Randomly stumbled on your channel, nice setup and use of your Volcas. Personally I have The Bass, Sample 2, Drum, and FM. Have you considered using KORG Electribe 2 in your setup? One not very known feature of the Electribe 2 is that you can sequence 16 devices at the same time, 16 tracks that is. Electribe has 16 pads and each pad is assigned to a separate channel 1-16. One little quirk is that you need to set the volume of each channel/voice to 0.
Interesting. For me the Keystep Pro is a godsend because it has a keyboard, and that is my workflow. I suppose I could route a keyboard into an electric...Ill look into it!
@@flipspark , I have the basic Keystep, works well with Electribe 2 as an input device to record and play internal sounds and notes, but the input does not pass to the external synth, I guess you need a THRU box for that? Basically, you can use the Electribe 2 as a sequencer (16 notes x 4) plus you can chain patterns and assign pattern to a pad.
@@dvuemedia I can vouch for the power of this combo. Electribe 2 / 2S makes a great MIDI controller/sequencer for a pile of synths, the pad chord modes and "gate arp" XY control are easy to use and sound awesome, and it works seamlessly with a keyboard hooked up to its input.
oh and one more thing to rave about with this: you can get super cool effects by using the Volcas' internal sequencers *AND* driving them with external sequences from the Electribe at the same time. Set the pattern loop lengths to different values and voila, you have an evolving, shifting polymeter.
Hey bro, I own a couple Volcas and a Keystep. But I’m a noob and I’ve never really got very far in learning how to use them. Can you recommend any good guides or tutorials?
Very interesting..Ive been thinking of kicking off some kind of tutorials, but thinking about how it could be different to all the other channels. What specifically are you looking for in tutorials?
@@flipspark Well, since you’re asking, I’ve been having a really hard time learning how to use the Arturia Keystep with the Volca Keys or Volca Bass. I’ve found some videos on each one separately. But very few on both at the same same. I’d really like to learn how to program sequences and play them back on the Keystep while connected to the Volcas. I can’t quite figure it out. :(
@@flipspark Wow thanks a lot dude! That would be a huge help. I only want to add that I just have the basic Keystep 32, not the fancy one like you have. So just basic tutorials would be fantastic. Connecting the two up correctly. Programming and editing sequences. Information on what all the buttons do. Stuff like that. 😁👍🏼
Hey, it's "Sun In Your Eyes" with a drum beat. Wow. ;)
I really enjoy your music. Great job!
Killer set-up, jelly

😳👍👏😁🤩
What are the pad sounds and compression coming from?
Well with enough delay and reverb, most melodies build up a nice pad underneath them. There's no compression though? what do you mean by compression?
What do you use to power the volcas?
I cannot hear any noise or rumble

@@flipspark Yeah +1 for this. There is def not enough keystep + volca stuff around that's for sure.
Right. Noted. Ok leave this with me ill start organising some tutorials :)

Nice work! What are you using to create the super long sequences in the background via Midi?
The sequences/melodies are programmed on that keystep pro to the right of the shot. Gamechanger piece of kit
@@flipspark Is it possible to chain the patterns on your keystep?
@@flipspark Amazing. Can you do that on the Keystep 37? Thanks for the reply :)
I don't think you can on the keystep 37, no..
Boring
