Avoid buying switch version because it has annoying lagg input issue when you move character you can feel that character does not responds timely, there is slight sluggishness that gets annoying in time. I tried it on 2 switches, same issue. They just need to fix it / synch it or whatever
This is true, every room you enter, every fast travel, it saves the game. I was baffled by no manual save in the beginning, but once I realized that this was the case I honestly forgot about the issue, hence why it was not mentioned in the video.
While it does have some darker moments, it doesn't go quite as dark as LISA. It's more of an adventure rpg story, with hints of creepy and dark here and there.
Just played the demo. Has a very slow start, but it seems fine. Have you ever heard of Deathbulge: Battle of the Bands? It's a RPG of similar length. Very funny. Unique battle system. Best indie RPG I've played.
Sea of Stars most likely has the better turn based combat system since Bloomtown's is pretty simple, but I I really like the satisfying feeling of completing Bloomtown's story. As for Chained Echoes, I haven't played that yet but from what I know it actually seems to be more my type of game as compared to the other two.
I feel like you missed alot of important gameplay features who would be kinda helpful knowing about, just to really make this review as helpful as possible if you know what i mean haha!😭 like what more can you do in the game beyond fighting? Farming? Can you Forage for stuff in the world? Working at the shop (or whatever it was) to earn money? And i think i maybe saw there were shops in the games and if so, can you buy things in them? Can you befriend towns people? Those thing were the things i really wanted more info about haha 😅 Excuse my bad English, English isn't my first language haha!
No that's understandable, I did shorten the review and didn't do a deep dive on some of the features just because they were implemented on such a basic level that I felt they didn't really need much looking into. But to clarify, the farming feature is super basic. You buy seeds from the shop, you plant them with fertilizer, water them everyday and after harvest you can use them as healing or SP items. I didn't make use of farming as much because food items are so cheap in this game, and it felt tacked on just for the sake of having a farming system. I still appreciate it being there though, and would rather have it be a feature than not. Same with foraging. There were apples to be found in one of the maps, but not much else after that. You can befriend townspeople in the form of character quests which I thought was great so I mentioned it in the video, and the shops are mostly for buying consumable items. There is a shop for equipment upgrades, but they were so cheap I bought the strongest ones within the first few days of the game. I felt the progression was more tied to abilities unlocked via leveling instead of sword, gun, armor stats, so that's what I focused on in the video. Thanks for the suggestions though, I'll keep this in mind when doing future reviews!
Is this game focused on combat with side activities? Or is this a game that is focused on side activities with a bit of combat? I can't gauge what its focus is because there are so many things to do. Personally, I'm looking for something combat focused with a few side activities to break the monotony.
I'd say 50/50 if you try to do all of the sidequests. You do sometimes have to go out of your way to find those secrets though so if you're just going with the flow of the game, then it's gonna feel more combat focused with the amount of time spent in the Underworld. I would recommend trying it out on higher difficulties, but there was that bug I mentioned, and I'm not sure if that's a common bug or a one time thing for me.

I was curious about this too since there was one specific mob that kept respawning for me in one of the earlier areas, while in the later areas I didn't get any respawns. I would say you couldn't grind levels, but there might either be some exceptions, or it was a bug.
I used to play Persona 4 while working at my old job. Honestly, these types of games fit the workday quite well since you can go back in and out pretty smoothly, and you can play at your pace!

Maybe I am getting old, but these games are all so samey, most of the time I have the feeling that I played a very smilar game more than once already :(
I’m on the third and fourth day I’m not liking it that much in terms of character development. There’s no real motivation for the main character to sign the contract, and the pacing feels fast, asking Ramona if they are friends like their second day hanging out. Plus the characters should have been in their mid teens they all talk too maturely for their age.
That's interesting, I thought the dialogue was written very accurately to how children speaks. The only exception was Ramona who was a bit more mature than the rest as she is approaching her teens, and occasionally Emily when doing successful smarts rolls. Also for the contract, I didn't accept the contract the first night, but in my playthrough, Lucifer approached Emily again after she fought here first demon without a guardian in the tree house underworld scene. Accepting the contract after encountering a real demon felt believable to me since she was looking for anything to protect herself.
I still play! Doing Genshin was working so well but I didn't want to get stuck covering just one game. I'll cover it again at some point though, hopefully before Snezchnaya lol
I think the music is fine but it doesn't fit the theme of this game. persona jrpg battle music is so....modern. whereas this game is set in the 60s(?) the developers should have known when to stop with the persona inspiration.

You can’t manually save! That’s a big deterrent, but still might get it anyway.
I have heard in another video, that it is being saved so often so you can undo your every step or so

There is an autosave every 5 min and everytime you enter/exit rooms. Not an issue at all
