I always wondered why you didn’t go into a full on bulk vs doing a lean bulk?

Both approaches, have pros and cons… If I do a very aggressive bulk, I have to do a very aggressive prep to get more of that fat off… plus it could result in more muscle loss which as a Natural Athlete, I can’t afford to do. My improvement season was 2+ years so I need to be able to live in a physique that I felt confident in as well, but was able to still make improvements, strength goals, and muscle gains. This prep has been probably the easiest prep ever because I didn’t have to go to extreme protocols to lose the fat and get stage lean. I hope that makes sense.💙
I’ve done both approaches, and like I said, I just feel like both have pros and cons 💙

Natalie you brought an amazing package to the stage !! You made some serious changes to your physique!! I feel that with all the women’s different divisions have changed especially with the points and how their scoring you ladies!! It has even changed for the men’s as well, so yes the women now are coming in bigger, fuller and looking like their on the Olympia stage. I feel it is genetics or PED’s for a lot of these changes now in women’s divisions, it is not like it used to be before😢 It will be awesome to see you back on stage again at Night of Champions!! Some are not enhanced (minority), some are enhanced. It’s a very normal thing these days in the sport 🤷🏽♀️
I just love to represent natty Bodybuilding on such a big stage. I love a challenge. So honestly, it doesn’t really bother me that some might be. However, having that one natural show gets me really excited😆

Not going to lie.....it used to be a little painful to watch you get so thin when you competed. Always worried about you but not anymore. It seems so much healthier to be eating lots of calories plus you look fantastic. Your hard work really shows from years past. Good luck!
I’m definitely happy that they are awarding a more fuller look. I hope that they continue to do so. The conditioning I used to get to when I first turn pro was very painful to achieve. It did not look cute in person either. Lol. Look cool on stage but not in person.😅

No… I don’t want to give up my IFBB PRO card. I worked really hard for it. If I switch federations, I will lose my pro status with the IFBB. My hopes is that the IFBB BW naturals becomes bigger and bigger each year, and they continue to add shows like that to the pro roster.🙌🏽💖 that would be pretty epic 😜

I think the standards for bikini have changed so much now they want a lot bigger and more muscular than it was even 4 years ago. Like I feel like bikini is what fitness was 4 years ago now. Idk how I feel about that either.

Hi Natalie, I was wondering … when you were told to grow, did that mean grow everywhere like legs, shoulders, booty, or only certain areas? To my untrained eye you look insane. Always! ❤
Mostly booty/upper glute… and shoulders.
Even though it wasn’t the feedback that I was aiming to get… It gets me really excited that I get to train hard AF that’s my favorite thing. I’m not a fan of maintenance workouts which are a lot of isolation movements. Like I’ll do them, but I prefer to train hard and do a lot of compounds.😁

This is the first time I've watched a female body building event. I wonder why you tan your body but not your hands, feet or face. Please explain.
This is a great question… The tan is extreme, because we are going to be under really bright stage lights that will wash us out. If we don’t have tan, you won’t see the muscle definition, and lines. Even people with dark complexions have to get tan as well.
I do tan my hands and feet the morning of show day. I just wait to the end to do it. While I’m doing check-ins the day before, I don’t tan them because they will get a lot darker than the rest of my body since the skin is dryer in the area.
The face doesn’t get tanned because it will get muddy looking and uneven with make up on top. It is the job of the make up artist to make the face two shades lighter than the body so you can get some dimension. They do a really good job at blending it into the neck.
It kinda looks crazy in person, but under the stage lights everything just flows. I hope this makes sense. 😁
