My Virgin Kitchen is a UA-cam cooking channel I created when I wanted to teach myself how to cook and create a video diary of the journey / mrbarrylewis . I have never had a professional lesson & am just your every day chap attempting recipes to inspire you guys to try too. Mrs Barry is great! I love how natural she is, even when she is a bit unsure of herself, she just comes out cute. Also, Barry messing around was the best.

You're just real, trying to teach people about cooking and having fun with it and I think that is what a lot of people want. I love you, Barry, because you are real and funny and talented. I love you, Becky because you are also real and silly and a warm and calming person. I used to have "kitchen-phobia" before I discovered your channel. I had been brainwashed by Gordon Ramsay and an upbringing where most of our food was cooked by other people, so I was scared of the kitchen because I didn't know what to do in there except make coffee, MAYBE boil an egg. And now I myself am cooking and having lots of fun with it, and it's all thanks to you guys :) Thank you so much.

Nice job Mrs. Barry, cake looked delicious. In the spirit of shared learning, may I pass on 2 reasons to consider leveling your cake layers (i.e., cutting off the rounded tops) before assembling and icing the whole thing:
1) Mr. Barry's attention will be focused on eating the cake tops rather than teasing you while you are icing the cake ;-)
2) improves presentation

It's supposed to be easy. Cutting off a layer tends to crumble and it isn't necessary

I made this cake for my best friend's birthday last night. I had to convert the measuring untis because I'm from Indiana, USA but it was very worth it. Absolutely delicious and I normally don't like cake! I'm a huge fan and binge watch every night while I fall asleep:) Barry I love you and your family!

I'd love to see you both do the most difficult recipe you've ever conquered. Mine was a chocolate cake that only had 4 tablespoons of flour in it & took almost 5 hours to make. I threw the recipe away afterwards but it was amazing!

When making buttercream, you should try adding mascarpone in the mixture. It makes it less sweet and gets rid of that buttery taste. Definitely recommend it!

I have a tip for the cakes in future, level the tops off the cakes. Then you can eat the shavings while you're making the frosting and not only does it look better but the frosting will go on much easier and more level

Hay Barry and Mrs.Barry, love you guys and all your stuff. I just have a quick tip for helping you when posting baking stuff. i think its best to tell the viewer a volume measurement as not everyone has a kitchen scale to measure by weight. obviously this causes the problem of 1 cup of flour actually being a different amount of flour by weight every time you measure it but this is easily solved by having the would be cook to sift the flour and pour it into the measuring cup rather than scoop it.

can you and mrs barry do a mini bake off series? i though seeing as its started and mrs barry has only been in a few videos of her own, that it was would be a great intoduction to her becoming a host on the channel! do similiar sorts of challenges on the show, it sould be epic, the winner of the series has a segment on the channel called 'bake off bites' haha
All I can say is nom nom nom. Best part of mums baking is always getting the bowl and spoon yummy :) Btw I like the sound of Mrs Barries Bakery for your shop name ;)

You should try cracking your eggs off a flat surface rather than the bowl, then just pull the shell apart, leaves practically no tiny egg shells behind (it's a bit tricky so practice makes perfect.... Other wise you'll just be smashing eggs off your kitchen counter hahahah) great video btw that cake looks lethal 😍😍😍
