and it’s called “Panble”. It’s Mexican sourdough bread and you should try it soon! Go simple with is! Mexican oregano is a must!
Lol. If beer and liquor wanna celebrate the independence of the one land mass the USA couldn't grasp... I feel bit uncomfy with, but I think i might be happy with it. I might know if i was happier or not if I had had less tequila and lime

This looks AMAZE
Best. Sandwich-making Gringo. Ever. ¡Gracias por otro excelente video, Barry! Big fan from Mexico City here.
Also the napoleon he's talking about isn't napoleon bonaparte but his nephew napoleon iii
Yeah, I should've been much clearer on that.
Time flies! It seems like International Sandwich Sunday was just last week.
I think I'd cook up some poblano peppers and add then as a plus up, then you could call it the Pelona Poblano Poblana!
Poblanos are my favorite peppers!
My,that is one tasty sandwich! And dang Barry quit apologizing already! You go above, and beyond all the time.

If I want to make fried rice I'll pick up plain rice at my local Chinese place. It's always better than mine and dirt cheap. Love the po'boy idea.
@@melissalambert7615 I do this all the time for fried rice, and it's a life hack!!
@@TheSaw410 Too funny! When I thought of it years ago it was just a "light bulb" moment.
Speaking of international, we got some Chinese five spice because you speak so highly of it. It was unique and AMAZING my palate is happy 🙏
Try it on BBQ ribs.
@@melissalambert7615 no waaay we tried it on ribs and spring rolls haha, I wanna try a cake with it
@@FadingDoor604 Five Spice chocolate cake. Go!
@@melissalambert7615 that sounds amazing and is now on my to-bake list 🫡
That makes me so happy to read that! Yes!! Love the stuff
That looks bomb. Looks like the fusion of a torta, birria and mollete. I wonder what region its from.
Great looking sando! Whenever a Mexican style recipe suggests lettuce or cabbage, I feel obligated to add sliced jalapeños. Also, swipe a green sauce for the tomato salsa.
I heard that crunchy first bite of the sandwich from the other room! Yes, sounds delicious, finish it for sure. 😊
Oh man, that crunch!
Im not usually a fan of refried beans in any sandwich but I bet the local ones you get are awesome
Glad you got a good lunch in you. Surprised at no addition of hot sauce or cotija cheese.
You know you finished that day one, and who wouldn’t! Looks fantastic Barry.
I really didn't. I can't eat as much in one go as I use to.
That is such a tasty looking sandwich! The crunch of your first bite was making me so hungry

I wanted to but yeah, time was tight. Thanks!
Come for the sandwich, stay for the history lesson!
Easily one of the coolest sandwhitches in the World.
Avocado is always necessary!😮❤🥑🇲🇽🥪
I think we need a "Barry Tours Mexico City's Best Torta Shops" pilgrimage.
Oh man if I could get a sponsor for that I'd be all in!
All I could think was "there's absolutely no way that isn't insanely delicious"
And, I was right.
Yum!!!
Mexican sandwiches are allllll awesome.
This sandwich is fantastic
Looks wonderful, I would certainly eat that.
Fabu! I would do the avocado and also some queso fresco or Oaxaca cheese. I might have to switch to Texas Toast and give it the grilled cheese treatment to make it easier to eat
That crunch though!!
oh dang, that looks really good.
Congrats on your book! I'm really looking forward to it :)
Thank you so much!
That sounds like a great sandwich😎💯
¡Feliz Cinco de Mayo!

Sounds awesome! I'm saving that recipe.
I love the history of this one!
Of course it's good! It's basically a taco sandwich! 😂
Me fallaste con la torta ahogada!!! Do the torta ahogada! I found the website and it’s called “Panble”. It’s Mexican sourdough bread and you should try it soon! Go simple with is! Mexican oregano is a must!
torta ahogada is absolutely on my to do list!
Thank you
next you're gonna tell me they don't celebrate St. Patricks Day in Ireland
😂
Does this call for it to be pressure cooked for 15 or 50 mins? I can’t tell what you said
Needs some pickled jalapeños! 😉🇲🇽
So creaminess from the crema but no Mayo?
Mucho yum yum😊
Cholula Green Pepper Hot Sauce (jalapeño and poblano) is 🤌
Napoleon the third. the first was long gone.
Yeah, I should've been clearer on that.
