As the owner of one I can tell you we are a dying breed and need all of yall's support! Id support a local shop every time over a big name brand store, But don't have anything within miles of my home in south east MO. I get it that we dont have a ton of lakes here to fish but lots of us go to the ozarks and fish tournaments in boats and kayaks. I have wanted to open a shop but have no clue how or if it would even survive.
No mom and pop places in my area anymore, wal-mart took care of that.

This is a mom and pop store 3 generations. Sloans will always be a staple in vonore.
That place has more inventory the any regular bass pro store. This is why our store has very little, and mostly xps lures.
That's close to maryville tn the deli there is pretty good too

Mr Bill built that store in the mid 90's. Combination of gas , grocery , hardware , plumbing , fast food , fresh meat and produce store in Vonore , Tn.
I live 4miles from Sloan’s. They also have a great hardware section and a deli that serves exceptional lunch and breakfasts. I’m spoiled, but I drive by Sloans everyday and my car tries to pull into their parking lot without me having anything to do with it.

The end is the story of my life I can't drive past a dicks or bass pro without dropping $100 even if I say I only need two little packages of hooks I come out with 5 lures some line some random stuff and no hooks lol oh and it's ice over up here so anything I buy for the next 3 months I can't use so I just stare at it all winter

Worlds first? How long they been going? Lol I'm just curious, because I've got a gas station 30 miles from my house that's a bass pro outlet like this and it's been there for at least 38 years, because my dad started taking me there since I was born. Although I will say, this one has about twice the room ours does. Looks pretty sweet there!

Sad thing is I have read somewhere BPS stopped their Rod and Gun company which supplies Mom and Pop shops with BPS tackle. There is a little store a block from me that has a Bass Pro sign on their building. Sadly I think it's a Desi 1"trap house" than a store.

That's an awesome little shop 🎣 Hotter take than I thought, but if your (whoever is reading this) state has problems with invasive Asian carp, I 1000% recommend you go snagging for some! One hell of a fight, and they gotta go if we want to protect our local ecosystems 🤌🎣 (for rigging, I had luck with searching for spoonbill snagging rigs 🤙)
