I just love the content, really appreciate the help.
Great job on the video short but very informative. Most of all love the look and love the truck.
Thanks ! Let me know if you have any questions
Same here bro. Took like 4 hrs on one side too. Maybe an hour on other.. trial and error. Looks solid👊🏽👊🏽
Nice I have 4 door 2005 2500 hd with 17” and 35 s I like the way they look nice truck
Nice setup
The glizzy is a must
Clean ass truck bud.
Thanks !
I have an 01 chevy 1500 z71 with a 6 inch suspension lift running 22x14s on 33x13.50x22 nitto trail grippler. Its mean as hell from the front. With a 1.5 inch body lift all the way around. Has a 2" drop in the back due to having to pull a trailer for my buisness. All around RC is the best but also very difficult when it comes to installation. Most importantly i didnt have to touch my torsion bars so its a very clean look and super easy ride.
Agreed . Like most things sometimes people pay double for a name
Mines being installed as im typing im excited
Go get some chassis paint will look great
@@urbanbluecollar7813 i will have to their is alot i want to do after.
I bought a 2wd Tahoe and everyone wanted me to drop it personally I don’t want to drop it I mean it looks good and all. I personally wanted lifted
Lift is always better to me
I put the rc 6 inch on my 06 cat eye. Now it pulls to the right super hard
Did you get an alignment after ?
Might be your lower control arm if they tightened up everything up while lifted on jack stands. Mine was the lower control arm causing mine to pull
I’m about to install the same lift on my 07 cateye. Is there any way you could show me a picture or something of where you rerouted the brake lines to?
Praise Jesus. GREAT INFORMATIVE VIDEO
I like how it looks, the level and the lift of it. Im curious on how the shocks rides?
It rides more rough than stock . But only when u hit potholes and stuff . When driving on pavement it feels stock
I heard that spindle is only 3 inches and the coil spring it’s supposed to add the inch or so. Hell I even heard that spring isn’t much different than the stock spring.
Both the spindle and spring lift the front end about 4.5” . The rear lifting block is 3” . So overall the truck went up 3” . The front end is lower than the rear do to the factory “rake “ .
‘I still fit at the drive through at Weiner shnithzle’
It’s very important 😂
Looks really good. How did you reroute the brake lines?
The brackets normally mount on top of the spindle, but your gonna have to move them to the inside of the spindle next to the dust cover for the hub . Use wd40 to help slide those brackets down the line . And then ur gonna have to check at a full turn both ways that it’s not being tugged on .
I’m doing the same thing. But instead of the 1.5 coil they give you, I bought my own 2 inch coil from maxtrac.
Might be little harder to compress ! If your worried about it being leveled go with shorter blocks in the back should be cheaper , easier and safer
@@urbanbluecollar7813 did you have to get new ucas?
@@MichaelJohnScreen ucas?
@@urbanbluecollar7813 upper control arms? I put the lift on my truck. It looks great. Buttttt, I bought aftermarket upper control arms, and the fucking ball joint sheared on me.
@@MichaelJohnScreen sorry to hear that man . Yeah I put new upper and lower control arms the Brand i used was NAPA
How’s your gas mileage with the 33’s bro do you notice a big difference ?
Is the rough ride due to the a-arms hitting the bump stops? I want to get this kit with bilstein shocks and better upper control arms and wondering if that would help the ride quality
Mines is particularly rigid due to my tire choice and the suspension kit is more stiff . But yeah I don’t think that would be a bad idea going with bilstien
Hey man how’d you reroute your brake lines?
Are you running rear wheel spacers by any chance. Just ordered my kit and curious about the front wheels being “kicked out” farther than the rear
I don’t have any but it’s seems the rear would need 1/2 inch or 1/4 inch spacers to be even
Did the lift level the truck for you or did you have to put a leveling kit in the front to get the truck level?
@@graysonsgeorgiaoutdoors9454 this kit levels and lift the truck at the same time
How is towing?
Did you have to change anything with the upper control arm and ball joint
U can do stock parts . But I recommend brand new upper ball joint a control arm which was like $160’ each side . Easier install so u don’t have to rent ball joint press .
Does it ride pretty close to stock?
The truck sits level with just the lift right? So I wouldn’t have to run a level kit with the lift? Just asking because I don’t want the back taller then the front still.
It is not perfectly level in my opinion. I’d say back is 1/2” taller then front
Do you have spacers on and has the lift made any defects in the truck like having to replace parts?
No spacers. And the lift hasn’t caused any damage to anything
Bout to do the same lift I got a question did your lower control arms break when you took it apart?
Nothing should break bro . But i did end up replacing control arms upper and lower because it looks clean and was easy to get too
Need help on what do i need to do or what size mud tires I can get with stock 6 lugs 16" rims I don't want to cut the fender on the front of my 04 single 2wd silverado any help would be helpful for this 55 year old man 😕
I would match what’s existing on the truck and just replace with something with more aggressive tread. Anytime u go bigger or wider u run a risk of have to cut fenders
Isn’t the spindle the same one in the 3 inch lift kit its the spring that raises the front
The spindle and spring both lift the trucks front end . But primarily the spindle
I'm wanting to put a 3 inch lift on my 2002 silverado but it says it only fits a 2wd what I'd my truck switches in and out of 2wd and 4wd will it still fit my truck?
It won’t fit your truck . because 4wd has slightly different suspension like torsion bars and you also have cv axles . For your model sometimes they sell new torsion keys for a higher lift .
Have you had to replace your shocks yet? I’m wanting to switch shocks just can’t find any for the lift height
I have the same truck with same lift kit
i’m thinking about buying this kit for my 2002 single cab 1500 would you recommend it even now 2 months later?
I would do it if u don’t mind a stiff ride and some power loss . I have no regrets . Consider running different gears if u go to a bigger wheel size do get some of the power back after lift
Just got this lift installed, currently on 285’s on stock 16’s…looking at getting similar wheel and tire size setup, do you have spacers at all? Thanks…how’s the lift holding up?
No spacers for me . Lift holding great . Be advised for wheel bearing hubs wear and tear . Wears a lot faster especially older trucks high mileage
How much did you pay to have this kit installed?
@@jacobf.4884 $500 labor to install. No shop should charge more than about $600, I have two local truck shops that specialize in lifting kits and that was their price
I have 20s on mine and damm 17s looks so much better !!
Yeah bro and sometimes the larger tire helps with the suspension too
@@urbanbluecollar7813 yeah I’m definitely getting some 17s. Post more videos on the truck !
Does the lift push the front wheels out farther to where you need to buy spacers for the read
*rear
The front does stick out a little more then the rear but only by 1/4” or 1/2 “ . But I don’t think it needs any spacers
Would you recommend this lift or do u wish you had spent a little more for a better one?
It’s perfect for me because u use all factory parts for future wear and tear . Plus if your like me if u go any higher it makes it worse for loading and unloading . Plus my truck stays with in city limits so it still fits in most parking garages
You think with the 4.5 inch lift on my 2005 2WD 1500 silverado that I'll rub pretty bad with 35 inch tires? 35x12.50r17
Yeah bro it’ll rub pretty bad . Also depending on your offset it can rub more or less . Check out the custom offsets website and look in the gallery to see what other guys have done to see what works for you
You got any social media I’d like to see more of it
Mine came with 3in rear blocks so wouldn't that mean the back was only raised 2"? I have same kit just for a 03 cateye
So the spindle in the front raises only the front by 4.5 inches because when the truck is stock it’s 1.5” lower in front . So the 3” blocks in back did raise the rear 3”
Gotchu. Installed mine a week ago and mine is 4" in front and 3" in back. My truck was always level so that's prolly why
Pass the link brother
Hey boss i did a 6 inch lift if rough country on my 02 sierra but the back looks higher than the front any recommendations
I’d check into a different size lifting block for the rear . But they make it like that so if you have a load in the back it becomes level
Anthony you need to either put bigger torsion keys underneath or buy a 1.5 inch body lift for the front. I prefer the torsion keys because you can adjust them at anytime but the body blocks for the front you cant at all.
hey man, i'm planning on doing this myself. Other than a coil spring press is there anything else i'll need? its the same 4.5 lift. is there a way to get the ball joints out without a ball joint tool?
thanks!
U don’t need a coil spring press , u can compress the spring with a floor jack . For the ball joints u need a press . It was easier to just get new control arms upper and lower ball joints already in them . Other wise u will have to drill out the rivets on lower ball joint . Also u might as well spray paint the frame and parts while everything is apart it looks way better painted with some semi gloss
@@urbanbluecollar7813 Hey man, just installed the front part of the lift and my tires have a very noticeable negative camber when pulling forward, but then they go back to normal when I back up? Do you have any ideas? It's really bad. So bad that I don't even want to drive it to the shop to get it aligned until I at least get the issue figured out. Did you have this issue? Any input would be greatly appreciated.
@@TheOlderlander sorry for late reply bro . But yeah you should have negative camber. U will need to get it aligned . Just beware cause a lot of shops won’t align lifted vehicles so call around first
Whether your going forward or backwards you’ll will still need an alignment . Should cost $70-$155
Also if you have triple AAA have them tow it to a shop . If not you can drive it slow with hazard lights on to near by shop but call first to see if they will align it
Could you run 33's on the stock wheels without rubbing?
It’s gonna rub at that size so
You will have to trim . Also it depends on the offset of the rim .
How did you reroute the brake lines?
I routed mine on top of the upper control arm . Your gonna need a lot of lube to move the brackets down the line . Most likely will tear the existing line be prepared to buy new . Have zip ties handy .
I have a 2002 Gmc 1500 i put a leveling kit on can i fit 35s on ?????
With spacers
Maybe with a lot of cutting and plus it depends on the offset of the rim . Check out custom offsets website and go to their gallery to see if anyone else has tried it
Im going the same route with tire but not sure if I should get a use RC 6" lift kit .. 650$ will that be better for the tire space ? And what gears should i get?
@@JuanAlvarez-so2gn 6” is better for more tire clearance . Gear size depends on tire size they have formulas on UA-cam to find out what’s best .
Did you need a spring compressing tool of any sort?
No , you just need a good floor jack , you will compress the spring with the jack by going under the lower control arm from the opposite side . Feels kinda sketchy but u can tie it off to the chassis so that if it goes flying it won’t go far
@@urbanbluecollar7813 thank you I appreciate the response and advise
@@justjv562 hmu if you got anymore questions
You think it would fit stock rims and 35s?
Would rub like crazy . Would have to trim a whole lot
What size spindles come with the kit?!
4.5 “
If I put just a 3inch spindle lift will it be that high Too or no ?
No bro it will be a 1-1/2” shorter
And if I do a maxx trac spring ? Will it get up to yours ?
@@christopherhernandez9115 not sure brother
Did have any problems with alignment on yours
I didn’t have any problems . But I know most shops won’t align lifted vehicles . Plus with the upper control arm being stock it made it simple
Your so right about most shops won't do an align on lifted trucks a made an appointment after having a RC 4.5 lift kit installed they asked did I have a lift kit installed I'm like I just put new shocks and coil springs on it 😂 & got it done with in a hour or less but if I had said yes I put a lift kit on it they would have backed away from it 🤣
You didn't have to cut anything correct?
I just trimmed the bumper and a little of the wheel liner . I didn’t need a nor cal tuck
Hey man how is the drive on-road compared to stock
Thinking of getting this for my 2017 Silverado 1500 on 22x13 on 33s to clear most of the rub it’s only leveled rn
I mean it’s pretty rough compared to stock . Some companies make higher quality lifts some with adjustable shocks . Also I would check out custom offsets website and view the gallery to see if you would like the look of the truck with this kind of lift .
@@urbanbluecollar7813 Just wondering what psi do you run on your tires?
@@hitmanshadowrecon9017 u can do the chalk test to figure it out . But I’d say around 35psi
Stock drive shaft?
@@KEMC4765 yes sir
What's the shocks up front part number
Link is in description they are called the n3 . But they also have adjustable style
Ok thanks
Did you have any vibration after the install??
I didn’t . Is that what happen to yours ?
Yea I think the guy installed my rear block backwards. I’m taking it to shop to see if Turing the blocks fix the vibration.
@@javenbrown5428 best of luck bro
I dont like lift blocks, rather do a combo of body and suspension lift
A lot of suspension lifts have blocks usually for the rear axle . Body lifts are cool but a lot of tedious extension lines are needed for most models
does it level the truck
It almost does . Front probably lower by 1/4 - 1/2 inch
@@urbanbluecollar7813 how many inch is the coils n spindles
@@knightrider6.267 about 4 inches even over time the front end “will settle “ and lose another 1/4 inch with compression over time
