The effect this song had on today’s generation is the exact same response in my generation and I’m a great grandmother now. Loved these two gentlemen singing. They were awesome.
I never thought I would be listening to two lines of a song 51 times! That just shows how magical those guys were. I'm glad I grew up in the sixties and seventies. I never knew I was listening to talent that would never be matched.
It's been more than 55 years, but every women who listens to this song still feels they are singing to her personally, and with good reason, this is a timeless song.
My mom dated Bill Medley in the 60's. I have pictures of me laying on Bobby Hatfields back in the sand in So California. I loved Bobby, but I was about 5, so it wasn't meant to be. :) Both were incredibly wonderful men to me.
On the surface I agree with what you are saying. Except the song is called “you’ve lost that loving feeling” the guys singing don’t know why. They say they’d get down on knees IF (notice the if) she’d love him like she used to. It’s conditional. Not sure what “game today’s men need to step up”. Women been losing that loving feeling since the beginning and men then or now don’t know why or what to do about it. The “game” in this recording is 2 fantastic singers with fantastic voices - Blue eyed soul accompanied by fantastic music.

To see these women react so heart felt to the "get down on my knees for you" line just confirms what a real woman wants and craves, THEN follow it up with the heart ache felt when they hear " I wish you love me like you used to do" a lot of these women have loved and remembering that first time falling in love and being loved and knowing that magic is never the same, especially after a major heart break, it brings a well of emotion to the ones who've been there

Amen! It touches my heart to see young women appreciate what it feels like to be respected and revered. I was born in 1961 and was privileged to have been exposed to real music, actual love songs where a man wasn't afraid to beg or show vulnerability and women would literally swoon (showing my age). Sadly the tables have turned but with outlets like this and reaction videos, the younger generations can experience what raw and live music supposed to sound like, no bells and whistles, just the voices and instruments that delivered respectful lyrics. I I honestly think women miss being courted and pursued. That kind of stuff never gets old. I love it still when my husband chases me and looks for me when I’m gone. This is why most of these women react they way they did.
Feminism got the ladies thinking its toxic masculinity if you dont go away the first time they say "no".
Lots of ladies start off smiling, then lust at that manliest of voices, and descend into a moist pile of longing for Bobby's sweet soul tones. Me too, and I'm a man...
He's getting on his knees because he's BEGGING her to love him again, like she used to.
This was my mother's music I still love it
These ladies are beautiful!!

I love this video! So happy to see music put a smile on someone's face.
Can you imagine I can hear those lines 52 times in a row and still love it! We women are all the same. 😊

Bill had that voice but when Bobby came in with that unchained melody(pun intended) everyone smiled.
