- Rendering bear fat into Lard for long term canning is a simple task if done correctly, this video goes over step by step including where to remove the best fat off a bear.
Low and slow is the key, to high of a heat it will burn the lard making it stink fowl. I also cover proper filtration processes which makes is clear for cooking, leather treatment, waterproofing and much more.

Daniel E thanks for watching
Man I’m looking forward to seeing how you use this, I’ve never seen it done before. So do you use it the same way you use bacon fat? My dad was a huge bear hunter when he was alive so I really like to eat it but never tried this before. I’m definitely going to keep this in mind if I ever get to go to my bear camp lol.. it’s been crazy busy so it’s been a while😂 thanks for sharing brother!
Damn looks like a butcher shop.....great video
haha thats not that bad, should check out my most recent Moose video over 30 moose hanging in quarters
nice , great use for the bear fat.
Thank you Judith, Im going to be making follow up videos using it, for things like candles, baking, leather etc. hope your enjoying.
How long for it to solidify? I poured it in quart jars and it’s seems to be taking forever. Should I put it in the fridge?
My bear fat did not solidify, my pork lard does but I just keep mine as oil and use it that way
How did you seal those jars?
Do you recommend canning the fat?
Most fats seem pretty shelf stable for a quite a bit, obviously not forever
👍👍
Does it bear fat has the same smell with pork fat? Is it good for hair regrows?
I want one bottle.... How to purchase?
Not for sale sorry
How do you store your bear fat once it’s Jared?
Check my homesteading playlist I have the video on canning it
