  • A government-commissioned review into political violence is calling for police to be given special powers to tackle protests outside Parliament.
    (Subscribe: bit.ly/C4_News...)
It comes after the Speaker of the House of Commons said that concerns over MPs' safety influenced his controversial handling of the Gaza ceasefire debate.

If a protest is violent and noisy and disruptive, it's a riot. Should not be allowed. Noise and disruption was ok, when there were 10 times less people in the UK. Now it's not appropriate any more. Use internet and media, but no physical touch or noise should be allowed

The system the public will use is protest, not vote for those not calling for a ceasefire and make everyone aware of what is happening in Palestine.

You can see where this is going. Obdurate politicians create self serving legislation, creating grievance and anger, someone shouts at said politicians and makes them poo their pants. Politicians cower and decide they need protection, then calling for police action, but allowing unrestricted measures to deal with any protests. What a great opportunity for police brutality, I still remember some years back when a man was deliberately knocked to the ground, hitting his head on the pavement and needing urgent medical treatment. No one was admonished or punished, and no politician dared comment. Politicians are free to dole out whatever they dream up, but when they are protested against, their arrogance demands that people should meekly accept their BS without a word. These are the creatures that 'the public' persist in giving their votes, so it's suck it up time or just don't patronize these self servers, but hey, they know you will.
