Steel Panther and Nanowar of Steel are not the heroes we want but the heroes we need. Both bands are amazing, talented and hard working, and each of them mocks the most commercial fraction of the rock/metal scene in the respective continent - Steel Panther mock the ridiculousness of the glam/hair metal bands and Nanowar, being Italians, are parodying the overly serious tone of the European poet metal. Lots of parallels could be made between the two bands. Another important point I feel that has to be made is the fact that if you’re not a native English speaker and you’re not paying attention, both bands produce high quality material from a musical standpoint. From a compositional standpoint and from the production standpoint, amazing. Each one is an amazing and enjoyable modern band that plays in a classical realm ( glam and power metal respectively). They both love the music they’re playing, and they genuinely love and respect the music and the artists they mock. Music wise each of the bands is a 100% tribute to the respective genre. Lyrically is a Weird Al Yankovic type of fun that loves rent-free in your heart once you let it in …
They have now the 20 years celebration tour. A lot will be in UK, who knows? If you go in their UA-cam page you will find a good date for sure. They have a great song with Steel Panther too, it is called: Uranus. Wait to see your reaction to that. Consider that the bassist is an actual astrophysicist who can speak ten languages.
