@@rachaulbermudez Hi, I was just there last once again last year Oct before covid. I recommend your bus from Cancun, they are everywhere and prob cheaper than going by yourself. They also take you to local restaurants and sites. This past year there were not as many iguanas like in 2006 and the people soliciting has grown out of control. But the pyramids are still magnificent and the history behind it. I hope this helps : )
How fortunate to see this after 5pm. I tried to go in January 2021. I made it to the entrance at 4.30pm. It was closed for the day. No more after-hours passes are issued, but the merchants are still there selling items for people lingering around the exit, or waiting for a ride back to town.
When I visited Chichen Itza, our tour guy mention that people are not allowed to go on top of the pyramid because many have died in that past (including archeologist). You have to come down the pyramid like a zig zag (that is how the Mayans did it), it has to do with how steep the stairs were made.
@@MsBeckita i went to chichen itza. Amazing place. Believe it or not there is a strange vibe in the air. An energy still resonates there. The other cool thing is that the acoustics in that complex are perfect. Our guide made us walk back about 60 ft and then clapped, and we heard it as if it was behind us
Great video. I'm heading there in a few months. Thanks for the details. FYI -- a cenote is part of an underground network of streams created by the shock wave of the KT Event (that, in part, killed the dinosaurs). The cenotes are connected and if you follow their shape, you can they pepper the crest of what used to be the crater of that impact.
I can't say for sure, it really depends on what you're in the mood for. Both awesome places to travel but very different. I would just keep watching videos of both countries and do some reading research, etc. to decide what sounds more interesting to you.
8th view lol. So hold on, I'm sitting here with 8 inches of snow everywhere and you're down there at Chichen Itza?! :D Lucky you man, hope you had fun!
Ha ha, right on.....yeah I know the feeling, back in November I was in Jasper, Canada and it was 40 below....I was thinking about going to Mexico pretty hard, definitely a good plan.
Brian Porteous Cool, glad you enjoyed. I'd been swimming in a cenote cave right before this, thus the sniffling. If you're curious what a cenote cave is, here's my video about one: ua-cam.com/video/r_m8vy1vDTg/v-deo.html
Dear Mexico Mayan, I really don't know much about your culture and history. I still don't know what your belief was. In general speaking I sometimes feel your people so hard to communicate with. Is because you people proud of yourself too much of your own liberal which is a little different others. Can someone answer me? I speak from what I believe. And I hope someone will receive my humanity voice message to be conscience good human.
How wonderful that you shared all of this with those of us that might not ever be able to take such a journey. Thank you!
Thank you kindly for sharing this wonderful pilgrimage with us.
I was fortunate to climb the temple back in 2006. There were iguanas all over the place including on the steps as you climbed the stairs.
Cool!

Runner Gib When was this built?
Are you kind enough sending a link so I can figure out how to get over there🙏

And underneath that pyramid there is a cenote. amazing how it was built on top of that. can't get my head around it!
There is not a cenote beneath the pyramid? Where did you get that from?
This is pretty great because I have to learn about ancient ruins!

You can start right from here.
Was there June 2018, visit was too short for size of site. Our guide was great, booked through, cruse ship 90 minute buss trip.
Great video. Thanks for sharing. Will be there in April. Can’t wait!
Awesome, have an amazing trip.

I can imagine! We were able to climb the big pyramid at Coba, it was super steep as well.
how long was your tour?
In Chichen Itza about three hours.

You used to be able to climb to the top of the main pyramid. I was there in 1982
Concerned American people would vandalize it our tour guide said people would piss on there too
@@BustyNutz people urinating on the pyramids!? Should’ve sacrificed them! 💯

What is the name of the tour?
We didn't take a tour. We rented a car and drove to Chichen Itza by ourselves and then walked around the site.
nice video, did you take an early tour or went alone?
I went with a couple of friends but it was late in the evening. We arrived just as the sun was setting.

I believe that’s where they tore human hearts from inside 😱
Yes.
Great Footage and very informative. !
I notice you sniff a lot , natural body reaction to dehydration.

If you're serious about these videos, I highly recommend you get a something to stabilise your camera.
This video is four years old, see my latest videos (much better).
I am sure the colonizers took a lot of knowledge and digested them from the mayans just like they did with egypt.
Awful video quality :(
This was filmed with my old camera, my newer videos are much better.
