    Just to be precise: the Ambient Lighting Powders are NOT “setting” powders but “finishing” powders! Big difference if you take your make up seriously ;-)

    every blush/bronzer have an equal amont of color and powder in them. the final marbeling look depends on how they are stirred but they are all the same. that is why you have to swirel your brush over the whole pan :)

    • @stylishandliterate
      @stylishandliterate  7 років тому +4

      hannah roebem true but even though there's equal amount of product, the marbling definitely affects the application. I found that especially true when I had to repurchase mood exposure. The marbling in the first blush I had showed an even amount of the powder and pigment giving a more colour on the cheeks, whereas the second blush's marbling showed more powder than pigment and applied it appeared lighter on the cheeks.

      iAMM that's not true i was waiting snd waiting for swatches and it never happened so completely fail!!!

    • @stylishandliterate
      @stylishandliterate  6 років тому +3

      CleoDita chiczazil I don’t see any value in swatches for most ambient lighting powders as some are so sheer that they would hardly be noticeable and swatches can be so subjective as it depends on the skintone. However, I did swatch the blushes and bronzer in a blog post that I linked in the description.

    Thank you so much for such a thorough review! I have been dying to lay my hands on Hourglass products as we don't get them in South Africa. To buy them directly from the Hourglass website and including the hefty courier and customs duties, is going to cost me the GDP of a small country! One day, I will definitely get my hands on those Ambient Lighting powders! ❤️

    Great video! Thank you. Been trying to decide which ones for weeks! I think I am going to go with dim light and diffused light.

    thanks for this helpful review, especially on the blushers. i went to sephora to check them out, and see how each one marbles differently (because, you were right! they are all so unique 😊) . unfortunately, an SA stopped me, saying that “they’re all the same” and that i didn’t need to look at them individually 🙄 haha. oh well! maybe nordstrom will be nicer about me doing that 😂

    Do you like the trio palette better than getting a large individual powder? I’m trying to decide between getting the trio and a mini blush or getting a large single (probably dim light) and getting a mini blush and/or mini diffused light.

    So beautiful! ♡ oh that technique name is in Italian! I'm italian and just for curiosity it is pronounced "MEESHELARE" the "A" of the last part (LARE) it is pronounced like you pronunce the " A" of the word "ART".

    • @stylishandliterate
      @stylishandliterate  6 років тому +1

      Thanks for the tip! Will definitely pronounce it correctly in the future! 💕

    thank you for the video! Am i right to think about getting the powder pallet as a very first Hourglass Ambient Line product?

    • @stylishandliterate
      @stylishandliterate  7 років тому +1

      Maria Maria absolutely! the palettes are the best bang for your buck. it gives you a variety of powders to try and each pan actually does last a while!

      Aleeza | Stylish & Literate hi! Just bought this one yesterday, can I use luminous light all over my face? We have the same skin tone I believe. I'm scared it's going to make my foundation darker. Thanks!

    • @stylishandliterate
      @stylishandliterate  7 років тому

      +mylenewicked i don't imagine it will darken the base. i apply it to the highpoints and it's almost colorless except for the glowy / pearlescent finish

    Can you use a regular loose setting powder underneath the finishing powders? Or would that affect the performance of them?

  • @bvrlylava

    Can they accentuate large pores?

  • @Stephie_L

    Hi, is the luminous light darker than than dim light? I have around nc40 skin (but same tone as you in general) and the dim light looks slightly ashy on me when used all over. Thanks

    I have a fair skin, can I use Dim light as an all over setting powder?

    • @stylishandliterate
      @stylishandliterate  7 років тому +1

      Hmm... it may be light enough to work on fair skin. you could also try diffused light if you like the ambient powders but want something lighter than dim light :)

    Hey! I have hight medium neutral skin tone, im trying to decide between Dim light and Luminous light! Which one recommend ?

    • @stylishandliterate
      @stylishandliterate  Рік тому

      They’re different finishes… both would suit you, but luminous light has more of pearl finish than dim light. Think it would depend on how you plan on using it

    Which one do you recommend for a wedding makeup?

    • @stylishandliterate
      @stylishandliterate  6 років тому

      Depends on the skintone but for me, I would use dim light all over the face, diffused light under the eyes, a bit of bronzer and then probably radiant magenta for blush 💕

    Super off topic but what bag is hanging over your right shoulder (the left in the video)?

    • @stylishandliterate
      @stylishandliterate  6 років тому

      It’s a saddle bag from Coach (crossbody with a shoulder strap). I’ve had it for years-not sure if they have a similar style in their current range.

  • @CassandraSxx

    Hey!! Your videos are great. Question: how are you hanging the bags on the shelf in your background?

    • @stylishandliterate
      @stylishandliterate  4 роки тому

      Hello! I just hung them on the handles for the glass door. Nothing special unfortunately...

  • @bvrlylava
    @bvrlylava 6 років тому

    What brushes do you tecommend for them?

    • @stylishandliterate
      @stylishandliterate  6 років тому

      Any brush works, really. It’s more the technique, the finishing powders work best when it’s sweeped on the skin as opposed to buffed one
