My husband spent days trying to get this off, the ring instructions don’t explain it well; in one minute of viewing your UA-cam, I got it off, thanks, great video😊
Wow thanks for the tip of grabbing the bottom to pull out. I never put that little screw in because the cover is so hard to get off. I have never gotten the cover off without multiple tries. Sometimes over days to recover from sore fingers, hands and arms. Once I tried it your way it came right off with no bad words even. Thanks so much!
There are 3 things that make this easier for me. 1st - I bought a second battery so that I always have one charged and ready to go. 2nd - I don't use the screw. 3rd - I saved the link to this video in a notes app.
Thank you! At first I panicked because who knew where that little special screwdriver was? But I found it, and thanks to your helpful vid, I didn't completely ruin my Ring. Thanks!
Thank you so much for your video really help me out however do you think I could find a ring screwdriver online. Reason I ask is I just moved in to a new house and the previous owner left us the ring doorbell behind but I can’t seem to find the screw driver to program it thank you
Hey CARLOS :) Congrats on YOUR new house! That is exciting :) YOU can order directly from RING at this link for like $2 ... ring.com/products/spare-parts-for-video-doorbell-pro/?EK4S7-0EN0&gclid=Cj0KCQiAnb79BRDgARIsAOVbhRoDkU9fMg6EcUk80eGjK0RAtOlI6e1ZJny62VkEHnzvqlF1qKXcFUcaArQDEALw_wcB&gclid=Cj0KCQiAnb79BRDgARIsAOVbhRoDkU9fMg6EcUk80eGjK0RAtOlI6e1ZJny62VkEHnzvqlF1qKXcFUcaArQDEALw_wcB
ETPC EPIC TIME PASS CHANNEL yeah the battery doesn’t come out and you can’t remove the cover. I was also confused when recently buying a doorbell 2.. They have older model (the one in video) and a 2020 model. 2020 model you have to take the doorbell completely off to charge.
Your ring doorbell doesn't look like it's mounted very well. It's not flush and there is a big gap at the top. And thank you for the information on removing the cover.

You are welcome my friend
does this work on 2nd generation ring doorbell
I am not 100% sure.. it's probably the same
So where the hell do you find a torx that small after you've lost theirs?
Probably a hardware store, ACE or HOME DEPOT, LOWES...
@@ETPCYT harbor freight has a whole set of security bits... for $6 or so, so much for security.
Thank you
You are most welcome
Help! When I grab the bottom the whole plate comes off. Is that suppose to happen?
only the battery cover should come off...
@@ETPCYT I think I must have one that doesn’t pop off.
What type of crowbar did you use on the top of the doorbell?
lol none ;)
Where do I get the special srewsriver
it comes with the RING
What if I don't have the thing to open it that it came with?
hmm you will have to go get a screwdriver or bit that will fit it
Note this is the old version of doorbell 2
Thanks :)
Gah! Thank you!!!!
Haha :) YOU are welcome :)
I took off the whole doorbell, so does only the bottom come off.
Yes, the bottom cover slides down
Mine doesn’t have that
hmm maybe a different version
How to replace the battery in a ring
take off the cover and pull it out..
Your video doesn’t show the tool need of which is part of the explanation, I didn’t find the video helpful at all
I am sorry my Friend
Womp womp
I lost my key
Hmm a small star/ hex tool should work
Thank you
YOU are welcome :)
