Actually most of the guitar paris and also a lot of the vocals are overdubbed in the studio 😉if you see the whole video you can hear Johnny singing when he isn't even close to the mic. Same for the guitarplaying.
He was originally both the singer and lead guitarist- listen to the 1971 Actress demos before Sylvain Sylvain Mizrahi and David Johansen joined- but decided he wanted to focus on guitar
I'm guessing the audio is from the album and has been edited or had the vocals overdubbed later, which is why some of the video is spot on and some you're thinking "Who's singing that bit?". I might be wrong though.
Jonnys singing without a microphone, he must have had a 119db vocal chord? Is this the Lyceum ballroom show cos if it is he also did a solo acoustic "Interlude" so the band could rest..ahh...specially Jerry on drums who beat those drums for nearl 2hrs non stop, they were pals so it was give and take. Better than 2 angelic Brothers, nearly always together.
this is the best i’ve ever head jonnys guitar sound those amps are booming when he first hits it at the beginning that in insane .
Agreed - Walter Lure might as well not have played on this one

I was JUST gonna say that.
I roadied for a band that opened for him in Vancouver & sadly he was TERRIBLE

Saw him dozens of times at maxs and cbgb in 70s i was 21-23 Stoned and they were it,,,insane time to be young
Must have been a great time to be into music, and in the right place….👍🏴🎸🇺🇸
First time I'm see this. Man, Johnny was so ON! His playing is wicked good and the vocals ain't so bad either!
Great version. Nice to see Johnny not impaired and hitting it hard like this.
Those guitars sound fabulous.
One of the top 10 songs ever recorded.
In mho.🤙🏼

この動画ずっと前から見てるけど白ジャケットに似たようなシルエットのジャケットどこかで売ってないかいつも気にしてる
泥酔してて日本語書けないけど一生モンの服として太めの白ジャケット欲しいのよ
Hope you found it buddy, get it embroided!
I was told he was gonna be the dolls singer but somehow they went with David Johansen maybe because he was like Mick jagger
jonny is such a better singer than johansson in my opinion .
@@jacobshred67 yes definitely I was always a fan of thunders singing even in dolls he had chatterbox and can't put your arms around a memory

Quand est-ce qu´on arrêtera de voir ces vidéos où la bande son ne correspond pas à l´image !
Marshall heads and cabs sound the best.
But Johnny was playing thru Fenders! Walter was using Marshalls!
Different audio to the video

Pretty sure there’s some overdubs going on here
yep, he's not moving his lips
Dig it
I can do that
The vocals are out of synch!
Playback it's fucking lie
He was fucking great
He was indeed!
Johnny appears to be using a championship wrestling belt as a guitar strap for this gig
