When I was a news reporter in Athens GA, I met JV after a show one night, and he asked me for directions to the highway. I must have spent a good twenty minutes trying to tell him and his old lady (who had big hooters and not much wit) how to take a single road from the arena straight to the highway. He finally just said, "Ahhh, we'll find it." And off they went. I guess they finally made it.
Awesome. Now this is the kind of wrestling that looks more real than most of the stuff I see today. That's because the old pros always do it better. Hail old school wrestling.
I was about 5 or 6 years old and they came through Richmond, Ky which is south of Lexington and watching them all come in. The Macho Man ended up partying with my best friends older brother. Over 20 years ago and I can still remember it.
Not exactly. He debuted in the Carolinas in 1980 and within a year or so began the gimmick he's best known for. His history in Memphis not only went farther back, his gimmick was different. He couldn't do the same schtick in both places and still have credibility with the Memphis fans.
@lazybone22 I remember Jerry Lawler saying once that the floor in the studio was very well polished, so they used to slip over on it a lot when Brawls broke out in the studio, maybe that's the case here...
The comedy slips made it even better 😂

So glad I grew up with a huge satellite and watched up the 80’s wrestling such as Memphis and Mid South plus AWA and Mid Atlantic and finally WWF
Handsome Jimmy must have gotten epilepsy later in his career , no convulsions here .

Man you know those guys had a great time doing that!
Poor Jimmy Hart, he falls 3-4 times in the slippery egg on the floor.
Man that was great! I miss the territory days and I hate everything about the WWF and Vince. Great workers and Vince turned them all into clowns.
bawl and skwall climb the wall old time jubilee blood gonna flow like wine
Never mess with Lance's Baxter suit!
+Alex Batey He had a death in the family today, one of his Baxter suits died.
Jimmy Valiant went way too far with both Lance Russell and Jimmy Hart. He paid for it, though. Big-Time!!!
Great bit... Bundy trying to keep from laughing at 5:00.
Love Handsome Jimmy and I love Lance too!
Great times - great classic days when it WAS professional WRESTLING (a.k.a. "Wrasslin")! My, how far down we've come. :(
This is so entertaining. Memphis was king!

@amishashaman According to Wikipedia, the final event there was a concert by Trans Siberian Orchestra in late 2006.
and I thought the ultimate warrior's promos were insane...
At the end...Rick Rude? Macho Man?
now jimmy!!!
did they grease the floor.. cause they are slipping and sliding away at the end
I saw Lancer in Southaven, MS this past year.
He looks good
Like I said, the old pro did it better.
Lance Russell got pranked! (lol)
Pile up at 5:13
Worked shoot?
