@@billybeverweyk6494 This sounds way more loose and airy compared to “Cool Cat” (A song in which he is definitely using head voice). I’m sure that he’s using more falsetto here than head voice.
In these days of darkness, you are shining Freddie to warm my heart and not let me down. Queen is always shining but you, my lovely Freddie, you are the brightest star in my sky.
@@VLP465 Yes it's a Queen song,on their album But it's a colab between John and Freddie I don't think the other two were involved I know they weren't for cool cat
"Pain Is So Close to Pleasure" began as a riff idea by May. Deacon and Mercury subsequently turned that into a Motown style song, with Deacon playing rhythm guitar. A slightly remixed and reworked version was released as a single in 1986, reaching No. 26 on the Dutch charts. The title also appears as a line in "One Year of Love". This would be one of the last times Mercury would sing a Queen song completely in falsetto.
John composed this Freddie took the line from John's song then wrote the rest I love him singing in falsetto and it fits so well Love the song and them working together
Brian said it had a “Motown” vibe & growing up 60 miles north of Motown (Detroit) in Flint, Michigan in the 60’s, 70’s & 80’s & this reminds me so much of the mighty Temptations. Freddie could sing a phone book & make it a hit. Great song. 🖤🎶🖤
Another of Queens great songs , underated and never given the air time it deserves . Brilliant baselines from John and that great falsetto voice from Freddie .
@@ZarasthuraGyattt even if hot space wasnt rock, the quality of the lyrics wasnt good enough. yeah have a few good songs, under pressure its a masterpiece, back chat and put out the fire are good, but the entire album its a little low for the queen standars.
He is a musical legend, there is not a thing that he couldn’t sing! So many years have come and gone, but our dear Freddie you live on through all of us. We love you 💖
Love this song and was not expecting the falsetto voice of Freddie. This just shows again how versatile he was. Freddie was (and still is) unmatched when it came to his vocal abilities. IMO. :) I read a comment from someone yesterday saying Freddie didn't have the same level of voice strength as he did in the 70's. WRONG! I pointed her to many performances of his in the 80's especially the concerts in at Wembley and in Budapest and this is another one i can send her. :)
Close your eyes and if you never heard of the song before and knew Queen recorded it, you'd swear this was a Motown group. My four musical geniuses...can't get enough of Queen.
God, that musical part from 1:55 to 2:21 and then the lyrics “When your plans go wrong, you turn out the light….but inside of your mind, you have to put a fight” 😔🥺😢 That part of this brilliant song I have always loved, and I hadn’t listened to the song for ages. Today, and after a very difficult 2020 and 2021, that particular part hit me right in the 💜. Brilliant song…and one which really struck me emotionally 🖤💜🖤
I've always liked this song a lot, used to be one of my favourite from Queen, but after the breakup of the relations that lasted for several years this song shines with the different colours to me now. If back then it felt a bit melancholic and i knew what it was all about. Now i feel what this song is all about and realise how Freddie felt himself when composing this. Need no listen to something positive, otherwise i'll end up listening to Joy Division and would feel what poor Ian felt, and that woulndn't end up good for me. Take care of your beloved ones, guys and gals, don't lose them
Nueva canción para mi, y por lo regular me sorprenden cada vez, son bonitas, significativas, con mensaje positivo, wow la voz de Freddie👑 💋sin duda la mejor banda... adorados.
I saw the BEST EVER a few times too,I'm 60 and the show was fantastic from start to finish,so dramatic it was unreal, the Best was the 1977 tour with a Gigantic Crown and WAM they came out to thunder and fast version of rock you the Crown was a lighting ring rising up.

Esta es una de mis canciones favoritas de Queen sobretodo por el gran bajo que toca John y por la voz de Freddie, es una lastima para mí que no haya sido tan conocida en su momento.
That’s just my opinion, but I think this song is one of Queen’s best songs because the song has a strong message.... my 2 Fav parts are: 2:04 and 3:36 ..... I love you Freddie , Michael Jackson and Prince.... R.I.P.

Why this comment remind me of hey jude by the beatles
I find it quite sweet that John Deacon wrote this with Freddie Mercury, like they had a nice friendship before Freddie died.
This was a good few years before he died.
Apparently, John and Freddie were very close offstage. That’s a key part of why John decided to stop playing.
