That is a hell of an improvement from that first olympic distance to a sub 10 iron distance! That time can't all be explained by getting a faster bike setup, that was years of hard work. Well done!
Thanks very much :) yes the kit helps but it's so much more than that isn't it. Appreciate the comment :)
Nice one Dan! Great to relate to so much of what you spoke about and what a journey you have been on. Keep up the good work and great content mate 👏👏
Cheers dude! You're going to smash next year, stick at it!
Absolutely loved this and it’s given me the incentive to try and get back into training after years of illness and injury. Let the fun begin. Been following your channel for a while now and find it very interesting. Thank you for putting your time into producing the channel.
This is awesome to hear, thanks very much! All the best for your journey :)
Such a positive message into the community at the end, HAVE A GO!
Thanks very much! :)
I’ve never done a triathlon, mainly on account of not being able to swim. But one thing I have learned from doing expedition length adventure races that probably applies to triathletes as well is “pain only hurts”. A little bit of soreness won’t kill you, don’t quit because quitting will haunt you for years.
That's such a cool quote! There's a lot more pain in life than we'll ever experience through exercise eh :) Thanks for that!
Nice improvements dan
Still going after my goal for my local tri and a few goal races
Roth is a dream race for me
Thanks! Hey the local races can be awesome too. One day in Roth then 👍👍
Over 3 years I’ve followed you this is the first time I’ve heard the full story. Love it, i did my 1st event as a 70.3 it actually worked out but it took me just under 7 hours so not so fast but love it been chasing that full distance for the last 3 years and I think I’m 2.5 years before getting there at Ironman CDA In Idaho
I think I'd like to do a podcast style interview about it, but nobody will have me on LOL! You got this, just keep chipping away :)
@@TriathlonDan I’m sure you could find a pod that will have you. What a bout Harry and the butt I mean chase pack podcast? If you offer someone a colab on your UA-cam channel I be you could find a taker
That is amazing! What a great achievement! You have inspired us to start our own Ironman journey right from the start! Would love if you could give it a look, let me know what you think!
Thanks very much - sounds cool, I’ll check it out!
Having been on a similar journey myself, I can completely relate. Only difference is that I could never sink a pint that quickly! 🤣🤣
Haha nice one! Something to work on eh ;)
You do make me realise that I can do IMW however my confidence is gone. I'm not doing triathlon next year, I've two marathons and race to the stones booked, I do like the look of Weymouth though
Confidence comes from within mate, those events will stand you in good stead, you don't need to rush it!
Great video Dan. What were your Ironman Wales time?
Thanks very much! I think they were 11:17 and 11:24 or something like that, very close to eachother anyway, that race is survival not a race!
