God did not like Cain's sacrifice of of grains and vegetables, but loved Abel's lamb sacrifice. More importantly, you'll love this video: ua-cam.com/video/KmK0bZl4ILM/v-deo.html
if we were meant to heat only plants, we'd have teeth like a deer. if we were meant to eat only meat, we'd have teeth like a lion. since our teeth are in between those two, we were meant to be omnivores.
+Nads eating meat doesn't _necessarily_ cause health problems. the japanese eat sea creatures daily and have the lowest rate of obesity and highest # of centenarians of any country. eating lean meats and seafood provides many essential nutrients for health.
Some people cannot be healthy without meat, and some can be just fine eating anything, and some are less healthy eating animal protein. It's all on the individual. I think I'm the one who can live on anything, and since I don't agree with the animal-food industry, I am Veg. Obviously my choice wouldn't be right for everyone, particularly Archie.
And who did Mexico take those lands from? Spain-- and who did they take them from? Many nations-- and how did they get them? By grabbing them, sometimes from each other and by raiding. It's survival of the fittest... or the strongest, or the meanest.
The Character of Archie Bunker was correct the human animal is made to eat meat as well as other things. Not just plants and non meat products only. That is a fact.
As soon as they find out eating apples was wrong... LOL ... Who the hell ever heard of sacrificing a head of lettuce?.. LOL The 70's and 80's television shows. I sure miss Those were the days, Happy Days, I dream of Jeannie and many more healthy family home entertainment shows.
Agreed. My girlfriend and I were watching the other day and when Meathead claimed that America stole Texas from the Mexicans, we nearly had joint strokes.
Gloria says it's cheaper to be a vegetarian.... So why is a salad alsmost $5 and a hamburger is $1.50? Also a reason why North Americans are overweight.
They were called the 'Greatest Generation' because they were children during the 'Great Depression', then as young adults they fought in 'World War 2', and as older adults they saw their children leave to fight in the 'Vietnam War'.
@seanvikeen I simply asked that people not proselytize. I at no time said people could not discuss religious views. I'm sorry if you cannot tell the difference between the two and that seems to be another problem with some Christians today. As for me being a liar that is your opinion and not fact. It seems you would rather be confrontational & insulting because you disagree with my position. I'm from the USA and strongly believe in freedom of speech but also believe people should be respectful.
@seanvikeen Stating religious views is one thing but then turning around and calling names and insulting people in not acceptable. I may be an Agnostic but I believe that people should be civil to one another. Too many people who espouse Christian values seem to have lost sight of that these days. Lastly, All in the Family is one of my favorite shows of all time. I remember it as a kid when it was actually on TV. I have posted several snippets for people to enjoy and have a laugh.
@rdamurphy Wow is right but only in your incredible ignorance. I wasn't talking about the Nazis and what they believed. I was talking about what I believe to be true about biblical stories and I'm not going to respond further to your very irrelevant question or should I say baseless charge. If you want to have an intelligent conversation that's fine but I'm not going into the gutter with you on the Nazi thing.
@seanvikeen Also, for someone to post this about me who doesn't even know me is what i find offensive and over the top, "i think this dude has no ball sack, and takes down anyone who says so." Not to mention the 16 thumbs up the comment has gotten proves my point that people do not know how to be civil.
@SovereignStatesman You are so correct. American conservatives need absolutely no help in looking stupid, ignorant, and totally out of touch with reality. Thank you for your commentary because you made me laugh. Please feel free to continue because I could definitely use another laugh. :-)
@seanvikeen People can disagree without being disagreeable. I'm simply not going to tolerate personal attacks. If you want to make a valid point in a debate that's fine but you should do so respectfully. Attempting to put others down only makes your point less valid.
I didn't lump anything. I just found his comment about the lettuce funny and all the shows I mentioned could indeed be seen by the entire family. No bad words, nothing vulgar. Lump free too.
@Minionuup There is no empirical evidence to prove biblical stories. They are myths in the same style as those of other ancient cultures' religions like the Greeks, Romans, and Egyptians.
I don't know about that, I think most people had more sympathy for hippie views about a lot of things, particularly civil rights and the war in Vietnam. However, as a person, Meathead certainly could be annoying much of the time. He and Archie both thought they were always right about everything. I think the viewers identified most with Gloria. She had similar views as her husband, but had a more sympathetic way of expressing them.
@BrideofEdgeworth I take an infinite number of things on faith then. I don't want to bring up the FSM again, but could the theists please get a better understanding that assuming there is no God, there would be no evidence for him existing or not existing? What possible proof is there of non-existence, save for the absence of physical or logical evidence for its existence, of which in this case there is none. Atheism is a belief system though, it's in the etymology of the word (a-THEISM).
the character was satire of a bigot. he was nice and loveable but how could anyone agree with him? I think the current hyper-polarization and love of the past is making some of you dolts actually believe this character. Ironically, Carroll O'Connor and Norman Lear, the whole cast, are very liberal.
I wish Mike & Gloria really had become vegetarians on the show. They had the mind-set for it. Plus, it would have been another great way that they could have annoyed Archie!
i watched it, and while he made a lot of good points, I believe he was wrong in some areas, maybe he mentioned this before of after the part i watched, but its basic instinct to eat meat, you had cavemen who ate meat, humans have always eaten meat as far as history can tell. Also he said real meat eaters chase down their prey with no tools and eat the meat raw, this view is flawed because humans have evolved to be creatures capable of using tools. its the advantage we have over other animals
I've seen roadkill that was hit in the morning and cooked by 3:00pm on I90 near Wall South Dakota. The Bad Lands were good for naturally cooked carcass too. Very hot. When touring to Sturges every year I am never without my knife and fork and A1 steak sauce. The asphalt is just like a giant hot plate it keeps your carnal cuisine freshly cooked. I usually like to eat up wind of my gormet meal...you know...too much A1 makes your eyes water. Dave Canadian Capitalist
@Greenvegan828 Not so much. The demographic in Queens has changed, so they'd probably have to put Archie in the Midwest where you can still find plenty of white working class philistines. They don't make hippies exactly like Meathead anymore, but substitute a modern environmentalist and change the clothes a bit and add a piercing or three, and the basics of the character would still work.
@BrideofEdgeworth But I wasn't talking about believing that something doesn't exist. I merely said "not believe". That's not faith. As for Santa and ghosts, you can't actually prove with 100% certainty that neither exists, but there is such a thing as proof beyond a reasonable doubt and that says there's no Santa or ghosts. Courts use that standard all the time to convict criminals, and that's not considered faith either.
@kingarthurup Okay Okay, Lets talk about this in a rational matter. If there is a God, then why is the world such a horrible place? Why are the criminals allowed to walk the earth, while the good are dying young (many cases murdered by the evil doers)? If I was God, I'd wipe out all the scum and allow civilization to continue.
At the time it was cheaper. Over the last 40 years, they have pumped chemicals into cows, pigs, and chickens to give the americans meat quicker and cheaper. If you make your own salad it would be cheap, but I don't know if it's cheaper than a .99 cent burger at mcdonalds.
@BrideofEdgeworth You are wrong. It doesn't take faith to not believe in something. Is not believing in Santa Claus or ghosts considered a faith? You accuse atheists of not having evidence, but is it really our job to prove that something invisible does not exist?
if humans wernt supposed to eat we wouldnt have teeth that can chew meat, humans have incisors to chew meat, if you dont want to eat meat thats fine, but dont tell me I am not supposed to, because I am just doing whats natural
Archie is a strawman, for sure. It's still a really funny show though. It's kind of funny, because as much as the writers tried to portray conservatism in a negative light, it backfired probably more than half of the time.
I love Archie, but he should have mentioned that we have canine teeth and the eyes of hunters, i.e., two eyes that face forward. You grazers feel free to eat rabbit food, I prefer the rabbit. Mmmm, hossenfeffer.
This shows intention was the opposite, Archie is suppose to potray non-pc people as buffonish and dumb while the pc people as oh-so-intelligent and "tolerant" tomatobubble(dot)com/allinthefamily(dot)html
@horseangels Very true... funny, many people make the same comment about Archie Bunker as Howard Stern... that is, they do not look at him as a playing a 'character', laughing with him, not at him.
@98bigbutt Scientifically speaking, out teeth show we are meant to be omnivores. Strictly vegetarian animals only have crushing teeth, carnivores only have cutting and ripping teeth. We have both!
You could do that it would be a start .... I went that way a for a few months and truthfully I was always hungry and felt weak... maybe I did something wrong not sure.... take care
please explain to me then why we have teeth that are designed to tear through meat, also meat has 4 types of protein you cant find any where else in nature
It even more funny because Archie is right. Book of Genesis 9:3 "Everything that lives and moves about will be food for you. Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything." There is a list of exceptions later on in Leviticus.
Who said that, Meathead? At least 100,000 years of man's history. Throughout that, meat has been a staple of our diet. With rare exceptions, vegetarianism as a lifestyle is a relatively recent thing - and that only a small minority. Besides, if you really cared about animals, you wouldn't be eating their food.
After Noah and his family came out of the ark, God told him, "The fear of you shall be upon every moving creature; into your hand I give them to you as food."
Whoever heard about sacrificing a head of lettuce? LMAO!!!!!! CLASSIC!!!!!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
God did not like Cain's sacrifice of of grains and vegetables, but loved Abel's lamb sacrifice.

I'm with Archie on that one.
Bunker the beast!!! He's a legend
The writers of the sitcom was GENIUS!
Archie and Ediths chairs are at the Smithsonian. I loved that show back in the day.
Even when you think Archie's about to make a fool of himself, he winds up making a fool out of Meathead.
Mike’s expressions when talking to Archie are priceless!
If God didn't want us to eat His creatures, He shouldn't have made 'em so tasty.
if we were meant to heat only plants, we'd have teeth like a deer. if we were meant to eat only meat, we'd have teeth like a lion. since our teeth are in between those two, we were meant to be omnivores.
A basic scientific fact that Vegans argue against tirelessly.
+Jeff S Then why does eating meat cause so many health problems while plants do nothing but good for the human body?
+Nads eating meat doesn't _necessarily_ cause health problems. the japanese eat sea creatures daily and have the lowest rate of obesity and highest # of centenarians of any country. eating lean meats and seafood provides many essential nutrients for health.

Actually, the Bible says we were vegetarians before the Flood, and only afterward did God allow meat eating.

I still think Al Bundy was created using Archie Bunkers image. They have the same initials.
Why else do we have sharp teeth in the rear of our teeths.
"Who the H*ll ever heard of sacrificing a head of lettuce?"
:-D...
Archie is not wrong here. We need animal protein in our diets.
Agreed. My girlfriend and I were watching the other day and when Meathead claimed that America stole Texas from the Mexicans, we nearly had joint strokes.
Vegetarian.= Indian word for bad hunter.
MABA Making America Bunker Again 😅
Made me laugh.
Love Archie, even his black jokes and I'm black.
Stop tap dancing.
He's right lol

@tonycolbert2 Question how is atheism based on faith when they don't have faith in gods or believe in the concept of gods? How does that work exactly?
At the time it was cheaper. Over the last 40 years, they have pumped chemicals into cows, pigs, and chickens to give the americans meat quicker and cheaper. If you make your own salad it would be cheap, but I don't know if it's cheaper than a .99 cent burger at mcdonalds.

The carbon nitrogen balance in the bones of ancient man indicate that his diet strongly resembled that of apex predators of the time.
Who said that, Meathead? At least 100,000 years of man's history. Throughout that, meat has been a staple of our diet. Actually, I'm atheist, but the character "Archie" was correct about the Christian bibles (and yes, I intended that to be plural).
@ejr23 Whether or not you have a faith, intolerance makes your statements bullshit.
-Politically Correct Thinking
Actually Archie's right about the meat part. Not about the bible part.Because vegetarianism isn't part in our DNA.
@eatpigsnot Eating shellfish was a sin to Jews not for New Testament Christians.
Anyway, just enjoy the clips.
Say what the fuck? WE EAT MEAT. Be careful you don't get classified as meat. I'm not all that picky.
@OneslaveofChrist It's a book used to control people using fear, intimidation, and false threats.
Well, if you prepare most of your food at home, it is cheaper to be a vegetarian.
I sacrificed a whole cabbage once, does that count, Archie? Or How about when I sacrificed those 7 apples at once?
none on me pal and Ive been eating meat since the 1960s. Nice try with the fake facts though.
@bdj010 That has got to be the most intelligent comment I have ever read on UA-cam.
Guess Arch never heard of the offering of the first fruits and the grain offering.
He Was A Reat Great Actor, Rest In Peace
Cain heard of sacrificing a lettuce. He was the first murderer, remember him?
I don't have the willpower to become a vegetarian. But I believe what they say dead food dead body.
Archie never finished high school but had more sense , many times more than meathead “mike”.
"look it up"
Is Archie a time traveller or did they have amazing internet in the 70s weve never heard of?
Once again, Archie is correct and the meat head looks like.....well, a meat head.
Did you just lump All in the Family in with "family entertainment"?
@frc1968 what eps did archie hit a guy?
Meathead, a Vegetarian?? He was the biggest Meat eater in the house.
@seanvikeen how can you call a belief in nothing a religion?
thats a strech, probably the same reason for your old man.
i wish 1 day that we all eat Tofu for Thanksgiving, instead of millions Innocent Turkeys ;[
Oh, are innocent turkeys eating tofu?
Genesis 9:3
I sacrifice heads of lettuce. I sacrifice them to the chickens.
After Noah and his family came out of the ark, God told him, "The fear of you shall be upon every moving creature; into your hand I give them to you as food."
SuperPat88 only the clean ones
lol but the bible does say man can eat meat.
Don't worry, nobody's perfect.
man is not a carnivore vegan or vegetarian he like Russian bear omnivore
What does Archie mean by "Who the hell ever heard of sacrificing a head of lettuce?"?
Only animals were sacrificed back then.
Archie at his wisest. Vegetables are good. Meat is better.
I don't want to hurt the poor plants
Alright Edith leave it there huh
one person coined that term for a book he had written, greatest generation.
Quindecillion Tom Brokaw
Soylent Green for Archie
What's that suppose to mean,kingarthurup.
i don,t care who says what, i like meat.
