    We’re here over a year later - We as in me and my three year old ❤️ We were having a conversation about being healthy !! I told him a few times “he’s healthy! He eats his vegetables” “he exercises and plays and has fun” he pointed to you and said “mommy he’s strong! I want to grow like him”
    It was inspiring to watch this’
    I am vegan - he is not, YET!
    I found this video originally in search of inspiration for eating more Whole Foods and less processed vegan foods!
    My son happened to pop behind me! I was so happy to hear him say he looked up to you! Keep it up!

      Do it. I am going to start uploading videos soon to show what a vegan diet has done for me in just one year. And im 53. I was 220lbs with a 43 inch waist 7 months ago. Now Im 170lbs with a 32 inch waist. And have never had more energy or looked better. And you do not need more than 100 grams of protein a day to thrive. Its a myth.

    I just found your channel a few days ago! Awesome to see a real nutritionist who doesn't lie about nutrition! Thank you so much! Your videos keep me more motivated than ever in my vegan lifestyle (almost 3 years now) as I am criticized in some ways to not eating animals. I live in France and when you don't eat our good french cheese, baguette, bourguignon beef, tartiflette (french-style cheesy potato bake with pickled onions, gherkins and charcuterie) and others typical french recipes full of cruelty, you're considered like evil and they tell you: " you'll get deficiencies"! But the people who say that are the same who take so many medications and strive to lose weight!
    Keep on going with good motivational contents! Peace!

    I'm 51-years-old and I've been weight training for about 2 years, minus a few months to recover from a broken clavicle in 4 places and surgery, and trying to lose weight. To my amazement, I have not lost any weight, even though I'm working out with weights and high-intensity workouts 4 days a week, although my shape is changing...slowly. Part of the struggle for me has been meals. I eat clean. No junk! I've followed different eating plans but I'm mostly vegan and have wanted to go completely vegan for a while now. Couldn't seem to achieve that without feeling really sluggish and tired so I kept some animal protein in my diet (a little chicken, turkey, or fish once a day). The bulk of my meals have been fruits and veggies (mostly veggies) and then I heard about guys like you so here I go again. I'm doing my research so I will be checking out more videos by you and others. Thanks for posting this and showing how easily it can be done! Really appreciate it! Also...if you have any tips for me...I'd appreciate it!

    I'm 47, mostly vegan, and a runner. That said, I still battle the "food baby" probably because I like beer and don't make the best food choices when I drink. I recently changed my diet to get more nutrient dense, clean foods and got on the wagon. I've seen a big improvement over the past month, but I've been concerned about getting enough calories. This video really helped with that.

I've been very curious about vegan bodybuilding because, as you know, most of the bodybuilding community always says you need PROTEIN PROTEIN PROTEIN and it does seem like it comes best from animal sources...Could you make more videos explaining how it works that your carb macros are so high and your protein so low but you're still able to build muscle? Thank you!!

    • @Simnettnutrition
      @Simnettnutrition  7 років тому +5

      The preworkout I take is all natural (vegan preworkout). The energy is coming from caffeine, so it would be like if I had a cup of coffee before working out. It's not something that you need to take to workout, but I enjoy the boost it gives me. There are MANY pre workouts on the market that are not healthy and have 5x the amount of caffeine (from synthetic sources) so you really need to be careful!

      Tim Morris ---this vega formula is legit. It gives a steady state of energy. Of course if ur caffeine sensitive avoid it close to bed time. Great natural ingredients.

    If you want to avoid processed food I suggest you stay away from the VEGA and make your own nut milk (you do have a Vitamix) which is super easy!

    Great video, really useful to see how you prepare the food. I've just watched the film "What the Health" on Netflix and decided to move over to a plant based diet which is a big change seeing as I've been a meat eater most of my life. Your channel was alongside the film and various discussions about it. I like the fact that you combine exercise with the diet and this have given me real motivation to change the diet. Last year I started weight training as my main exercise instead of team sports and obviously everyone goes on about protein but you've convinced me it's better to go plant than meat and powder! I'm looking forward to watching your channel more and picking up more tips, so great job and thanks!

    Youre just super awesome loved the video im trying to transition as we speak and I've been somewhat lost as far as how to get in my macros but this really helped me out however im wondering if women could get away with eating that many bananas without puffing up lol thats a lot of sugar although i know its natural sugar im still concerned any insight for me since women burn a lot differently ????

    • @Alison0305
      @Alison0305 5 років тому +1

      Dayah Nicole natural sugars are processed by the body differently so as long as your diet is balanced you can eat plenty of fruit

    My Bro sent me this link. We're in our late 50s. So many issues can develop from eating an inflammatory, irritating, acidic diet. Even though I know it, it's so daunting to change my diet. Low estrogen has given me ADHD and serious urinary tract issues. Eating acidic foods irritates just about every system in our bodies, and when we pass those foods and drinks, they irritate and inflame dislocate tissues on the way out...for years! Which can totally disturb sexual function...and that's my motivation! I don't care about a shredded body....I care about being fit, happy, healthy and sexual into my 80s. Plus it would be nice to think straight, and minimize hormone replacement.So where to begin? I don't think I can quit sugar or dairy or meat without the minerals the vegan diet provides, but it's such a huge change...that's why I'm thrilled with this video. I'm going to copy a lot of the day's eating. I couldn't tell by the bowl, was that all cooked or was there a salsa on top? What about salt? Seasonings? Do you reccomend starting where you are, or starting gradually? Oh, i just saw there's a follow up video I'll check out.

      @siwuz84 his physique is not average, neither is his athletic ability, or IQ. The average north american cannot do even one pullup, let alone a flag. The average north American is overweight or obese. Look around, not hard to see that.
      And if you think vegans are brainwashed, why are you even watching a vegan video? That's a rhetorical question, btw, I know you're a troll.

    • @NLR759
      @NLR759 5 років тому +13

      @siwuz84 People in Europe are not in much better shape, I have lived there, and they die from the same chronic lifestyle diseases as north Americans (heart disease, stroke, T2 diabetes, cancer). These are diseases of affluence, it has nothing to do with the country you live in. Europeans may have less obesity because their lifestyle is less car-oriented, and they walk more, and eat less fast food, that is all. And no one is saying Dereck is a demi-god. You are exaggerating, jealous maybe? ;) Put your life up on youtube, if you think you're so wonderful, and then you can deal with jerks making dumb comments.

    • @NLR759
      @NLR759 5 років тому +8

      @siwuz84 I don't actually believe you. It's just words. Post a video of yourself on your channel, then we will see the truth for ourselves. But one person does not really prove anything. Large muscles don't mean a person is healthy. Body builders actually have very high rates of death from heart attacks. Statistics show vegans live longer, and have far fewer chronic diseases. Also, a quick search, and I can see the statistics of top causes of mortality all around the world, and Europe is not much different than North America.

      @Elijah Bailey I've wondered this as well but if you calculate the cost of meat for the same protein I think it would come out nearly the same. If you go for more tofu it would come under budget being high in iron, protein, anti-inflammatories etc...
