I just picked up 2 new Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Cameras (4K and 6K G2), and was shocked at how washed out the flat color was when I pushed it through my ATEMs. Once again, you've saved me hours of frustration. I'll be sure to create or import some LUTs and push them through the HDMI. Keep up the great work!
Hello, greetings from Honduras, have you heard about an issue with the autofocus beep in atem mini setups and blackmagic studio cameras? I ask because i went to an event yesterday, about my third time using my setup BMStudio 6k pro and atem mini and upon checking my final result video i hear a pretty constant autofocus beep that in my previous videos is not present, thanks in advance i look forward for your reply

I produce online courses and I was thinking to buy the BMPCC 4K for that but I am not sure because the camera does not have autofocus, I need an adapter for Nikon lenses too. I use the ATEM Mini Extreme ISO and three cameras, one for the front, one on top and the third one for standing presentation (for this I wanted the BMPCC). I use until now a cheep Panasonic v180 but I want to upgrade, the options are Sony FDR-AX53 4K, Sony FDR AX-700 4K and of course the BMPCC... what do you think? I had a very bad experience with the Vide Assist 7", after 16 months of buying it, it smelled burnt and did not work anymore. BM's recommendation was to buy a new one, absurd recommendation. That's why I have some doubts about BM now. Thanks!!
Great videos you have on BM devices. I have one question and I can't find a clear answer anywhere. I hope you can help me. I have a BMD Studio Camera 4K Pro and an ATEM Mini. Is there a way I can start recording on the camera connected SSD remotely? There's no such option in the ATEM Control software to fire the recording button for Atem Mini (I know ATEM Mini Pro can do it). I just need to be in the front of the camera like you and be able to record BM RAW files directly in the camera without doing it manually (I work alone in my studio). I appreciate your help. And again, congrats on your content and quality!

On the camera settings macro, I see that there's a color wheel option, but can you just set your camera to just use a lut you create for that specific scene?
Hi Alex, do you know if BM is planning to let us use de croped sensor as we can do in de BMPCC when we select the recording resolution in HD instead of 4K? It's a great trick when you need to use a far back camera so you can 2xZoom on the image.
Hi Alex, I use the lens correction feature all the time in DaVinci to remove the fish eye effect from GoPro footage. Is there a lens correct feature in the Atem Switch or Atem Control so I can incorporate Gopro or wide-angle lens live content?

I also just bought an Atem mini extreme iso. I have the choice of getting another sony camera of lesser value or a BMPCC like the 4k or 6k. Would would you suggest? Do you think the black magic could go well with the sony? Thank you!
Hey Jim, if it's a static shot for a home studio where you don't need continuous autofocus I'd say go with the Blackmagic, it will give you so many workflow benefits when it comes to working with the ATEM Mini. I have mixed and matched Sony's and BM's before without issue. I hope this helps :)
As long as the lens has powered focus then it should work. Although do note that this camera is MFT mount, so a Canon 70-200 wouldn't working without the correct metabones adapter
@@AlexPettitt Agreed. Currently I’m using a few GH5 cams with the adapter and bought the BM Studio Cam and using the same with them. I knew the powered lenses would accomplish this but I didn’t know if you set the lens to autofocus if the BM studio cam would engage that with the buttons you mentioned. I didn’t think it would but wanted to verify.
Alex, another question for you. With the ATEM iso the files are still 1080p. If I use a BMPC, is there a way to get better quality files for the iso files? Meaning, with all cuts, overlays, etc? Thanks
Hey Jim, yes, you can automatically swap out the 1080p ATEM ISO files for the 4K BMPCC files in the DaVinci Cut page. This is something I will be covering in a video real soon :)
I actually have a video coming out about this soon, because I kind of have a hacky but really useful way of doing it which means it's not just a telepromter, but has multiple uses :) I think the video should be out within the next few weeks :)

How easy would you say the pocket cameras are for filming yourself? The single AF seems good, but curious what other tips you have for focusing?

What lens do we need for the autofocus? Is this possible with the Micro Studio Camera as well?
You’ll need an MFT lens with powered autofocus. And yep, this also works with the Micro Studio Cameras too 👍
Any specific info needed to do autofocus? Will this work with any lens with autofocus? Canon 70-200 for example.
As long as the lens has powered focus then it should work. Although do note that this camera is MFT mount, so a Canon 70-200 wouldn't working without the correct metabones adapter
