Thank you, have just shared with my 16 yr old daughter.
She’s learning and struggling at times, mostly with patience.
It’s great to have someone else give her advice because kids don’t always like to have their mum instruct them..
So thank you ❤
Im 14, just taking notes for when i get my driving license! You explain so well, and i have pretty much everything in my head already, so thank you so much!
I have a 96 Honda Accord and it’s a manual so I had to take note I’m 14 almost 15
I’m learning to drive a van I’m the same age as wrll
@@volted0885 how did u get a car if u dont have a license?
@@volted0885 yoo same, I’m 14 and my dad is tow trucker and got a green manual Honda Accord lx (idk what year) but I’m excited to learn and drive it!
@@javiergan5754 some parents just keep their old cars for their kids until they learn to drive
this was actually smart, having your brother do it, thanks for the video !
grace jetts hard part is thinking of a name for the video so people know it’s me teaching my brother
Wow this was nice . I can learn manual but my dad just yells at me every time I stall . Once I put in reverse and almost hit someone that was pulling up behind me lol . He panics me and I can’t learn like that .
Same my dad also just yells at me when i stall
When you near the bite point add a be of gas
My dad laughed at me. There was more laughing than instruction, so I look back and wonder if he should have gotten out of the car and left me alone sooner.
Yea my dad does the same :/
As a mum I can explain why we yell.. It’s not you, it’s the money to fix our car and anyone else’s property if you accidentally bump into them. And the inconvenience of dealing with insurance companies, smash repairs, hire car companies, all of that.
Parents were once learners, and they would have been yelled at and felt frustrated at their instruction.
We yell and overreact, it’s what we’ve learnt to do in an ‘emergency’, it’s how some of us kept our kids alive all these years.
My lil bro is 9 and i am 19, i taught him to drive stick after i saw your video, so that he becomes used to it slowly
I Have a VW GTI & am DREADING teaching my fiance how to drive it. I've been driving manual transmission since I was 18 (cough 22yrs lol) I won't drive everything else. Anyhoo, your video definitely makes me feel more at ease about teaching him. I have fears of him grinding gears & popping the clutch lol One thing you definitely reminded me is that manual transmissions are way easier to drive than when I learned. I got my license is '98 & my 1st car was an '86 firebird. Not ideal to learn on lol Anyhoo, great video. My ONLY small Itty bitty complaint about the video is I wish you could hear your engine revving more as when to shift or when your stalling. Otherwise very good video : )
I have a 2018 Honda Civic LX Coupe that’s a 6 speed standard. I love it. I’ve been driving standard for awhile (I drove standard for two years before I got my car) now. I’m so glad I took the time to learn it. It’s so much fun to drive. Your brother will be happy he learned it. I won’t ever be going back to an automatic. My old car was an automatic and I hated that it was automatic. It’s an awesome skill to have. Every single one of my cars will be standard from now on.
This is super helpful, getting my first manual this month!!! Wish me luck guys! (1990 Miata)
Great car to learn on
This well help a lot for tommrow's training
Rule of thumb when moving off is to release clutch only when car has been moving for 3 seconds. This will ensure you move off smoothly.
I love you so much bro and I don’t even know you I’ve been dying to learn how to drive manual 😂😂😂going to pick my car up in a week
Right foot on the clutch😂😂😂 that was smart
It is a good tutorial, thanks for sharing!
Thanks you for you are my hiro🎉
The best show to learn driving manual car😍😍thanks
My dad taught me to drive a stick at 9 years old. We lived out in the country so there were roads everywhere. My car is a 5 speed and I won't drive anything else at 67 yo!
Very useful video thanks
Gonna try and teach my wife to drive a Manual. Gonna show her this !
I have a video where I teach my girlfriend also and she still doesn’t know what a clutch is
Thanks for the good video
Wish I learned in an si!
mans sure did better then i did XD
thanks good video bro
Thank you sir
Thank you so much
Here in europe u do ur drive test with a manual only atleast in italy idk other countries
Nice video!
This video is awesome since it shows mistakes you're gonna come across as other videos does everything perfectly its like wtf am I suppose to learn
Are you able to do a video of stopping suddenly I keep lifting my foot off the clutch too quick
@@nicholelettlynnlove8791 stopping suddenly? Press the clutch all the way in and hit the brakes
Thanks so much for the video
2:45 why did u say that was perfect 🤣🤣🤣
Perfect to the fact that he got it moving without stalling.
@@ThePropperWay thats what good teachers do😁😁
For the first time it wasn’t bad at all
great video !
Say I’ve been driving and when driving in 1st the car will jerk a lot, could that be me not engaging the clutch right or could it be something else
Depending on the car first should really only be used to get moving. In my civic si I start going in first and shift to 2nd at 6 miles per hour. If you try to drive in first the slightest changes in throttle will cause the car to jerk. If you are talking about it jerking as you are starting to move then it could be you releasing the clutch too fast.
@@ThePropperWay ah okay I’ll try letting off slower thanks for feedback
I feel like I' need my own car
I thought it was bad to come to a stop while holding the break and clutch at the same time? does that not ruin the clutch? i thought u had to put the car in neutral first and then stop
You can hold the brake and the clutch to come to a complete stop. Depending on who you ask, some people like to put the car in neutral while at a red light and some like to keep it in gear with the clutch pressed. One time I was stopped at a light and an accident happened in front of me. Since I had the car in gear I was able to move quickly and was able to avoid one of the cars that was in the accident from hitting me.
When your changing the gears and pushing down the clutch do you also let go of the gas
Yes you should
I just bought myself a new manual car yesterday and I'm currently learning how to drive one for the first time now. The two hardest parts for me right now are starting from being stopped, and knowing what to do to slow down and then pick back up again. For example I have to drive down the road and turn left into my works parking lot so I need to slow down, take the turn, then keep going until I get to my spot then stop again. For some reason that part seems so hard to do in my head. Any advice on how to change that or simplify it for me would be so helpful!
That really just comes with practice and learning what gear the car needs to be in at a certain speed
now if only i had a manual and someone to supervise me to see if i making a mistake i had a friend who said he would show me then i ask him and he said no cause hes afraid ill mess up him clutch.
Me: Pfff I bet he already knows how to drive manual...
*dude puts his right foot on the clutch*
Me: Ohhh ._.
That was his first and only time ever driving a manual. He couldn’t have cared less about driving a manual but thought it would be a good teaching aid to have a beginner do it.
0:42 But if you stall the car while it's moving, wouldn't that be really dangerous since you'd lose all your assists like power steering etc, and other safety features?
Not really possible to stall while moving. If the clutch is not pressed and you are moving then no matter what gear you are in the engine won’t stop. It may be very low rpms but the engine will be spinning
@@ThePropperWay like by braking without having the clutch pressed in while the engine at low rpm and the car is moving I mean. Wouldn't that still stall the engine?
@@GENKI_INU unless you come to a complete stop while braking the engine will still be spinning. you can only stall when the car is stopped and you are not pressing the clutch.
I've lost my power steering and brakes before. You have to turn the wheel harder and push the brake harder. It might be dangerous if you're in traffic, which is why you practice and get your stalls out of the way with no one around. :)
Honda civic type t
I stall
VIMBAINASHE PELLAGIA CHIKUWA it happens even to people who have been driving a manual for a while. Just got to keep practicing and be “confident” with the gas pedal and clutch.
That’s right. Even if you’re a professional, you will still stall at some point when you’re driving.
There is no way he didnt know how to drive manual and took off first try lol CAP!
that was his first time ever driving a manual and the last time ever. He isn't into cars and hasn't driven a manual since.
@@ThePropperWay damn some people just have skills then, im stalling at every other intersection but im good now lol thanks keep it propper
