See Davy is stepping up to the plate and playing some guitar and a touch of keys. Nice.

I loved the Justus album. I think in making a modern sounding record they may have alienated their fans, which resulted in its failure to chart. Older fans of The Monkees may not have wanted to hear a modern sounding record. And young fans of modern music didn't want to give The Monkees a chance because they were an old band. But as a young fan of The Monkees I really enjoyed it.

This should be an "extra feature" on a DVD Blu-Ray Release of the "Hey Hey We're The Monkees" 1997 special!!!!

I still play this album! This should’ve been the album released during their 1986 revival and not that Pool It! Great mini concert!!

Amazing! I still see Justus as something new. Yet it's 22 years old now.

Man what a gig! They had it better than ever. Sad Nez always been so hot and cold cos even their new songs then were strong. great they avoided the most obvious ones.

Apparently some rule about not allowing bands that were created for TV. A rule that should be broken.

What did you think of it live? Can't tell much from the 90's video and audio here.

I had a blast. was close to the stage on Mike's side. Also in attendance was the late great Keith Emerson. I went up to him during Peter's synth solo and asked for his opinion of it. He just smiled and said nothing. Such a wonderful moment in time.

The Monkees are all so terrific! Davy too , was such a charmer , I'll bet the other 3 Monkees fell in love with him, just like the fans did! ( That was NOT meant romantically...lol ) Just as people , who like someone's personality, is what I meant!

Mike McIntyre I actually love the Justus album I have it on cassette tape and when they first released it was so excited I am am old timer who in 1966 watched their show i believe that mike and peter could play instruments but mickey had to learn the drums and Davy pretty much had a natural talent for tambourine and a sweet singing voice mickey has had more experience with TV due to the fact that he was a child star on the. 1950s show circus boy so he was relaxed before a camera I also believe mike had background in country music peter was intelligent he has teaching degree I was ecstatic when they reunited in the late90s they made me feel so young and they still do. And i am 60 so all I have to say is this Peter Mickey Mike keep rockin and Davy you are in heaven rockin with the Lord and the angels now.🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹🎷🎷📻📻📱📻📻🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵 by the way both the monkees version and Paul revere and the raiders version of stepping stone ROCK although the raiders did lay on a heavier beat but both versions rock

Uh...what...you mean... They are an ACTUAL band, who CAN play their own instruments? WOW! Blows my mind... LOL! (That's for all the haters that said the Monkees weren't a real band. Maybe at first, but by the time they got done...)

Xcorgi Actually, they did their first concert in Hawaii in their first season and they went on tour in 1967 after the first season was over. In fact, they ALL could already play, because one of the requirements for being on the show is you had to be able to play at least one instrument. Mickey could play guitar and had been a front man in many R&B bands before this. Peter could play keys, bass, banjo, and lead guitar. Mike could play bass and power guitar. Davy could play some keys, drums, percussion, bass, and some guitar. In fact, Davy should have been on drums, but they wanted the face out front, and Mickey was volunteered to play drums. That was one he could NOT play, and spent one year studying the instrument before the show aired, if anything, to look authentic, but if they had to play, so he could go on stage. On the Headquarters album, almost every song was what they wrote and played every note. This was done between seasons one and two, and toured with some of those songs.

I thought that all four of them did one concert together in L.A. in 1986 ...

John42ification It was in 1986 at the Greek Theater. Micky, Peter and Davy were told in advance that Mike wanted to perform with them, but it wasn't but a few songs.

As a long life fan ..it is so great to see them together..but Just Us was just Bad...Pool it was a better album ( not by much..and it was missing Mike) But I will take my boys where I can get them.

I have to disagree. Justus was great. it sounded like a collaboration- a band. Which is exactly what it was; The Monkees for real.
Pool It sounds like a synthesizery nightmare.
