I would like to thank you for these drives. I have cancer and have been mostly bed bound for two years. I came across your channel about a week ago and have watched your San Diego to Vancouver drive and am now starting this one. I am really enjoying a taste of the outdoors and I have always loved road trips. Once again, thank you. This is much appreciated.
Yes, southern Utah has incredible scenery with many National Parks in the southwestern and southeastern part of the state. Personally I thought they were better than the Grand Canyon in Arizona! Well at least a lot less crowded with tourists.
I am from Chile, and today I drove with you from Ely to Las Vegas. A Fascinating journey. Before Covid I traveled on various highways in California, Nevada and Arizona. This virtual trip took me back to those days. Thank you very, very much for giving me the opportunity to travel again. God bless you
I'm such a geek when I watch your videos.. cause I love watching the scenery and listening to the sounds of the road, but I also am well into the little red dot in the corner that keeps moving, I find looking at it fascinating 😁.
I just stopped the drive at 6:06:14. The altitude is 7,310ft. this is the height of Australia's highest mountain (Mount Kosciusko). I live a relatively flat country (Australia) I am enjoying this drive. What an amazing country. The state road drives of yours are a lot more scenic than the interstate drives. Thank you for the time spent in producing these videos.
Thank you! Australia is a country that I'd love to visit one day. The flat areas make you appreciate the mountains. The middle third of North America is flat, and when I drove across the country to Seattle, I remembered how excited I was when I could see the Rockies for the first time.
So glad I found this channel! After my accident 2 years ago it makes it super hard to travel places far away and long distances. Also your videos are giving me a chance to see different parts of the world that I may never get a chance to see. Keep em coming. Thanks! :)

A round about way to get to Las Vegas, but much more scenic route. Start in Nevada and end up in Nevada after going through two other states. Nice video!!
Thanks! Much of this routing of this three-day trip involved seeing areas that I had wanted to see in my six-day, 4,400-mile road trip that I did in August 2017 that I just couldn't fit in the schedule.
Went the "Loneliest Road in America" (Nevada portion) route, US 50, I see. That's a roadtrip: US 50 from Sacramento to Ocean City, Maryland! Anyway, this is a kicker of itinerary - it's like the "Scoliosis Route" from Ely to Vegas. Quite the hook east, especially considering that it's pretty much a straight shot from Ely to Vegas on US 93. But that's no fun! I enjoy these videos, thanks for taking the trouble.
I planned this route several weeks in advance. I knew that I wanted to see some of the spectacular sites in Utah (there are still many more that I wish to see, so I'll be back there). I've actually always wanted to drive across US-50, but I've not had the opportunity to do the complete trip, which inspired me to drive extensively on US-50 in my NY-CA trip from 2022.
Thanks for another great video. In the beginning the landscape is pretty monotonous and desolate, but you will be compensated for that later. In Utah there are incredibly impressive landscapes. I have been there twice. First in 1994, when I stopped in Moab to visit the Arches and Canyonlands National Parks. After that I traveled further over the Grand Canyon and later to Las Vegas. My second visit to Utah was in 1997, when I came from the west and visited first the National Parks Zion and Bryce Canyon and later again Canyonlands and Arches. It was a fantastic experience every time. Maybe I will make it there again sometime.
I would like to make my 4th trip to Utah in 4 years to visit those parks, since I wasn't able to work them in with this road trip. I would also like to visit some places in Colorado again, too. With this awful pandemic, I wasn't able to really go anywhere this year, but I'm aiming to make 2021 my best travel year yet.
Thank you. Still watching - but a minor point - your first stop in Delta was after 170.8 miles. You then went 1.6 miles to the second stop, and restarted the mile counter (top right) but you should have added those 1.6 miles to the running total to make it "plus 172.4 miles".
Good catch! I failed to add that bit into the total. The big reason why I don't include the distance in my newest videos is because of the fact that every time I shut the camera off, it restarts the distance without any way of summing the total up. The Virb software creates the route (white) line by using all of the clips in the timeline, so I don't know why it can't do the same for the distance total. Some minor complaints for an otherwise great camera.
Wow! As much as 11 hours of driving! Autor, how do you stand such a long way??😯 Maybe you are carrying something? what a sound was in 35:16?😄 and in 8:18:11--what year was this road built? 10:33:40--are they still in this traffic jam?😬🛣️🚁🚓🚗🚙🚚🚛 It was great walking, very cool, thank you! 🦅⛰️👍

The Garmin Virb Ultra 30, which records the GPS information. The Virb software extracts the GPS data and puts it in the video. All the rest of the editing, including the overlays and texts, I do in Final Cut Pro.
When I'm finished creating the video in Final Cut Pro, a video like this takes 5-6 hours to render. And it takes another 8-16 hours to upload and process in UA-cam. I enjoy doing these videos, and even more so now that I have a following.

Love the addition of the distance marker on this video, although the map now has the full days route on it at once meaning less detail and the little red dot moves so slowly. Over 11 hours compared to 2-3 hour sections between pit stops/fuel etc. Minor gripe, I do enjoy your videos and hope you will get the chance to hit the road again soon..

hey Unclecoolie Production, There's barely any long diving videos for europe and asia. I was thinking that you could be the perfect channel to start doing that in other parts of the world.
4:24:26 The first cyclist (so pretty!) I meet in your videos! Is it legal to ride a bike on the roads in your country? The thought often visits: the road is so smooth, downhill - I wish I could ride a bike!))))
Don't want to be 'that guy' but.... you forgot to add the 1.6 miles between the fuel stop and maccas in Delta UT to your 'distance since start' counter when you left maccas :-) approx. 2:16:40 through to 2:19:55 PS... Yes, clearly I have no life!
The distance tracker is based solely on the camera's GPS and how much I use in Virb when I export it. Ditto for the route line in the upper-left corner. When there's a gap in the distance tracker, it's because I edited out that section of video.
I have no idea. I'm thinking someone abandoned him there, which is awful. I was not in any position to help him (I didn't even have decent phone signal there). He was standing there staring at me like he was asking for help. I sure hope that someone helped him.

Wow!! 9 West and 15 South entering NV is unreal..
The drive through Zion is spectacular.
Have you ever driven thru Long Island? I think it's a very special kind of area, would be fun to see.
I grew up only about an hour or so north of NYC, but I have never been to LI.
How long does it took you to upload this length of video to UA-cam?
It took about 4-5 hours to upload, but it took overnight to process to 1080p quality.
how do you refrain from just going 150mph during these stretches?
It's tempting, but I don't like getting speeding tickets, especially far from home.
nice, wondering if it is now safe to travel by road
I'm not sure, but I can't wait.
Hey, remember me? I am watching this now!
Magnificent desolation. Thanks for bringing it to all of us.
It was my pleasure.
What brand of sunglasses was the driver wearing? Seems he was looking into the sun the whole trip.
I don't even know, to be honest. I just get the cheapest ones that I can find at Target that are polarized.
I did a trip like this on my way to Salt Lake City. I love traveling.
Same here, especially in that part of the country. It's so different from where I live in Virginia.
Magnificent 👏👏👏👏
Thank you!
At 10:48:55 the sunset is so beautiful
5:22:40 my wife's favorite area in utah is around escalante. amazing views from this time stamp on
I loved doing this drive. When I did my Omaha to Santa Monica back to Omaha drive in August 2017, I had wanted to drive through Escalante but couldn't due to time-constraints.
It’s probably easier said than done but a video of the entire length of US-50 would be awesome - from Ocean City, MD to Sacramento, CA.
I'd love to do that road trip, along with an entire US-66.
@@unclecoolie Yeah, Route 66 would be a great video - whatever is left of it.
This video is very good
And more one thing. I want to ask you, if you have full versions of travels in train?
Not yet, but that's something I want to do.
Thank you very much for this!
Thank you!
Hai.. Really like you videos. May i know what camera equipment and gps tracking application that you used. Thanks
Hi. Thanks. Yes, I used the Garmin Virb Ultra 30 with a 512 GB micro SD card. I also brought my MacBook with a 4 TB external hard drive to back up each day's road trip video. The Virb software puts the GPS data on the video. I use Photoshop to create the graphic images, and I use Final Cut Pro for all of the rest of editing.
@@unclecoolie Thanksss, very appreciate for your reply. It might helpful for me to create any roadtrip video after this. Hopefully your channel will be more success, more subscribers, and likes. Keep up your good work. Thumbs up 👍👏
What were those white mounds after getting off Teasdale Road, on highway 12?
What time mark?
Thank you for the great video! Can I ask how you add the real time map, speed, coordinates to the video?
Thank you! I used the Garmin Virb Ultra 30 to record the video, and it records the GPS. The Virb software extracts the GPS data and puts it on the video. I use a combination of Photoshop and Paint to make all of the other graphics, and then I use Final Cut Pro for all of the rest of the editing.
9:43:34 my Family drove by there when I was going to Zion national Park in Utah from Las Vegas
I loved driving through that area.
I know it is 20th anniversary of 9/11 which is yesterday. Where were you at the time of the attack?
I was living in Quantico, VA, and the base was locked down for 2 days after that. I remember it like it was yesterday.
Love your videos. What kind of camera do you use and how do you get the map to appear on the left side of the screen? Thanks.
Thank you! I used the Garmin Virb Ultra 30, which records GPS information, with a 512 GB micro SD card. The Virb software displays the GPS information per my selection, and I use Final Cut Pro for all other editing. I use Paint/Photoshop for all of the graphics, such as the highway signs and the map overlays.
This kind of detail makes the videos much more interesting and useful.
One more thing, how do you link the GPS data to the red dot on the map? Thank you for your expertise.
@@4circuit The Virb software puts the dot on the map, along with the white line route. I created the map overlay to show the approximate location of where that dot is.
Thanks
Sunset. Rock. excellent video make more video.👍🇮🇳
I stayed at the Holiday Inn in Ely, NV and worked there for a month.
hey Unclecoolie Production, There's barely any long diving videos for europe and asia. I was thinking that you could be the perfect channel to start doing that in other parts of the world.
I'd love to do more overseas trips, but as I'm not a quadrillionaire, I have to wait for opportunities to pop up.
4:32:07 Rocks like petrified backs of dinosaurs...
Utah has some awesome topography!
4:24:26 The first cyclist (so pretty!) I meet in your videos! Is it legal to ride a bike on the roads in your country? The thought often visits: the road is so smooth, downhill - I wish I could ride a bike!))))
It's legal on most roads. In general, it's only illegal on most freeways.
Thank you!
Are you the one who put the words or the dashcam?
There are others who do as well.
@@unclecoolie So you bought a dashcam which has the letters?
@@AaronDanielLIsles No, I add the text using Final Cut Pro. The GPS information comes from the Virb software that the Garmin Ultra 30 uses.
@@unclecoolie So will you have a tour in Philippines with your car?
@@unclecoolie I hope you can.
Imagine having road trips as your job
I would get bored if I had to do this for a living. 1-2 times per year is perfect for me.
It would be like sex with supermodels. The thrill would pall after a while.
Just be a trucker.
awesome!! so beautiful
Don't want to be 'that guy' but....
you forgot to add the 1.6 miles between the fuel stop and maccas in Delta UT to your 'distance since start' counter when you left maccas :-) approx. 2:16:40 through to 2:19:55
PS... Yes, clearly I have no life!
The distance tracker is based solely on the camera's GPS and how much I use in Virb when I export it. Ditto for the route line in the upper-left corner. When there's a gap in the distance tracker, it's because I edited out that section of video.
@@unclecoolie cool. thanks for clearing that up
1:28:16 but how?! there is NOTHING anywhere near you!!
I have no idea. I'm thinking someone abandoned him there, which is awful. I was not in any position to help him (I didn't even have decent phone signal there). He was standing there staring at me like he was asking for help. I sure hope that someone helped him.
From 5:22:17... It's...it's... takes my breath off!😮
I agree. Now I wish that this video was in 3-D.
Wow fueron 1163 kilómetros 😱😱😱 muchas gracias por este video 😊😊😊
My pleasure!
cool trip
What would this be like in V R get it sorted Unclecoolie 🤨😉 you’re the best
Thanks. I want to try 360 videos at some point.
Hello, Your channel is gorgeous. I like that.
My channel is a road trip channel too. Like yours.
Thank you for sharing. I want to be here again.
Anyway, how to display the map and the other trip information on your video?
Is there any special app for that? Thank you again.
Thank you! The Virb software that the Garmin Ultra 30 uses puts the GPS information in the video. All other editing I do with Final Cut Pro. I make the graphic overlays using Photoshop.
@@unclecoolie
Oh, thank you so much, my friend. You are super kind.
@@unclecoolie - Thank you very much for answering this question. I was so impressed that you could display lat / long, elevation, speed, etc, on the video. Was intensely curious! Thank you for your videos. I watch them frequently during morning elliptical sessions.
@@peterouillette3063 You're very welcome!
Great video
Thanks!
Nice details on screen!
Thank you!
