The paint job is breathtaking. I'm hoping that if i can get 1/10 the result you did on this SL, on the Tamiya GMA T.50 model I'm just starting, I'll be happy. Hopefully, some of the model painting skills I'm trying to develop will transfer over to a 64 Barracuda I'm restoring. Right now, it's an empty shell on a rotisserie, and I'm doing the blocking, seam sealing, etc. So I'm in the process of trying to develop my airbrush and paint gun skills simultaneously, and hoping each will transfer over to the other, to some degree. If you could shoot a real car the way you did this Gullwing, you'd be good enough to paint a real one. The way you blended the flares into the body is perfect. The guy who's going to shoot the body on my Barracuda does some really nice show cars, and if my car were to come out looking half as good as your model, I'd be ecstatic. I really appreciate your attention to detail, and all the neat tips and tricks you show in your video. You've got me stoked.
Thank you very much for your kind words. Building and photographing model cars is my passion. But I think working on a real car would be a lot more difficult than this. I don't think I have the ability to reach that level yet. Sorry about late reply to your comment.
Again I'm so sorry for the loss of Sam. The one thing that helped me was knowing they will always be with in your thoughts and things that happen around you. Keep up your good work.
Leaving the small part of the sprue as a holder for painting and detailing is one of the things that i never thought to do in years of model building. Brilliant!
This may be the best 1/24 car kit ever produced. That tube frame is astounding! I still use tube glue and a toothpick to simulate welds. I have a miniature sander, too, but I use a flex-i-file to smooth fender seams because it won't flatten them. I always tape the body parts together before painting to avoid colour changes that can happen by painting them separately. Absolutely gorgeous!
I thought I had the only model sander in the world, lmao, mine is an old hand hold battery nail manicuring for filing down nails, with multiple attachments. Found two when I was cleaning out a suite after tenant left. Works great.
One of the best videos I’ve ever seen. Of any topic. Fantastic presentation/production. A beautiful, tasteful build. I am so jealous. Wish I had the patience.
Fantastic work like always, was a pleasure seeing you attach the MGSF transkit and bring it to life. Awesome colours too, they match so well together. Well done
Love this take on the classic Mercedes Gullwing SL and didn't know such a version existed. The color reminds me of one of M-B's modern day colors and I was thinking that for the full resto mod treatment, an engine from the Revell SLS or the AMG GT engine if available would suit this kit very nicely. But all in all, I'm very impressed with what you've done here. Great job!
I get the detail painting, but you've reminded me I really must do better with paint finish. Yours' is sublime . Thank you for the inspiration sir . Pete UK. 👍
I don't see the diference between, this beautyful model with the real Gulwing. ¡It's the real thing! ¡Fantastic, amazing, awesome, beautyful, ¡All in one! ¡The hand of a Saint made this masterpiece! ¡It's to much beautyful to the words! This Is a "magical" work. Congratulations! OMG 😱😱😱😱 Máster Modeller.........¡I salute you! Greetings for you, from Guatemala, The Land of Quetzal Bird, Símbol of Freedom.
Nagai san is always my idol so it make me feel nervous to make a scale model of his masterpiece works. But I will definitely do it when my skills are good enough.
This is peak level craftsmanship You do amazing work, so much effort and care put into the models you build Thanks for an awesome video, the model looks outstanding
great job, but just curious about why you put the metal stickers first, then the clear coat 2nd. Normally people put the clear, polish it and then put the metal stickers.
Thanks for your visiting! For the metal sticker I did it this way because it will be more easier when you want to clean , polish or wax the finished model after time passed. You won't have to worry about these stickers coming off they will be there forever.
@@OMGscaleworks I have subscribed to the channel. When my limited free time allows, I will gradually watch your other videos. As a Porsche fan, I am particularly excited about the 935. As a teenager, it was my absolute dream car 😁 Keep it up and I look forward to more posts. 😎
Beautiful model and your craftmanship really adds to that! Maybe I missed it, but it looks as if the pieces you put together haven't been glued yet but are just a kind of a dry-fit. Is that correct, or do you just apply a very minimal amount of glue that we as a viewer just don't see?
Thank you so much for your comment! Yes, mostly steps in my video I did a dry fit and glued it in place after recording cause It’s too risky to make a mistake if I did it while recording.
Thanks for sharing the excellent jobs. In video 17:05, how many clear coats have you applied on the car surface? After applying the clear coats, did you ever polish the car surface? Thanks
Thanks for your visiting too. I applied only a coat of clear cause it’s 2K clear that a bit thicker than normal clear coat. Then I did wetsanding and compound it also, If you want to know the detail of this process I already did a video in my channel.
