@BigMaraIppo He might need to make a deal with DuPont to be able to use their Kevlar trademark in such a manner. But I personally prefer the name he's got rn.
I feel like the seal over the doors should look more like a magical seal - even if all that was added was a pentagram over the planks that disappears after a second.
After having had a go at the playtest, I can happily affirm that you once again have come up with some seriously good shit. Not that there was any doubt. Mechanics are tight, art style is clean, and the writing is bloody hilarious. Also, you should put your name in the title, just to make a Tom Clancy joke.
bright is a low-magic setting, and the way theyve executed that is making the fantasy elements absolutely never come up in any meaningful way. tactical breach wizards dares to be silly and creative with who gets magic and how
Love the rewind mechanic (assuming that is staying in, and isn’t just to make it easier to demo). Also love the bit of them chatting on the tube, I miss the tube
Hey Tom, first of all, the game looks amazing, I can't wait to play it! Second of all, I just wanted to tell you that years ago I started game development on your gamemaker noxp tutorials, and recently I have landed a design job at a game studio. I am super inspired by your work, and thank you for starting me down the path.
Duuuude I commented on your video 2 years ago about the possible ideas for units (mine was firefighter pyromancer) it's great to see all the improvement you've made, keep it up!
It's looking awesome! It's been on my wishlist for quite some time, I hope I can get in the beta. I love all your games and i'm sure i'm going to love this one too, keep up the good work :)
Ever since I watched the first video on this game, I have been interested. I wish you best, and hope this game lives up to not just your expectations, but ours too.
I've never played a game of this genre, and I was skeptical until I saw this video. The rewind feature seems to be a really good way to try things out, making it seem more accessible to me as someone who has never played e.g. Invisible Inc I'm really excited to play it!
I searched for this game like a year ago cause I saw a video at that time and I didn't found it bc I searched in Liked and fav videos... Today I was clearing the channels that I follow and found this channel and the game. I signed for the beta and im happy now
Having played the previous beta I'm super glad they've been waiting to release more. I honestly enjoyed the beta though I felt like it was almost a bit too grounded and not magical (as in that the magic just felt like reskinned guns) but the little hints about the worldbuilding and dialog are crazy exciting and the combos being shown off here (as well as the ability to seal the reinforcement doors) are all very encouraging. Take your time with this one Tom! Can feel the makings of a classic!
I can understand the reason behind the change of Jen’s character design and backstory, but i really hope that the old design, or at least the witch hat with the sillitoe tartan is available as a skin
The screenshake on that lightning effect is unpleasant; it's so wide and slow that my eyes lose their tracking on the scene. Tight and fast would be better imo Definitely looks like a cool game! As a fan of Invisible Inc and Into the Breach, I'm going to keep an eye on this!
looking pretty polished already! Any chance this is coming to Switch? I re-bought invisible inc for it, it's such a great way to play this kind of small-scale tactics game...
See earlier dev videos. There was at least one boss-level treat - an enemy Traffic Mage who can summon three lanes of ghost cars and had a very big healthbar.
So I loved the preview. Any chance this will come to the Switch? *(unlike the previous game this could fairly easy be ported from a control scheme point of veiw.)
5:35 I suposse by that empty slot at the left that there will be more characters, am I right? Any hints on what could an hypotethical 3rd class would be?
So "Breach games" is a genre now... well I can live with that! This looks great. Less restrictive than Into The Breach, which was so rigid in its turn structure that it felt almost claustrophobic to me...
When Tom Francis makes a game, you know someone is going out the window. Someone is always going out the window.
Dude now that I think about it, it's true.
On Steam this game is listed with Gunpoint and Heat Signature as the 'Defenestration Trilogy'; referencing that very fact.
The 'Defenestration Trilogy' absolutely deserves to be the primary way these games are referred to.
if it wasn't for floating point, I'd definitely agree xD
@@Tavor57 Just wait for the prequel where we find out the reason the Point is in free fall to begin with :D
"He is a Navy S.E.E.R."
Welp, I'm sold.
"Wizards in kevlar" is a pretty rad ragline
ngl, that phrase straight up sold me
Also "casters in kevlar" if you want to go for the rhyme
@BigMaraIppo He might need to make a deal with DuPont to be able to use their Kevlar trademark in such a manner. But I personally prefer the name he's got rn.
I feel like the seal over the doors should look more like a magical seal - even if all that was added was a pentagram over the planks that disappears after a second.
Too excited for this next entry in the Defenestration Saga

I whole-heartedly concur
I swear Tom Francis is one of the best indie developers gaming has been graced with
"Zan's in a bit of trouble" seems to be coming up a lot over the course of this video...
I feel very excited for this! "Tactical Breach Wizards" sounds like the perfect name for a Shadowrun team.
Just now realizing you've kinda made "what if the Netflix movie Bright, but it's a game and also GOOD."

He said early on that the rewind mechanic would be a feature, because it was something he wished he could do in some similar tactics games.

So cool, Tom!
Awesome to see this game really coming together.
Great choices and tactics in there. Nice! :)
Duuuude I commented on your video 2 years ago about the possible ideas for units (mine was firefighter pyromancer) it's great to see all the improvement you've made, keep it up!
So stoked for this and have been ever since you first mentioned the concept!
It's looking awesome! It's been on my wishlist for quite some time, I hope I can get in the beta.
I love all your games and i'm sure i'm going to love this one too, keep up the good work :)
This has been in my wishlist since the Before Times. Progress looks great.
Ever since I watched the first video on this game, I have been interested. I wish you best, and hope this game lives up to not just your expectations, but ours too.

damn, doorkickers 3 got wild
Hell, yeah. I have been waiting for this
Those transitions are so simple and so good!
Been following this project for so long, every time I see an update I get exctatic!
Tom you such a great guy :) Watching you with your creations fills my mana bar.
Looks great, been patiently waiting for this for a long time. Very much looking forward to the beta!
I am really excited for this game! I found one of your vids about it like a year ago and have had it on my wishlist ever since
Looks awesome. Navy Seer is also fantastic.
I searched for this game like a year ago cause I saw a video at that time and I didn't found it bc I searched in Liked and fav videos... Today I was clearing the channels that I follow and found this channel and the game. I signed for the beta and im happy now
Love it from the concept art stage. Hopefully we can see the sniper staff soon :))
This art style is so clean, love it!
I've been waiting for this for a while I'm really excited

I love it. Nice work. Excited to play.
Hell yeahhhh, im so much in love with that concept gotta get this beta
Been fan of your work since you started working on Gunpoint. This is awesome.
Can't wait for this game. 🙌
Really enjoyed the first beta, can't wait for the game :)
Okay you had me with the concept and art style, but the gameplay has me itching to play this!
looks great
This looks tremendously fun
I was just thinking about this game; I still have the last early access build downloaded on Steam. Very hype!
hope this game comes out soon, been watching it for awhile. Heat Signature had such an awesome soundtrack, hope they get the same musician
Been waiting so long for this! :D
this looks amazing.
Really really like the changes to reinforcement doors, I played an earlier test and this looks better. The game looks fantastic, great job as usual
This is awesome. Added to wishlist. I LOVE the idea of "if we really had magic, we'd have magical swat teams"
I just hear that you make this game
OMG nicely done!!!!!
Love everything about it.
I'm so excited for this game. 🤞 for beta access
My new fashion icon is whoever that medic looking character is
This looks so nice
Navy seer bahaha your writing is always so charming
Reminds me of Into The Breach! Super excited for this game
Idk how but I predicted that a new trailer of this game would come soon
I was sold on "Navy Seer."
Great job, Tom! Looking forward to getting it on Linux.
YES ITS TIME TO HYPE
Reminds me of Klei's Invisible inc. Good times.
Oh hell yeah! Finally!
Psyched for this game. I love magical spec ops.
This look great!
This looks awesome!
Awesome!
I'm so excited!!
I can understand the reason behind the change of Jen’s character design and backstory, but i really hope that the old design, or at least the witch hat with the sillitoe tartan is available as a skin
Can't wait!
Lovely aesthetics
Hell yes.
Very cool
Hopefully I'll get picked, but regardless I'm looking forward to more gameplay.
I can't watch this because I want no spoilers etc. But god damned I can't wait.
Dalek voice: DEFENESTRATE!
Man this is great 👍
This looks so fucking good dude
Love IT!
o foc, u got me hyped
Some of those that work forces,
Are the same that cast hexes
shut up and take my money!
This wizard SWAT team definitely looks and feels badass, especially in action! Kinda OP, but very, very badass!
The screenshake on that lightning effect is unpleasant; it's so wide and slow that my eyes lose their tracking on the scene. Tight and fast would be better imo
Definitely looks like a cool game! As a fan of Invisible Inc and Into the Breach, I'm going to keep an eye on this!
Interesting...
navy seer sold me on the game
You gotta defenestrate to accumulate.
LET'S FUCKING GOOOOO
looking pretty polished already! Any chance this is coming to Switch? I re-bought invisible inc for it, it's such a great way to play this kind of small-scale tactics game...
This is really cool, I love it!
Out of curiousity, why did you make taking cover a separate action?
I'm curious if the enemies will ever be magical? That would make the end game pretty bonkers!
See earlier dev videos. There was at least one boss-level treat - an enemy Traffic Mage who can summon three lanes of ghost cars and had a very big healthbar.
@@detrimidexta Sounds awesome. Thx
Now throwing people out of windows in 3D!
So I loved the preview.
Any chance this will come to the Switch? *(unlike the previous game this could fairly easy be ported from a control scheme point of veiw.)
"Navy Seer" lol
nice video game, tom. looking forward to throwing people out of windows in this one.
5:35
I suposse by that empty slot at the left that there will be more characters, am I right?
Any hints on what could an hypotethical 3rd class would be?
All windows must perish!
Any progress? Any release date yet?
Are you making this game yourself or did you get a contract with big companies?
Also: I had no idea anyone pronounced beta "Bee-ta", interesting
Most of the British pronounce it this way. Just like 'route' and network device 'router' are (root-er), with the woodwork tool 'router' (r-out-er).
This looks really promising and interesting. Is this the only project you're working on, or are you working on several projects in parallel?
I wanna cosplay as one of these...
pog
