I'm and EW raider too! your story with this game is a lot like mine, started with a casual group in the first tier and have been through like 3/4 groups as the expac went on , I started with the older ultis though so ive been through all the old ones first and just now my group is almost halfway into dsr! Your video production and naration is great for a channel so small btw , def earned a sub o7
New player, only been playing for about a week but having a great time so far! I watched your job video as an introduction to your channel and it’s been really helpful! Hoping to get past level 30 atm for those sweet, sweet advanced jobs.
I can appreciate your approach to the game. I’m starting it back up and hoping to get to experience some of the things you’ve listed. Your video helped me go back and give it a better go. Ty.
recently found your channel through your controller guide, I've recently started playing after years of friends asking (Just about to finish post ARR). Thanks for the videos while I'm grinding, keep up the great vids.
I started FFXIV in Stormblood (6 years now), also my first MMO, as a massive Final Fantasy fan. It was the perfect game for me, I just got laid off a job and had some spare disposable funds and I was just depressed and looking for something like FFXIV, it honestly came at a perfect time, I could just log in, chill out, do some questings, and take my mind off the depression that is new job hunting. Took me about 3 months to reach endgame at that time, and there was a lot to learn, I started savage raiding about 7 months in on my 1st tier, Alphascape, and I struggled a lot, but I got my 1st savage kill in about 2 days for o9. I remember how elated I was at that, but resources were so much sparcer than they are now and I was still very clueless. I didn't start ulti raiding until Shadowbringers, and ultimates are currently both the toughest but also the most rewarding experiences I've ever had playing any game. A lot of my fondest memories come from doing ultimates, although also the worst experiences I've had. I hope one day they will allow us to make a private server tho, to allow people to experience the older patches, I for one miss 4.55 astro and scholar, I miss tanking in 4.55, there was a lot of fun to be had and a lot of skill expression that has since been removed (arguably rightfully so).
It’s on a separate hot bar, not the usual controller cross hotbar. It has all of the unused slots hidden so only that one potion shows. I just use that to keep track of my potion cooldown, but the potion is on on of my normal controller bars.
I definitely recommend raiding to almost anyone, I got into it during patch 6.1 with my current static. We started out as a "casual beginners, just learning how to raid" static where we had a hell of a time just clearing the first raid tier. Now we've sorta evolved into I'd like to say at least a midcore static where we're currently on the cusp of clearing DSR with UWU already under our belt and consistently good organic DPS numbers in our savages.
New sub. I have watched 3 of your videos and as a new player on xbox who has been waiting to play this game I am excited to join you for the journey. I've been looking for a MMO fix since dropping my Destiny/Destiny2 habit a year or so ago and am excited about finding some good groups to raid with when I get there. I'm just approaching 50msq so I got a ways to go!
I hope more people joining this game can find it as easy to grow in as you and I did. Joined on EW release and had a similar experience; first MMO I've spent more than 100 hours on, never end game raided in anything. Managed to do all 3 tiers and both Ultimates several times, and can land oranges and pinks by accident, now. and I owe it all to the game's excellent design and the people that it attracts; my teammates and friends.
I played for about 2 months into Endwalker and have all melee at 90 and magics close behind. I’m returning, going to start a new account and play only 1 job so I make sure I’m the best I can be at that instead of being all over the place with my attention. I’ve forgotten so much so it will be fun to relearn the game again.
Thats INSANE progression! Ive only done the savage during endwalker when current but i cant do ultimates. Those are just too time consuming and i dont want to be tied to statics
It depends. I've read through and watched every bit of the MSQ over the years, and with every expansion I've ended up feeling like it was a waste of time. The story, and especially the characters, just don't gel with some people. I personally HATE the majority of the Scions.
Im also around 5000 hours and the worst day i had in this game was in January when i got the "to be continued" in my story log ;A; (ive recovered since dw)
Is it the best MMORPG? Arguably. But it is definitely a good MMORPG. Here are the list: 1. The storyline. If you cry at one point of the journey, you got it. 2. The NPC characters you grow and fall in love with. If you know what’s Graha favourite food, you got it. 3. The music. If at some point you enter a dungeon just so you can keep listening to your favourite music, you got it. 4. The community. If you making a new friend, or staying late at Limsa Lominsa watching the crowd, you got it. 5. The other stuffs: guilds, housing, theme parks, events, endless achievements, easter eggs, raiding, mini games, fishing, crafting, role playing, battle zones, PVP and more and more…
love its story so much but theres so many narrative/pacing issues. Primal after primal etc. Constant tropes and more. But it really did get me to care a lot about characters I really didnt give a shit about lol. Ive played runescape for roughly 15k hours, around 10k hours into runescape I got into WoW(around 06) now i have 200 hours here and Im definitely having a blast. Honestly top 3 MMOs of all time are Runescape Ff14 and WoW(havent touched WoW since legion).
So I was the same way dude literally for YEARS I finally finally made it past ARR and have more buttons and everything is way more intense and makes sense. I’m tanking and finally have a good fit of buttons and everything in this game is about intention when you push a button you really want to make sure you wants to push it. It’s not like wow with more spamming skills. I feel your pain though. I have been trying to play this game for years. I finally made it
New player here! Just reached post patch Shadowbringers and still really enjoying the story but looking forward to getting into harder content.

Nice vid, nice content, appreciate more perspectives on newer players speaking up and contributing to discussion.

An Elezen enjoyer yay!
Thanks for the great video and I'm looking forward to future ones.
@11:00 how do you get that button with the potion on the hot bar . i use ps5 to play so use hot bar similar to this
It’s on a separate hot bar, not the usual controller cross hotbar. It has all of the unused slots hidden so only that one potion shows. I just use that to keep track of my potion cooldown, but the potion is on on of my normal controller bars.

Welcome in and enjoy it!
Your journey seems similar to mine too! Hope I can run into you one day in a raid 😊 Keep up the good content!
I’m just now entering raiding. It’s a soft to midcore level that’s chill but I’m glad I was able to find a full party.
enjoy it! my first group was very casual. we didn't get much done, but it was good fun and good practice
I hope more people joining this game can find it as easy to grow in as you and I did.

Halfway through stormblood after a month of playing, and yes, it definitely takes over your life
Thats INSANE progression! Ive only done the savage during endwalker when current but i cant do ultimates. Those are just too time consuming and i dont want to be tied to statics
Can't say I get mad at folks who skip the story, but I do feel bad because the payoff is just incredible for sticking with it.

Great video !!!
I been playing on and off since realm reborn. I definitely have 5,000 hours.
Modular rig run down? Lol looks very nice in the intro there
Very good review, keep it up 👍
2000 wipes on a raid boss? Wow that is commitment
How it feels to play Ultimate
Ptsd coming in nicely. But when you get the W though!!!!!!
Im also around 5000 hours and the worst day i had in this game was in January when i got the "to be continued" in my story log ;A; (ive recovered since dw)

This would definitely be my go to mmo if I was gonna swap main game. :)
I like your Elezen a lot!

“Shadows Withal”, the theme from the Akadaemia Anyder dungeon!
@@KayFalchionthank you!

ARR is particularly pacing plagued. It's definitely a good story especially for a video game.
combat in this game is the only think i dont like, mainly because i cant do it.
Maybe you could do warrior or Summoner. They're probably the simplest.
U cant press 3 buttons in 2.5 seconds?
So I was the same way dude literally for YEARS I finally finally made it past ARR and have more buttons and everything is way more intense and makes sense. I feel your pain though. I have been trying to play this game for years. I finally made it
Update: Bro is about the quit the game cause its boring 🤣
Unfair that pvp isnt loved much as pve from.the devs..
Great vid!
