I have ADHD, so while I have a passion for my industry, there are times when I’m HYPERFOCUSED on something (like incorporating UX principles into online learning design- so have been binging your videos lol). There are also times when I’m not as interested. I think you have to go with the ebb and flow. And sometimes prioritizing family time or hobbies is right. You can’t prioritize everything, right? So, hopefully the guilt subsides.
ADHDer here too. I used to feel that type of guilt too. But over time, I have realized that I also need to be intentional with our me-time, that it’s okay if we can’t always be hyperfocused. What’s important is that we’ve delivered what’s expected of us, we did our best, and we’ve given priority to our mental health.
I've been subscribed to you for almost two years now and I finally got the confidence to say you are the start and inspiration of my journey to becoming a UX Designer! I had my first apprenticeship interview today and I really appreciate all of the incredibly valuable content you put out for us! Thank you so much Charli
Hi Charli! Just wanted to give you a quick update (although I'm not sure if you will see this!) but I completed 2 apprenticeships and I'm starting an internship this summer at a Fortune 500 company! While this is great progress, I have been feeling extremely unmotivated and lost in my UX journey while I wait for my internship to start. Do you have any tips or anyway I could reach out to you personally?
I know that feeling so well! When you’re new, you want to hit the ground running but realize it’s not as easy as it sounds so lots of patience and absorbing for me. Great video!!
