Something I don't see mentioned much about fatalism: you can look at the rings under the planets. The ones that will go first have fast spinning rings while the others are slower. That was the one thing I couldn't get down consistently until I learned this.
Did this one blind today with 5 people totally new to the fight with one person guiding us through it, and we cleared it, it was insane! I'm here because the one thing I could't wrap my head around is Theological fatalism, and I can't say I fully understand now, but I think I'm getting there. Thanks for another stellar guide Mizzteq!
The closest servers to my country are Japanese Data Centers even if I dont speak Japanese, so one time I was in a Party for Endsinger's Aria and after it ended I just said in the chat "Planets hard" (mainly the double Fatalis) and the replies I got were "Planets hard" "PLANETS HARD-" "Planets hard" "Planets hard"
Thanks for all the guides! I just finished this last night and i was still a little confused on how a few of the mechanics actually worked and was mainly just lucky to have more competent people than myself to help with the clear but after this video i understand waaaaaay more clearly on what is actually going on.
I am a 35 year old ex-hardcore WoW raider who moved to FF years ago (only just REALLY started playing it though). The higher tier raids are interesting, they are simultaneously harder but more forgiving. In WoW, nearly every hard boss has 1-2 instant wipe moves that are VERY easy to fail. FF seems to have as many or more incredibly important mechanics in the fights, but due to resurrects and high damage instead of instant death in many places, it's more intimidating but easier somehow. I love the feeling of it.
as someone who only started to dip their toes into MMOs and raiding with FF its always interesting hearing comparisons to similar games. Im fascinated by raiding culture
The despair unforgotten mechanic can also record on dead players, so if two or three people die either before or during the mechanic, it'll be difficult, if not impossible, to recover from it if not revived soon.
thank you for the guide! I was really stressed about this fight when they announced it, the way they talked about it haha. Turns out it's pretty chill actually, i had a lot of fun farming it last night.
OHH now i get why i couldn't consistently understand the center head on theological fatalism when i did this on launch day. i was thinking that 1/2/3 rings meant that it would repeat its 1st/2nd/3rd attack respectively, not that it was rewinding by that many steps (and that the last attack of the center head would just be repeated in the same direction). that interpretation worked fine for the corner heads since their patterns are symmetrical but it caused me so much grief with the center one lmao
You were saying to go to the head with the odd number if there is one, or the head with 2 if there are no odd numbers. But this seems confusing. In the video, both examples you showed didn't fall into the criteria of 'only one head will be safe'. In the first clip, the heads were 3 rings and 1 ring (both odd) and in the second clip, they both had 2 (how would you know which 2 to go to?) Just trying to understand what the player is supposed to do if both rings behind the head are odd numbers or if both rings are '2' @5:55
Ah, what she said is You have to remember "Where the First Set of Donuts started in." So if the First Set of Donuts starts for example, NE and SW, then the 3rd set of Donuts (Aka safe spot) will also be NE and SW. Hope you're with me so far. So when the Rings come out, Check which direction the Middle Head will cleave the area, get behind it and check. If the NE or SW head has 1 or 3 rings it will automatically be the safe spot. If the 2 heads in teh safe spot doesn't have 1 or 3 rings, it'll most likely have 2 Rings. Then in this case, check if the NW or SE head has the 2 rings, for that will be the safe spot. So another way to put it: "Remember which 2 Heads has the Donut AoE at teh start of the mechanic. If any of these 2 heads have Odd number of rings on them, and is also behind the middle head? It will automatically be the safe spot. If, for any reason the 2 heads behind the middle head both has 2 rings, then it's the other head that'll be the safe spot."
Me: You know what I should look at some extreme trials, it can't be THAT hard Proceed to explain Theological Fatalism me: Yep...not my cup of tea But realy amazing well done guide
I haven’t done the fight yet so I might be off, but wouldn’t you just need to remember which was unsafe right before this in the third round (since that means it was safe in the second round)? Which would also mean if you’re starting from the point where you were safe in the third round, any safe 2 ring heads would be adjacent to you; the current one or the one across from you would be unsafe with 2 rings. Again, might be totally off due to not having done the fight yet, but that’s how I understand it from the video.
I think the easy way for this is to locate the center head first if it one ring the face stay the same, if it’s second ring the face will rotate one counterclockwise, if it’s three ring the face will turn completely backward to the one it doing right now. After this try to dodge the center face by stay at the same place or moving totally opposite head to it( one of this two will alway be safe from center head) after this look at number of ring you stay on right now if it odd number then it is already safe but if it even number move to adjacent head that is safe from center head. It may look confusing at first but doing this you don’t have to keep track of all 5 head at once but doing it step by step is much easier in my opinion try follow this step by the pattern on the video and it will start making sense I hope
One way of doing it, at teh start of the Whole mechanic, check Which 2 Head has the Donut AoE. (For example, NE And SW head). When the rewind happens, first check the middle head, see where it'll face and Get behind it and here, CHECK the 2 head you have to choose. If it's a NE or SW head, and it has 1 or 3 rings? It will definitely be the safe spot. If, for any reason it both has 2 Rings? Then the other head (NW or SE) will be the safe spot.
i'm having problems with the stack markers because people keep saying its a purple but i see it as red (: and that's where i clip thru my party (: i had to check your video to confirm lol. thanks for handy guide. time to fix my rotations >
I don't understand flares. No one ever assigns spots for these and I always die to them even if I'm in a corner. Also, do I have to make sure the arrows are not pointing towards players? I was told this but have never seen any guide comment on it.
If you're dying with a flare marker and you're far enough away from other flares then you might just be getting clipped by a doughnut that wasn't standing in the exact middle of the arena. Dunno what you mean by the arrows though
If by arrows you mean the arrows from the flare, no. That's just to signify that it's raidwide damage away from you. Think of it as like a reverse stack lol Where the stack marker just means everyone in the circle and the flare marker means everyone get away as far as possible.
Play in party finder alot. Any time some offers you a discord link to voice chat - take it. I found my last two statics by being a sub-in and then getting an invite to go permanent with them by the end of the night.
Based on the wiping rate in pf farm parties, I'd say it's certainly harder than hydaelyn and zodiark extremes. Of course, everything is easy once you know it.

this isnt high end though, (extreme) is casual content.
@@Kawacozy ah yes, casual content like 5 mechanics at the same time and untelegraphed attacks
adding on to the blue: knockback immunities cannot be used. so you gotta position yourself.

It might of changed but the mechanics don't go off if they're dead, though if you revive, they will. I'm like 90% sure on this. SHRUG

amazing guide as always! I would recommend adding a timestamp tho so it will be much easier to see and learn each mechanics
Nice finally going to go for it. Doesn’t look bad at all.
Excellent guide! The hardest part for me is when the blue planets collide and then after the red planets collide.
You just have to position yourself with the blue planets push to be mostly out of the way from the red planets, its hard but once you get it its easy
After ding this fight so many times can read the five head mechanic but i could never explain how i can tell where the safe spot is lol
