    I live in the State of Ohio and the USA, and I have just finished watching and studying your great instructional video, and I want to thank you for it and to say that your video is absolutely the BEST of all the electronic instructional videos I have ever watched. Unlike many of such videos, yours does not clutter up the instructions with distracting juvenile music in the background, nor do you speak so rapidly and with slang designed to portray you as "so cool" but which forces me to replay their videos over and over to try to follow and understand. Instead, your video is like a friendly but professional university lecture. Easy to follow and understand with no need to continuously pause and go back. I thank you very much for a job well done and I am hitting the button to Subscribe to more of your instructional videos. Thank you so much!

    Many thanks for sharing this. I've been trying for months to get my RM mini 3 to work. I wasted a whole lot of time using Broadlink E-Control. Using the Intelligent Home Center (IHC) app worked great. Before, I could not get Alexa to authenticate the skill, no matter what login I used. With IHC, everything works well.

      @@TechTalkwithAJ It took me a while to figure out the voice commands for custom scenes. You have to say "Alexa, Turn On " My scenes are: Favorite, Mute, Pause, and TV Power. For those commands that toggle on/off, you always have to say "Alexa Turn ON " .The words "Turn OFF" don't work. It's a bit clumsy, but it works.

    • @TechTalkwithAJ

      @@zipzit2go for such commands customize this command in the Alexa app.. like for me I have a scene called movie mode and I have customised it in the Alexa app.. so for both switching it on or off, I just have to say Alexa, movie mode.

    • @zipzit2go
      @zipzit2go 5 років тому

      I get a whole lot of "Sorry, I'm not sure about that..." from Alexa when I shorten the verbal command to just the simple "Alexa " .. The only thing that works reliably is "Alexa, Turn ON " . Perhaps because my terms are so generic?

    I have a question. If I have 1Echo Dot in a room + 1 Broadlink Mini 3 and I set it up to control the TV on that room, and I have the exact same setup in another room, can I set everything up so that I can use the exact same voice command and depending on what echo dot I talked to, it activates the Mini 3 in that same room and not the other one?
    For example:
    Alexa, turn on the TV --> the Mini 3 in that room turns on the samsung tv in that room.
    then go to the other room and say to the other Echo Dot:
    Alexa, turn on the TV --> the other Mini 3 turns on the tv in that room (samsung or other brand).

    Informative review AJ... but I have just 2 questions -
    1). Is this wall mountable, and does it have 360° coverage?
    Reason: My Smart TV is in front, my Airtel STB and Denon AVR are below it, my AC is to the left and smart bulbs all around, so I need to mount it somewhere on the wall behind me (keeping it centrally on a center table is NOT feasible ).
    2.) Does it also have RF and WiFi Remote capabilities (for my RGB strip-lights)?
    EDIT:
    Oh yeah, one more thing. Which one would you recommend - Sensy Smart Remote, Broadlink RM Mini 3 or Broadlink RM Pro/+ ?

    • @TechTalkwithAJ
      @TechTalkwithAJ  5 років тому

      It has 360° coverage so even if you keep it next to your TV, it will take care of all the devices from one corner right from your TV, AVR, STB and TV.
      It does not have RF but only IR. If you need RF your can go for RM PRO.
      And yes, you can control it via your phone app along with personal assistants like Echo and Google Home.
      I hope this answers all your doubts. Feel free to reach out for any additional information.
      Thanks for watching the video!

    • @TechTalkwithAJ

    Now I have a question: Have you been able to use this device to duplicate all the buttons on the Fire TV Stick Remote so that I voice control all functions through Alexa?

    • @TechTalkwithAJ
      @TechTalkwithAJ  4 роки тому +1

      Unfortunately, I have not used this device with the fire stick.. the firestick uses a bluetooth remote and this device only supports IR devices.
      As I am using a Mi Box that can be controlled via a IR remote, the RM Mini 3 works perfectly.

      @@TechTalkwithAJ Thank you very much for this clarification. Googling, there seems to be much confusion on internet discussions about this. However, by my good fortune, Amazon just announced a new $35 device which seems to solve the problem, as it is very important to my circumstances to have voice control without the remote. See:

    PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, DO NOT BUY this crap: the RM Mini 3. IT DOES NOT CONNECT to the app anymore. It worked up to a point when they made app upgrade. The hardware it's OK but it's clear that Broadlink (who are obviously big crooks) want you to buy the newer version 4. I've tried everything (on IOS) all the apps IHC, Broadlink app, Broadlink e-control. It simply cannot connect to the device using both available connection methods. Piece of Crap
