    Hi Erika! Really enjoying your content. I have roughly 31 days to give my gmat exam and I need help in the CR section. My accuracy rate is roughly 60% in this division. I have identified that my primary issue is panicking about the time crunch. While solving the question, I end up thinking that I'm taking too much time and then hurry myself into a tragic score. Moreover, appropriate comprehension of the passage is quite a task to say the least. If you could share few tips addressing these issues, then that'd be great. Thank you!

      Hi Priyanka! Feel free to email help@magoosh.com for more detailed tips :) But here are some suggestions.
      First, it's important to improve your reading speed and comprehension. This is something that happens as you read more. So pick up some books, journals, magazines, it all helps. If you find it interesting, all the better! It doesn't matter as much what you read, but it's important to have a reading habit, since that's how you become a better reader, which is crucial for CR.
      Second, timing is a strategy as well. So pick a few strategic questions to "skip" by just guessing and moving on. This should leave you sufficient time to dedicate to the questions you do answer.
      Third, use an error log to record and study your mistake. Try to find patterns, or reasons why you are getting those questions wrong. If you can learn from them and not repeat errors, you should certainly improve! But learning takes time and repetition, so you have to be reviewing those problems over and over.

    Hello Erika, I have about 25 days left for my GMAT exam, and I am not sure if in 25 days I can nail my verbal section. I am comfortable to handle quant section, but the verbal section always makes me feel very overwhelmed and rushed. It's been more than 1.5 months, I am trying to nail my reading comprehension and sentence correction part, but I just don't get those inference and primary purpose section correct. Also, I feel a lot of answer choices look very similar so its really hard to choose the best one. I feel there is so much detail in the question and too little time. Can you please share some tips and advise on how I can ace the reading and sentence correction section and if it is possible to score really well in 25 days?

      Hi Manaswin! You might not get a perfect score in just 25 days, but you can certainly make progress and improve from where you are now :) One big tip is to read. Just read, books, magazines, journals, anything you can! This will help tremendously for GMAT verbal, particularly reading comprehension. It's like magic (more like working out), the more you read, the faster you can go while understanding more details. Second, make an error log and use it heavily! You need to dive deep and try to understand why one choice is better than the other. And the more you do this, the more you will learn patterns of what mistakes you tend to make, what traps the GMAT likes to set, and what makes a good choice. These are absolutely the two biggest tips. And here are some more resources:

    How many questions should I get right to get v44 considering I get most of easy questions right?

    • @MagooshGMAT
      @MagooshGMAT  2 роки тому

      Hi Devesh! GMAT Scoring is pretty complicated, so it doesn't work as simply as a certain number of correct answers = a certain score. It depends on the difficulty level of the questions you get right or wrong. If you get a lot right, then the GMAT will give you harder questions until you start to get them wrong. And that difficulty level at which you start to get them wrong will be your score. So it's not related to how many you answered correctly, but the difficulty level at which you started to answer them incorrectly.

    I'm currently practising from Magoosh's premium subscription and following the 2 month plan. My weak area is the verbal section especially SC. The challenge is how to apply the rules in a SC question. I know I need to practice them daily, but it's getting frustrating as I keep getting them wrong. I average 4-5 questions out of 10. Please help.

      This is a very common struggle! Verbal is tough, and takes time to improve. Some additional tips to keep in mind: 1) Make a habit of reading. Improving your reading level works wonders on GMAT verbal! 2) Make use of a detailed error log, and review tough questions constantly. You don't want to make the same mistake twice!

    Hi, I don’t really understand the first tip. I do understand that the GMAT has the algorithm to select questions based on accuracy of the previous ones but i do not understand why prioritizing on bringing my weakest question type up will help bring my score up.

    • @MagooshGMAT
      @MagooshGMAT  Рік тому

      You don't want weak question types to pull down your overall score. If you get an easy question wrong in a question type you struggle with, for instance, that can affect the next question you get and your overall score.

    Hey Erika great video. Can you share with me a few tips on how to start with the Verbal section whenever I start my Verbal it feels very boring and I end my switching to Quants. I am planning to give my GMAT in the first week of September. Is the time frame appropriate to get a good GMAT score of 700+ in these 2 to 3 months. My main area of focus is Verbal I am comfortable with Quants verbal is the one which needs attention. Thanks in advance.😊

      Hi Akash! Thanks for the comment :) If quant is your strong suit then I would prioritize verbal in your studying. You can do a lot in 2+ months! I suggest starting a reading habit , as GMAT verbal is largely a test of your reading level. Make sure to keep a detailed error log and review it regularly as well! This video should help :)
