@@24hourgmtchannel64 exactly why do you think albert biermann left bmw and joined Hyundai/genesis. It feels weird to say this but the genesis G70 drives like the older bmws just with slightly less horsepower. They also still come with a dipstick. The bmws in my area get so marked up that there is no point in buying one. I agree but I will buy a bmw, but my plan is to somehow make a dipstick and provide that information. Yes it requires work, patience and time, BUT, from my personal experiences I think it’s worth it for the driving experience.
Hi. Fred here from Brazil wiht a BMW 325i 2011 with a N52 engine. Any problem if my oil level is in Max level? Recently I noticed that level was around mininum and I completed with 6100 Motul. And then the level is in Max, not above Max. Any problem?
What do I do if it’s leaking oil during the night and you want to check oil level before going to work. But no I can’t because engine is cold… So let’s gamble and put my engine on the line, thanks BMW
2020 230i It’s showing service is ok and oil level low in alert. However when I run oil measurement is above min ,very close to max.all green.I am confused. Looking for a quick response.
All depends on the temp of the engine oil before the BMW will give u a read. Colder climates will take longer than South FL in the summer. imho, is a good idea to warm engines up slowly. 30 min does seem like a long time tho, Most for me is around 15 min, but I keep my car in a temp-controlled garage. (Chuck from Vid)
I have a 12 BMW X5 and always was consuming oil. Now for a while the system reads full engine oil, maybe is reading wrong now? Is there any way that you know how to discover if it's broken?
Absolutely asining to send off in a car that has no hard dipstick, unbelieveable. This is worse than my Subaru's fuel filter living in the fuel tank, so what do you do if you get contaminated gas? I'm gonna regress back to cars of the last century.
No dipstick is over the top arrogance and foolishness on BMW’s part, why reinvent the wheel and make something so simple and straightforward, so ridiculously complicated? I have a 2011 E90 335i and I’ve added nearly 1/2 quart of oil and the oil measuring system hasn’t budged.
Some things don’t need to be improved on. Most new vehicles have oil level sensors, but keep the dip stick. Sensors go bad all the time. This is the stupidest thing I’ve ever seen. “Superior engineering” No bmw for me.
Have a BMW Active Tourer and it's the most fussy, naggy, over-complicated car I have ever owned. False warnings on lights, tyres, everything. The latest thing - no dipstick - is ridiculous. Every time I take it to the garage, the owner just tells me that all the warnings are just another way of BMW getting more money out of people. And the Sat Nav UI is awful. And every time it gets cold it tells me that the emergency response does not work. Well that's handy! Never buying a BMW again.
BMW's elimination of the dipstick is the #1 reason why after 30 years of BMW ownership my next car WILL NOT be a BMW.
Exactly by the time it checks the oil level the engine thats low on oil is already blown

Exactly! Having to drive 4 miles just to check your oil is completely bonkers.

E90 335d has a physical dipstick 09-11 in the US. X5 35d until 2013 IIRC.
Do you check the oil level when the car is on or sat for awhile?
Very good but i was a little more checking out the M beauties you got
Hey. Do you have any news about M3 E46 GTR Strassenversion?
Any other way to check the oil?? No dipstick/ I drive says inactive...
I have a 2016 335i GT

Had one come to my shop that was an 06. The dash was so screwed up it was non legible. How many owers actually check their fluids?

With the dipstick you were able to see exact amount of oil , immediately with no hassles!…..
Hi there, just a quick one, my BMW 320i f30 stops at 17% when trying to check oil level
Mine too🤷🏻♀️

How many quarts of oil does the 3.0 x5 bmw take?
Mine only says "OK" and has no dipstick, what if i want to go on a long trip.

My I drive doesn’t work how do I check it My oil ?
No drain plug for the differential oil is another stupid idea. 118i.
My idrive doesn't work. How do I check it?
Next time, show we owners who have the generation without that computer screen.
We will

My car leaking oil don't know where it coming from
what sucks about this is that I have an oil extractor and its useless on my wifes 430i
Truth. I had one of these a long time ago and used it on an E36M3. Alas, they don't help us on modern BMWs
How Do I Kno When It’s Time For an Oil Change w/o Havin’ a Dipstick To Determine The Dark Color of The Oil….
Please don’t own a bmw

I still have no idea how can electronic measurement be more better/accurate/cheaper than one goddamn piece of tin dived into an oil
It's just as accurate
