Hands down best fab video on the interwebz as of right now. I'm a welder/fabricator and am always watching videos to learn new things and I couldn't be more satisfied after watching this.
We are out of the roll cage business and only focus on suspension now. So passing on what I know before shutting it down seemed like the best thing to do
This video rocks! As a veteran bender from doing custom exhaust tubing for 16 years, I’m getting ready to build my first cage. I’ve been trying to find videos on cage design or even figure out what hoop you start off with. Your video was extremely informative and you actually explain everything with the hows and whys you do things the way you do- which is very similar to my teaching style. Thanks so much for putting in the time to make this. Subscribed!
This is a fantastic video. A few years ago I built my own cage in a 240Z, and while it turned out OK, I wasted a lot of material with screw-ups and mid-course corrections. If I had seen this video prior to the build, it would have helped immensely.
You’re extremely talented and I appreciate the WHY in this video. You go through everything. As someone getting ready to build their first prerunner this is massive for me. Thank you
Thanks for sharing of your hard earned experience and wisdom on general fabrication tips and tube bending do’s and don’t’s as well as your reasons and methodologies on cage construction. I really do appreciate that you explained your reasons and logic on various points in the construction of this cage. That was really helpful. Although this wasn’t a cage for a drag racing door car, the general approach, materials, construction and thinking are all the same, to keep the driver safe and add major rigidity to to the chassis. Thanks a ton, bud !
I was watching it to the end and its been like 15 minutes, such a good content, so many informations and great explanation of each step so that there are no questions left, thank you for this video, I'm really trying to start witch fabricating and this is really helpful
super dope video man, I don't think people realize how much it takes to see what we're seeing. Great work, crystal-clear and concise. Thank you for all of your knowledge, and insider tips.
@@FDFraceshop man I wish I was in ON, I would work cheap to have you mentor me. I love the attention to detail and accuracy. Bravo. More people need to take on the skill of craftsmanship like you have. Thx
Thank you! Finally, ...a real video on roll cage fab and fitment! I loved it. For those of us that can weld and fabricate, but are not clear on the approach and steps for success. Thumbs up and subscribed.
Broooo the TAPE trick was by far the best thing i saw in this video..... lord jesus this one was so simple and it helped me put X door bars in my car into an existing rollcage... thanks so much. WOnderfully done video and cage work....
probably the best how to video i have seen, sometimes people use silly loud music in between and it sucks, this was amazing well explained always and simple, well done chaps.
I am going to be building a Lucky Dog/Chump/Lemons cage soon. Your video is by far the best thing I've watched on the subject. Thank you for explaining your processes perfectly.
This was such an awesome and well done video on the subject! Lots of guys out there can do good cages, but this video was done really well to compliment the skills with the shop!
Great video, I learned a few tricks that even cross to my jeep cages. But please......use more PPE. You can keep doing this awesome work if your can't see.
where were you 4 years ago when i got bend-tech. ive called tech support 3 times and couldnt figure out the software. watched your video, by the way was amazing and now i got bend-tech down thank you so much also really great work keep at it
When notching a straight bar like the harness bar, how do you measure the length while considering the notch depth? (How do you measure the notch mouth depth on both sides where the horizontal bar connects to the down bar?)
Wow, this is an outstanding video that was very well explained. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, a lot of fab guys keep their secrets locked up tighter than a drum. Wish this video was out when I built my 8 point.
Hey just letting you know this is a FANTASTIC video. Was not expecting to sit through an hour+ video on a whim, but glad I did. You just cleared up a whole lot of questions I had without making me wanna blow my brains out. THANK YOU!
Great Great Great job. This takes skill plus a lot of time and experience. I can see why your looking to do something else. Great when you are young. As you get older much harder doing stuff like this for a living. Who ever gave this thumbs down has never tried doing this kind of work.
You had me at "rally car cage" 2nd to none on the planet! Getting ready to do my regal in the near future. Coming from fox body mustangs and unibody Im really freaked out over the cage going through body to the frame. Unibody is so much better for an idiot like me. We are all getting to the point a ton of safety work is a must.
Have you ever considered implementing an old feature that I believe Porsche used in the 60’s? They ran a completely sealed and pressurized chassis using regular compressed air and a gauge fitted to it. … any drop of pressure indicated some sort of structural failure and also aided in locating the crack or cracks. Ingenious, efficient and effective, just a thought and definitely something else that could set you guys apart from everyone else.
Best movie documentary DIY film ever! And it came from my favorite angle kit manufacturer! Well done, this will be forever reference video. Good job bud! 👏
Outstanding!!. Maybe tge most in depth and simplified video I've seen. Not only roll cage specific but overall fabrication approaches to be used on a variety of fab projects. At 64 its nice for an old dog to learn new tricks. Your attention to detail is top shelf. Thank you. Happy Thanksgiving and merry Christmas.
Planning on putting a cage in my C4 (likely using your suspension components also, gotta save pennies up though). Just a street car, the main purpose is to show off my engine conversion - low emissions, low fuel consumption in daily driving V8. I don't need a "certified" cage, but might as well make it safe.
Most in-depth video on the web on roll cage fabrication I enjoyed and learned a lot of how to I feel more confident now on welding my cage in my mustang 😊🐎
Awesome video man. The detail is great, and the tips and tricks of years and years of experience will help people of all skill levels. Really enjoyed the video, nice job man.
Wait but how...nevermind you answered that, but when...no, no, you answered that as well, ok but what...actually you answered that one also 😅 Suuuuuper in depth video I've been stoked waiting to find time to watch it all the way through and it was entirely worth the hype! I'll likely watch it another time or two before starting a cage in my genesis. Well done!
TOODOFF up here but sheeeeesh!!!! Man I love how accurate u are lol thank you for the video! I wish you guys could build and sell bolts ons or build them in sections for us to finish it up.
Very instructional and professionally put together video. No substitute for experience and all the hot tips really appreciated. Just wish I could weld like that. Thanks again
Nice build. I did the front half of a cage in a buddy's 350Z track car. Was not fun welding the tops of the tubes no being able to drop the cage down for access
Thankyou guys for this video !!!! You guys answered every single question I’ve had about building my cage. Your an absolute god send so thanks again !!!!
Just wanted to add a comment as I noticed a little bit of difficulty in cutting the notch using a hole saw and wanted to suggest annular cutters (rotabroach) of the type usually used in heavy steel work as these have cutting teeth on the faces and sides for milling and would work on your setup. Hope this helps
Super cool video, and great explanation on the order of tube install, and most importantly, why, (i.e, being able to pull the tubes next to the body far enough to have room to complete a weld). Do you go back once the cage is done to add gussets to the cage, or gusset the cage to the unit-body? Oh, and get a roll bender...
hey bro this is one of the best video i have ever see ! thanks for sharing all that information! and i watch the entire video for a first on youtube 😃😃😃😃😃👍👍👍👍
Awesome video, especially from a fellow Cunuck. As someone said below, no way would I usually watch 1hr video on here, But I'm very very glad I did. keep up the great work & videos.
Good video I learned a lot,I've been racing dirt tracks for 30 years all my late models I buy pre built but on my street stock and hobby stocks I normally build them myself,We usually leave like 3" between the cage and roof and sides,The thinking behind that is that during a wreck the body absorbs the initial shock before getting to the cage,Not sure if that helps or not,bit great video thanks for sharing
i can’t believe i’m watching this for free. thank you for gifting us your knowledge and experience
This is the only 1hr long video I’ll watch on UA-cam.
Same, I'm a welder by trade and wanting to do my own cage for a fun project and this video was spot-on exactly what I wanted.
If only they didn't use that soundtrack! It is what all good things hear just before dying a horrible death
Maybe it's just me on weed, but no one was able to bore me in 5 min like this video was. 🤦♂️🤣
B it uuivh I I u I I use TV v I u is up in u I if I

I just cant believe that someone would be willing to give away so many tips and tricks that must have took years to learn. Thank you very much.

Man, this was perfect. The flow, details, simplified info, and everything was easy to follow. Much appreciated.
can u please do a tutorial on how u built ur tube bender
I'll watch this more than once. Best rollcage video on the Tube.
Badass that this is free. People that share their knowledge instead of gatekeeping are the best!

Glad you liked it!

That vertical set up is so amazing! Makes your whole system work awesome. Be great for garage people that dont have 2 empty bays to do a main.
This whole video was amazing, but it was worth so much learning how to get at the welds on the top of the cage. Mind blown. Thank you.
I sure enjoyed this video. Thank you for sharing. Impressive work.
That was the best UA-cam video I think I’ve ever watched. Amazing!
You guys have done a wonderful job of explaining the various procedures it takes to build a legal and safe cage. Thanks so much.
Dude is a machine!! Awesome info and possibly best video on UA-cam. Much appreciated!

Great video, good shots, nice pace, clear cut explaining.
Thank you for all the information on roll cage regulations, this video is awesome. Good luck
Nice fab work, im sure its worth the cost because ur work is excellent, thanks for sharing this

Wow as an older guy, it is funny that you have to show quick(snippet) on video what a square Looks like, to younger viewers. WOW!
Good job over all , very informative, but stop showing quick pics or snippets on what things look like. (Like a Square) People are not that dumb.
