I can't spend $90 on the Hourglass, and I'm so grateful to you for showing us such beautiful dupes. I have to say I agree with others that the dupe side looked better to me than the Hourglass side. Would love a follow-up comparing longevity, too.
I can’t buy an Hourglass palette because I wouldn’t use all the shades. IF you would use all the shades, and have the money for it, by all means, treat yourself! But if you only like one or two shades, getting the drug store dupes is a perfect alternative. Thanks for the video!
I bought the Dragon pallette. It's my first hourglass purchase. I absolutely love it, and that includes the finishing powders. I don't usually use highlighter, but I'm going to experiment. Anyway, at 49 it looks really nice on my skin. I've gotten several compliments. But I wouldn't recommend people to buy it I they already own a previous pallette.
I'd buy the Hourglass pallet if it were $40. But I can't justify 90... that's crazy. Also, Milani Baked Blushes are the best. I've had Luminoso for years, and it still looks beautiful. And your eye look is gorgeous today. As usual.
I said that SAME THING! Ha! Same exact 40 dollars 😂My comment was Hourglass palettes in general are 40 dollars nice not 90 dollars nice. I bought their original trio finishing powders with a gift card a little while back and thought this is pretty powder but no way worth that much money.
I got the exact hourglass pallete you got with the lotus flower design. This is the first thing I have ever bought from hourglass and I can't believe how amazing these powders are. I got 15% off and a mini of their powder for a free gift and I love it too.
@@saniaz680Maybe there was a code for first orders? I think I had one too for my first ever order on their site. You may need to sign up to the newsletter. I can’t remember.
I bought an Hourglass face palette in 2022 and have used it every single day since. I use 5 out of the 6 products in mine. The highlighter is just a little too deep for me. But other than that, I LOVE my palette and found it to be a really good investment and great for travel. Some of the products are worn down, but I still haven’t hit pan on them two years in.
Hourglass has 6 colors for 90. So that is 15 bucks a pan. If you look at it that way, it is a good deal. Plus it's all in one place and easier. I have 2 hourglass palettes I use all the time. I have just started putting a little dent in the bronzers. Hourglass was a treat for myself. That and Viseart matte eyeshadow palettes, and Mac lipsticks. The rest of my makeup is drugstore.
I agree. It’s a large outlay but if they work for you it’s a good deal. The dupes add up to $35 so if you found a finishing powder for $10, that’s half the price of the palette. Which is a good savings but the hourglass formula is wonderful and the palette is so convenient for me. I got the dragon one.
@@ericahettwer1147 I do agree. I have the ghost unlocked and sculpture palettes. I love that they are all in one place. But I don't need anymore, I have had these for what 3/4 years ? They are baked and still doing fine lol. I would repurchase when and if I hit pan on most. I look at them as investment pieces. That and Viseart matte eyeshadow palettes. Their shelf life is 3 years. I think I remember I had one from ABH and their was 6 months? Spend a little more , get quality and it's worth it. If you have the money.
Totally worth the splurge if you use all the colors. I splurged on a couple radiance blushes and use them all the time. Still nice to have dupe options
@@jennifermolina4396 I have one called holi-fame. It's all their colors, in a smaller condensed foldout palette. Not the big clunky plastic version they had, it's great! **It's back in stock on their website** .
Like others have said already, the drug store side looks a lot better. I don't know if it is the light though but it does look more smooth and actually more expensive/ high quality. Huh!!! Well done video!
As long as people keep paying the price for high-end makeup, they will keep making it. I can't think of anything in my collection that I have purchased in the past three years that hasn't been drugstore. I don't shop at Ulta or Sephora so I am not tempted, and I don't watch TikTok. I follow creators who I either trust and/or can teach me something.
I cannot figure out why your subscriber numbers are not higher. I began watching your you tubes a few years ago. Your presentations are intelligent, refreshing, funny…and honestly..if you were to slap mud on your face, you would still be the most beautiful woman talking cosmetics on you tube. Hourglass palettes are overhyped even tho’ their powders are lovely.
The ghost palette was my favorite, and was not $90. The new ones are. I love my hourglass palettes, and ordered two this year. I now have 8, and don’t regret one cent.
What a great idea for a video, MandyLea! A great challenge to find dupes for the Hourglass and you did it. The two sides look identical. You are to be commended for your efforts. I know you are very good about doing price comparisons on products. I will mention that each of the 6 products in the Hourglass comes to $15 each. You didn't actually do a cost comparison of 3 blushes, one bronzer, one highlighter and one finishing powder of the drugstore products. The Hourglass company gives 5% of proceeds of sales from these palettes to the Non Human Rights Project. That is a bonus to me. Another advantage is having all these products in one handy container instead of having 6 different containers. Another thing to consider is ingredients. I looked up the Essence Nude blushes and their second ingredient listed is corn starch. A things to consider when purchasing a product IMO. Thanks for doing this video.
Would love to see dupes comparison between drugstore and highends that we currently have existing already in our collection. Might be a longer video but seeing shades that compares to Nars Madly, Bare Minerals invisible bronzer, etc 😊
Something I always consider is that, like multifunction machines, if you use up/break your favourite in the palette, the rest is wasted. You can use the other colours, but will you when the whole palette looks less attractive with that one out? If you really want all those colours in one palette, by an empty magnetic one and pop your favorites into it. I personally prefer each colour separate most of the time.
You should try the essence highlighter. It’s like $4 and I actually prefer it to my hourglass highlighter because the essence one doesn’t have any glitter particles in it.
I bought the Snake palette last year so don’t need this but honestly I absolutely LOVE it! Yet this year I bought an essence blush in goldy cassis and love that blush! Thank you!
I wanted the Owl Hourglass palette and miss out. This time I bit the bullet gathered up some coupons and purchased the Evil Eye Palette it’s stunning no regrets. It’s absolutely beautiful.
Last year I purchased the Sephora brand 4 pan dupe. I love it so much that I bought backups when it went on sale. I already have three of your dupes for this year’s pallet and will definitely be ordering the other. Thank you!
I have 2 of these- one from last year (leopard) and one from the year before (tiger). I love them. BUT I waited until they were on sale for £50 ($60ish) or less. I managed to snag the tiger one for about 30, I think. Basically, unless they sell out completely, you WILL be able to get one at some sort of discount (unlikely to happen at ALL retailers at once) so don't ever pay full price! Well- unless you simply HAVE to have one particular colourway, but even then there's bound to be a coupon code floating around for you somewhere. The Dragon one seems to be the sellout this year. Which is fine by me cause I need something deeper and hate the finishing powders! 😂
I just found you on my page. Well hello. Love your content. I’ll binge watch and I’m here for dupes. I have to shop smart and if I can’t use them all , then I can’t buy I’m fair light (way older tho 😂😂)
That essence Rosewood blush is my absolute FAVORITE - so gorgeous! - and I am very, very, VERY fair. Do I have to use it judiciously? Yes. But it is so beautiful on the skin! Those essence blushes are among my favorites in my entire (stupidly large) blush collection.
I have the ghost palette also. I’m fair to medium - depending on winter or summer. I have found I like my Laura Geller baked blushes and bronzer much more than the Hourglass palette. I also got the NYX bronzer to try and like it, but in the lighter color. I use my ghost palette still mostly for travel as it’s almost a complete face palette for me - just slap on some tinted sunscreen and a tiny bit of concealer, with mascara and eyeliner I’ve got a full natural look. But I get more product in my Laura Geller powders and if I want creams I pack up my Elf cream pots. I am going to try some Essence blushes. They look really nice! Thanks. 🥰
Glad to see someone compare other formulas to Hourglass. Between Milani, Essence, and Physicians Formula no reason to pay high end for baked blush, I could never be locked into someone elses pallet colors and pay twice as much. Laura Geller has the best baked blush formula and Colourpop has supershock, if you keep an eye out you can often get them on sale
Thanks for another great video! I am so on the fence about an hourglass palette.. I’m looking at the dragon color story and I do think I will use all the colors.🤷🏻♀️
Excellent video! I also cannot justify 90.00 for a palette! I enjoy your videos and the dupes are great! Thank you so much. Your eye look today is fantastic… can you share??🥰🥰
I've always wanted to buy one, but can't justify spending so much. I usually love the packaging a lot more than what's inside. Spending $90 for beautiful packaging and one or two colors I really like is just not worth it.
Packaging as far as cosmetics go imo is never worth it. The way I see it is if you just want a pretty looking item why not use the money for a piece of jewelry or new purse. Spending it on nicely packaged makeup is just wasteful…for me anyway.
I wonder if Physician's Formula's Butter Glow Pressed Powder in Translucent Glow would be a dupe for the Hourglass finishing powder. I use it as such, and I love it.
I wonder if Milani in Luminoso would dupe the coral blush. It’s one of my all time favorites. Gorgeous. I splurged on a Natasha Denona eye palette once. I use a third of the shades. I have found some affordable dupes for all of them in the drugstore thanks to you and others content creators. It just doesn’t make sense to go high end sometimes.
Love my Hourglass pallet. Bought it in the summer of 2020 & still have some left. Definitely a splurge & likely won’t repurchase at this time because it’s a lot of money I could use for something else but I do enjoy it & would repurchase if I had extra money.
To me the bronzers are quite different. The hourglass side is slightly cooler and the NYX has a reddish undertone. That said, the drugstore products look lovely on you
I used the Hourglass Veil setting powder for years and loved it. However, I have since found some cheaper brands that do as good of a job. Hourglass has beautiful products but they are just to expensive for me!
I think that the palettes should be equal. Offering the same types of powders in each. Light would be best suited for my skintone as well, but I don't want all those finishing powders either. I'd rather have more blush!
Hourglass is notorious for not creating products that can fit all shade ranges. I looked at the differences between all 3 and I have a feeling they just repackaged existing colors in these palettes. It seems they couldn’t be bothered to come up with making new shades so that each palette would get an equal amount of each type
They are 90 now. They were not 90 when they started out! I’m on the fence about getting a new one now. I have some of these, I let last years go by and I’m just not sure I’ll get a new one.
I had one once, but i cannot help, i HATE those tiny little pans, i mean, do i want to do all my powders with a little highlighter brush? For that price tag?! No and no no 😅 The powders are great though, but i think the look is achievable with others, too. It is just a matter of preferences. Thanks for this lovely video ❤

Newly subscribed. Great video! I like the Hourglass gel liners. Have you tried, and if so how do you compare them to the brand you’re wearing in this video? I’m looking for a cheaper option.
I like the Hour Glass powders and have used the mini version. I will not pay almost $100 for a palette. The minis are close to or are the same size as the pans in the palette. The Essence blushes are beautiful and have so much product in them! This luxury makeup deal and paying outrageous prices for them is out of hand, imo.
I bought the Hourglass blush Mood that I loved but it hardpanned to the point I could not scrape anything off in order for it to work. I did have it about five to six years when it happened. Not sure if I will buy any of their products again because of disappointment.
@@gaylemayberry8104 someone said Sephora has a baked 4 pan palette. Blushes, bronzer, and highlight. I personally love them , the finishing powders not as much.
She has these face pallets that are just amazing. They’re very similar to the Hourglass. I would say that the only difference I notice is that hers just seems slightly more reflective and metallic. The hourglass looks the most natural in my opinion, but that’s if we’re splitting hairs
I can’t justify purchasing expensive makeup when food, medicine and necessities are so much more important. I am very happy using affordable dupes. I would LOVE to find a dupe for the Hourglass finishing powder if anyone has any tips. I prefer quality products that will last all day at a reasonable price.❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much for this video!!! The $90 price tag should include an entire face - eyeshadow, concealer/color correct options too. Who is buying this during inflation?
In Australia, I paid $75 just for a single blush, so whatever they charge for 6 powders must be a reasonable price compared to that, but I don't even know if we get them here 😢😢😢
If I cld afford buying one of their palettes, I wld bcuz it's hard to find highlighters for mature, dry, FAIR skin period. I guess #1 obstacle for me is having fair, very light skin. Drugstores- (walking into a drugstore near me) doesn't have any options that I have seen. I love the convenience of having multiple powders & finishes, the packaging is imo just a bonus since I live on a lower income. I do appreciate essence's products, but unless u can get to Ulta, they're hard to find for me.

@@robinlandtroop2774 it's expired, 5/6 years.
I've had the financial means to get the Hourglass pallete. However you got the dupes so close I feel no justification in wasting $90 on Hourglass 😊
I couldn't see a difference. Very interesting!
Very nice
I’ll be getting the Hourglass Dragon palette 😊
Hour glass is waaay outta my price range lol thanks for the dupes
@@gaylemayberry8104 someone said Sephora has a baked 4 pan palette. Blushes, bronzer, and highlight. I personally love them , the finishing powders not as much.
I think Laura Geller's highlight is like Hourglass!
She has these face pallets that are just amazing. They’re very similar to the Hourglass. I would say that the only difference I notice is that hers just seems slightly more reflective and metallic. The hourglass looks the most natural in my opinion, but that’s if we’re splitting hairs
How do you have the colors of the Evil Eye palette with the Lotus cover design?
I have those essence blushes but it’s too much gold shimmers for me that shows texture too much.
I would love to see wet n wild or essence make a hourglass palette oh and nyx also!!!!!!
👏👏👏👏
I can’t justify purchasing expensive makeup when food, medicine and necessities are so much more important. I am very happy using affordable dupes. I would LOVE to find a dupe for the Hourglass finishing powder if anyone has any tips. I prefer quality products that will last all day at a reasonable price.❤️❤️❤️
I’d be interested in more formula/ finish dupes but this is awesome!
It’s not about the color, it’s about the quality. Hourglass powders cannot be perfectly duped.
Thank you so much for this video!!! The $90 price tag should include an entire face - eyeshadow, concealer/color correct options too. Who is buying this during inflation?
Thank you😊
In Australia, I paid $75 just for a single blush, so whatever they charge for 6 powders must be a reasonable price compared to that, but I don't even know if we get them here 😢😢😢
If I cld afford buying one of their palettes, I wld bcuz it's hard to find highlighters for mature, dry, FAIR skin period.
@@rachelleensor3147 Essence pure nude, if the color is okay for you.
I just don't look at Hourglass. THANKS for duping!
