  • Hi! I'm back with another tutorial on how to use our Ambient Lighting Powders. These are some of my favorite techniques when using the powders but there is no right or wrong way to use them. Comment below if you have a trick I didn't mention! xx Chanel

    They really are the most beautiful powders. There’s something almost magical about them. It’s a lot of money to shell out but I’m afraid to say, they’re worth it!

    I LOVE the Mood Light powder. It has the most beautiful glow on my face and a very natural finish. Cannot wait to try the other products after my MECCALAND haul next month!

    I bought this palette years ago, and only used up the middle colour because I didn’t know how this was supposed to be used. I just repurchased it and so excited to finally use it properly!! :)

    I finally got my first powder after waiting on the Sephora’s waiting list for 4 months! it is sooo popular in my country (Singapore) that it keeps getting sold out.
    I chose the Dim light based on the description, which is suitable for my fair skin & conceals redness. I also bought the ambient lighting palette when I was still waiting for the ‘dim light’ to arrive.
    After I receive it, I didn’t really know how to use it properly, so I decided to go UA-cam and search.
    This video is great, thanks for your detailed explaination! Now I know how to use it more appropriately 😍😍

    I first tried these powders about four ish years ago in a Christmas palette(the second one they done!) and I fell in LOVE with diffused light and Dim light powders!!, as I’m super pale with a strong yellow undertone many ‘brightening/banana’ powders brands create to set and highlight under your eyes are WAAAY too dark for me, but this still brightens my undereye even if I put it on top of a really emollient concealer, and if I’m still dark under the eyes after one layer of powder (I’m pale and suffer from very deep dark circles and being as pale as I am just exacerbated them!) I’ll go in with a mini damp sponge or a oversized flat shadow brush and apply a more liberal amount (not enough to call baking, just enough to add more coverage, ) and it brightens it even more! Without making my undereyes look dry! And Dim is a really easy mistake proof everyday bronzer for me!! I’ll definitely have to try mixing them! Honestly if it wasn’t for the palette where I tried these powders myself I would have NEVER thought of spending $70AUD on a powder, but I’ve tried quite a few similar looking powders but nothing really compares! ( the bargain hunter I am, if I can find a product I use every day at a cheaper price, then I will, but honestly nothing has come close to this formula!)
    And where I purchase my hourglass products (Mecca here in AUS) I’ve noticed they do minis of the most popular shades at half the price, which I think is such a brilliant marketing idea! Obviously if you travel often it’s great, but for those who are scared to invest in a powder at that price (I know at certain shops in other countries you can open, try, apply a product and if you still don’t like it you can return it for your money back, but you can’t do that here! And not everyone lives in large cities with hourglass counters/products in store to physically try themselves!)
    Not to mention Diffused light even looks good on my mums undereyes, even though she’s very tan! Love it!! 💋✌🏻

    I am OBSESSED with the Ambient Lighting Powders! I am always telling people about them and whenever I wear them (which is every time I do my makeup) I always get compliments on my skin. One of my friends always says "Your skin is so beautiful it looks like velvet" ... xo

    Stunning! You look amazing and it’s awesome to see all the powders in action. I love dim light but also the two powders in the edit Unlocked palette. The lighter one is great all over and the medium one looks great to diffuse bronzer or mix them together! Love everything Hourglass ❤️

      Hi! Can I use the hourglass ambient powder alone? Or it’s only good as a setting powder? Your response will be highly appreciated. Thank you

    • @cornelias.5271
      @cornelias.5271 4 роки тому

      On dry skin you can use them alone. If you need oilcontrol use a setting powder where needed and then the ambient lightning.
      I Orten use them without foundation just over primer and concealer

    I love the way dim light looks all over, but it is basically a bronzer on me bc I am as fair, if not more so than you. I would run to the store to buy a fair skin version of dim light! I used up a diffused light, but I did not see as much of a softness as what dim light does. I wish I still had it to try mixing them.

    • @ChanelTemple
      @ChanelTemple  5 років тому

      mixing them is my favorite!! you get the best of each powder and diffused softens dim just enough.

    Is it best to apply right after setting powder all over? Or after contour & blush?

    • @ChanelTemple
      @ChanelTemple  5 років тому +2

      great question! both work. i usually use them before blush and contour but on set before i've added them after to give something extra and blend out a harsh contour.

      Its been a couple years lol... Im sure you have perfected your technique now.
      I have used them right after foundation and concealear, and sometimes setting powder. I would just put in places where I want to highlight, blush, or brighten etc.. and seriouslyyyy it's next level no makeup, makeup type of FLAWLESS!!!!
