It’s insane, though I did originally use the t-gram word in the original comment and it blocked it, so maybe they’re trying. Just an annoyance and don’t want to see them get any of you!
@@scraplifegarage the thing that pisses me off is people just want be entertaint by you guys and i personaly worked on damage cars (sadly not salvage) but its always fun to unpuzzel a wreck 1 you can save or not or just salvage theres always something of value left.
As a Canadian who sees rusty cars all the time, I can tell you this car was actually not that horrible, it obviously had a few bad areas, but honestly, I would be willing to bet whoever owned it was simply using it as a every day car especially in the winter in a location that sees road salt, would've been very repairable before the crash, and the crash in general, you can see how the car crumpled up like it was supposed to, had it been extremely rusty it would've just mushed and the back seats would've been under the hood.
As a Canadian who has seen a few EVOs and just regular lancers, I can tell you the rust seems about right. That entire chassis is just built to rot. Front crossmembers rusting out are pretty common.
Considering ive owned a 9 for 11 years only places i see that develop rust easy is the black metal piece in the front bumper just below the upper grill
From the placement of the hit and looks like where the bumper was look like a GMC OBS '88-98 its still hard to tell from the video but truck or van from the front grill emblem
That badge is from a 2015 to 2019 GMC 2500 or 3500 and it is a lower trim package because the upper trim packages have black around the red lettering instead of chrome🤷🏼♂️ I’m going to guess it was a work truck or company truck of some sort
hey I repaired my hood and the hinges looked bent I put new hinges hood hook is sitting an inch to the right of the hood latch. The chasis appears to not be bent but the front crash bar is slightly shifted (looking from the bolts quarter inch to the left.) Its really not bad at all. IDK why the hood wont align properly. When I got the car the hood latched easily but it sat almost an inch to the left (gaps) any ideas? the car was hit from the left front side, cracked bumper and hood took most damage.
On speaking about classic significant Mitsubishi and you didn't even mention the Eclipse, Galant, along with the 3000 GT and Evo. Honestly a clean white manual transmission 95-99 Eclipse GSX hard top in white with black interior making 550-700awhp and/or a hard top with no sunroof, manual Evo VIII or Evo IX in grey, blue, or white with CNC head, cams, turbo manifold, turbo, FMIC, downpipe, exhaust, built transfer case and transmission in both, flywheel and clutch, full rebuilt and upgraded brakes and suspension, lightweight 18x9.5 or 10" wheels and 265 or 275 tires. Either one making in the 550-700whp on E85 with suspension, brakes, body, wheels, weight pulled, and some interior upgrades would make for an extremely fast, comfortable, and awesome street/strip coupe or sedan to haul a 2 kids and wife in the Evo then strip the ESX down more and have a more purpose built coupe that's more strip but a little street. Both should easily run 9s depending on the traction and driver's testicular fortitude aka the driver not being a female reproductive gland and leaving on the 2 step ans side stepping the clutch on a prepped surface and super sticky tires. I can't wait to see Legit Street Cars finish the GSX he bought, because the 4G63 is a badass motor.
Why did you throw the RECARO seat on the floor like that? Those seats are some of the BEST seats (I bought these for my WRX STI back in the days) and should fetch good money.
This was my dream vehicle (evo 7) back in the day. When these first came to the states, these ended up being the most expensive vehicle to insure (state farm) because too many kids were wrapping them around telephone poles.
Looking at the rust, it looks like it spent a year in MI. Maybe a build? Find two or three vehicles of the same type and take parts from all three and make one good one? Parts is parts! Cheers!
What would you expect from a JDM, salt roads are prevalent in Japan, particularly in the north. Furthermore the bodies are not galvanised so they're designed and located in a rust belt.
Don’t know if you will see this. Trying to find a pair of really nice headlights for a c6 black convertible? Looked everywhere I know if you can help with anything would appreciate it. thank you
Poor evo RIP always breaks my heart to see iconic cars die. hopefully you guys can salvage most of it for ather ones stil on the road. Gone watch i need some distractions my older brother =/ in hospital thanks for the content.
Of course! Lee needed a way out of this mess, so the clipboard took control of the situation and put Lee out of his misery! ;-P Lee your getting soft bud!! Get well soon...hopefully ;-)
The car was destroyed even before the accident by the conversion itself. 90% widebody builds ends with ruined car and widebody without undercarriage = rust wherever water gets and remains.
It really cool with you guys. Do some may be Infiniti Q 60’s or Q 50s the newer ones that have the twin turbo engines in it or maybe some kind of truck or something you never know.
I have owned a 1993 3000GT VR-4 and two EVO 9’s one 06 MR and I currently own a 06 SSL. I do miss my VR-4, it was way ahead of its time in my opinion. The features on the VR-4 were amazing with the active aero and all wheel steering but she was a big girl. The EVO is a more iconic car thanks to Fast and Furious but i prefer my EVO honestly of the two because the overall comfort and four doors.
Im a owner of a evo, and have to say the chassis of evos do not do well in north eastern/western states. Any other place they are okay. Also the lancer chassis scored a very poor rating in crash testing so not even a 2500 did that damage IMO. Get well bc i too would be sick.
When you are rear ended like this are you entitled to compensation or they just cash you out on the KBB value. Because I would be devastated and getting 15 k for a Corolla would not make me straight.
Holy crap that Evo got destroyed! Also "I hate Nissan Jukes!" Haha I hope they at least got a nice few joy rides out of it before it got smashed. Hope Lee feels better soon!
What's sad about this EVO it must have been a Stellar looking car and with the suspension Parts on there an Blast tae drive, That engine is gurantee not Stock. This one also seems tae be at least a 6 months yard visit after the crash. The rust Saddly is a Standard on mid 2000's cars and is even worse on 2010's upwards, no Protection anymore what so ever, but that must have been a North East Flood car. and the clear spots on the cylinder walls are a sign that this thing had Higher boost, because on compression the piston leans tae the opposite side where the Connecting rod is located on the cranck shaft what makes the piston press harder against the block and causes wear, this is normaly seen on stock, high mile engines.
What hit that poor Evo was your classic 06 GMC duramax with the best engine built the amazing LBZ 👏 👌. That's my answer!!!!!!! 🙃 even though I'm crying inside because I've always wanted an Evo, poor poor Evo. 😢
I am think it was in a freeway pile up. You know when cars still doing 50 in slick winter ❄️ weather then one car hits another causing following the cars behind can’t stop in time to crash going 50 mph pile up. Scary thing to see. I have never been in one before. But all those phone videos of people side road watching more cars coming still soon 50 locking their brakes trying to stop smashing into the rears of all them stopped cars.
I'm no gm truck guy but looks like the emblem off the center grill of a 2500 or 3500. At least you can laugh about it, I've been on the wrong side of parts vehicles too, but no write offs for me.

it wasn’t bad rust at all but it wouldn’t be long before it really did rust out
As a Canadian who has seen a few EVOs and just regular lancers, I can tell you the rust seems about right. That entire chassis is just built to rot. Front crossmembers rusting out are pretty common.
Are you kidding me??? Now not only are those cars over priced as hell over here but now they will probably rot out after a few years!
@@mitchweber7868 I live in the land of snow and salt. Everything rusts away eventually. But ya there’s some bad spot on these chassis.

Hope you feel better soon Lee. Love the videos keep em coming.
This is genuinely the best auto channel on you tube right now.
That Evo looks like my car in GTA before I head to Los Santos Customs
"what's wrong with her now!!"
My guess on the GMC is the 2nd gen Yukon. More specifically a burgundy one with fading paint and 250k miles on the 2nd set of tires
A GMC Sierra 1500 hit it for sure. Love the videos keep up the great work.
I hope that POS GMC got wrecked too.
From the placement of the hit and looks like where the bumper was look like a GMC OBS '88-98 its still hard to tell from the video but truck or van from the front grill emblem
By the size alone of that GMC logo, probably a GMC Yukon XL.😂
That was my guess exactly 😂

It was a GMC single wheel one ton with a back rack , it’s seafoam green with classic cab corner blowouts and an absent rocker!
4 door 95 GMC Yukon smacked that Evo. Definitely.

They were 7 taillights. But not oem ones. They were knock offs. You can tell because oem ones are red even on the back side.
Why not take coilovers at least the front ones and the brake caliosers also they couldnt get damaged ant they worth atleast some money
going with a yukon thats lifted prob ran all over that evo?
