Saw these boys in the 70's and met Jerry a couple of times. Great times. Loved them then and now, but too much junkie business gets you in the end. RIP Walter.
Actually this was one of their worst shows. Most of the guitarplaying and also Johnny's vocals are added/overdubbed in the studio. If you watch the whole show you can hear Johnny singing when he isn't even close to a microphone. Same for a lot of the guitarplaying. And sober? Johnny had 8 double vodkas just before the show. And if you think I don't like Johnny Thunders. Well I love Johnny and his music, I got all his official releases and also hundreds of bootlegs lps/cd's and video's and dvd's. And other hardcore JT fans will also confirm that this isn't exactly a good show. It's more a studioalbum then a real live show.
@@richardleeuwenburg9093You were there?maybe it was overdubbed idw but You counted the drinks he had or had a mole in the dressing room? As far as one of the worst? idk there was some pretty bad ones.
They came back together for a week, after years apart. Not sure if they even rehearsed - generally they were always tight, unless 'relaxed'; so I suspect they had been even tighter before!
I was at this gig, pressed up against the stage a little right of center. Best ever version of “So Alone” comes from this show. If you haven’t seen it, track it down for sure. Edit: tracked it down. “So Alone” starts at 27:00 ua-cam.com/video/m6xDjmh1mVY/v-deo.html
So was everybody in this band using? I know that Thunders and Nolan were. I just discoverd these guys recently. Guess I was living under a rock. Hell of a following.
AFAIK, Lure was not a full-on junkie of Thunders' stature. Some of his songs are mocking H addiction to a certain extent (One Track Mind, Too Much Junkie Business), but he certainly "used". Remember, Waldo worked/works on Wall Street, so he couldn't be a full-time wastoid. Nolan, yes, not sure about Rath.
Not even in the same league as thunders, this guy was the real deal,Jones was just a scallywag/ panhead dressed by McLaren, still is a panhead.l saw thunders twice back in the day ,nobody even came close to how cool this guy was/looked, nobody certainly not someone like Jones.

Lesson for everyone: when you’ve got stuff for 2:40 (music and lyrics), don’t stretch if for 5:30!
They were ON here! thank you!
This was one of their real good shows where nobody's brio fucked up and everything was tight despite not playing together regularly for over 5 years.

Lucky audience!!!
Fucking Johnny rockin it out
I really don’t understand all the comments here about heroin. Take the “in” off and you have what Johnny was to every alt rocker who came afterwards.
Lmao
WTF are you rambling on about?
